The morning light had filled the luxurious suite with its golden glow by the time Julius stirred, his sharp senses slowly awakening.

He blinked, his gaze adjusting to the unfamiliar silhouette of someone sleeping beside him.

Miley’s hair was a tousled mess of soft waves, her delicate face relaxed since she was in deep sleep. She lay on her side, breathing evenly, unaware of his eyes transfixed on her face.

Julius sat up slightly, running a hand through his own disheveled hair. He hadn’t slept this deeply in years. His body had been trained to remain hyper-aware even in sleep, always ready to react to the slightest disturbance.

But last night… she had managed to sneak past his defenses. A memory flashed into his mind- soft hands, a warm cloth with which she was wiping his face...

Immediately, his gaze flickered to the nightstand, where his clothes from last night were neatly folded into a pile. His shoes were placed neatly beside the bed, even though he remembered falling asleep with

As long as we are inside this store, I am a customer– and I'm just as respectable as any other paying customer.”Anna scoffed,"Yes! The word ‘pay’ makes all the difference! And we all know you are incapable of paying for even a paper bag from this store. The world doesn't revolve around me, but no matter which corner of the world you got to, beggars like you will always be inferior to people like me!”Her boyfriend smirked in agreement. "That’s just the truth of the world! Some people are born into respectable families, and all doors open for them… and people like you should just admire things from the outside."Anna laughed, making sure her voice was loud enough to be heard by the surrounding customers.“If window shopping is your new hobby, I would suggest you to find another place to stink up with your presence.”A round

However, the moment the manager laid eyes on him, the look of arrogance on his face was wiped clean. He blinked rapidly, his mouth opening and closing like a fish gasping for air. He shot a panicked glance at Julius, then back at the Duke, his brain struggling to understand what had just happened. This low class man he had mocked and humiliated… he wasn't faking it? This man had actually called Duke Morgan, and the Duke had actually come there too…?For a split second, his face drained of color, but his instincts quickly kicked in. He plastered on a bright smile, the kind of polite expression he only saved for royalty and billionaires. He hurried forward, nearly tripping over himself in his eagerness.“Ah! Your Grace! Wh

Julius had been prepared for this outcome the moment he stepped into the Zehra Royale Malll. He knew that powerful people like Duke Morgan naturally had enemies lurking in the shadows, and since their attempts to kill them during the Summit had failed, they would probably try and finish two powerful targets as soon as possible. The manager was tightly clutching the hilt of his dagger in his right hand, while the crowd that had gathered near the store started to scream and cry in panic, trying to get away from the range of the gun as fast as they could. Meanwhile, the manager tried to pull his hand and stab the dagger, but Julius’ reflexes were much faster. While his arm was still in the air, Julius squeezed the manager's neck and pulled his dagger- wielding arm back, dislocating his shoulder from the socket and sending him staggering backward. However, in his desperation, the man clung tightly to Duke Morgan’s leg. The sudden force caused the Duke to lose his balance, and he fe

As soon as they stepped into the Sail Hotel, Duke Morgan wasted no time. He turned to Julius and Miley, his expression grave,“Come with me. Just the two of you.”Julius and Miley exchanged glances before following him down a corridor. The Duke led them to a secluded, soundproof room, his entire body was tense with urgency. Once inside, he shut the door firmly and turned to face them.“After what has been happening in the last two says, I don’t trust anyone, not even the staff at the hotel.”He admitted, rubbing a hand over his face. “Except you two, and my personal guards. If we had more than two guards with us today, Julius wouldn’t have been outnumbered over there! You may have beaten the odds today, but we may not always be so lucky.”Julius remained silent, standing with his arms crossed, his expression unreadable. Early the next morning, Julius and Miley left the Sail Hotel for the Hammonds family mansion, even though Duke Morgan was still worried about their safety and requested them to stay at the hotel– at least until the Morgan family Summit officially ended. And the sun had already covered one third of its path by the time they reached the city. Julius sat in the driver’s seat, one hand casually resting on the wheel, his sharp gaze flicking between the road and the rearview mirror. As they turned the corner to the mansion, Miley stole a glance in his direction before clearing her throat. “So… what now?” She asked, her voice hesitant. “Where are you planning to go from here?” Although Julius hadn't shared much about her past, Miley knew that his ex-wife had kicked him out of their home, and she wasn't sure where he was going to go next. Julius didn’t answer right away, and instead kept his gaze locked ahead, smoothly pulling into the long driveway of her estate. Miley, assuming th

And before she could ask him what he was planning to do next, Julius moved at the speed of lightning. Miley barely had time to react before he shot up and started striding toward the door. His movements were quick but controlled, like a tiger silently closing in on its prey. He didn’t even bother reaching for a weapon before slipping outside without making a single sound, following the faint sounds of the spy’s movements. Miley played her part well, pretending to call the Duke and announcing that she hadn't received any answer from her yet. After confirming that his targets were caught in a tough spot

Miley did not remember how much time had passed since they had arrived there, everything was going fine till the power cut out happened without warning. One moment, the safehouse hummed quietly with energy, and the next, darkness fell like a heavy curtain. Miley froze mid-step. She was always afraid of the darkness and Julius was also aware of this.“Backup generator?” she asked in urgency.Julius was already moving, lighting a match and touching it to a candle. One flame flared, then another. Shadows bloomed and stretched along the concrete walls, flickering like silent ghosts.“It’s manual override,” he muttered. “Which means someone’s probing the system.”He moved stiffly. Only then did Miley notice the dark stain spreading across the side of his shirt. Her breath caught.“You’re hurt.”“It’s nothing.”“Let me see it.”“No.”But Julius winced when he peeled the shirt off, and the candlelight revealed the gash…angry and red, sliced across his side. It was not too deep, but it was r

The safehouse was carved into the mountainside, invisible to the eye unless you knew exactly where to look. A thick steel door sealed them inside, followed by a pressure-lock corridor that scanned their vitals as they passed. Miley flinched when a beam of light swept over her eyes, but Julius barely reacted.“Security layer. Measures vitals, heat signatures,” he said. “It will prepare medkits if anything’s off.”The main room was minimalist..cold stone walls, reinforced by metal panels, a compact kitchenette, one small table, and a bank of screens tucked into a recessed alcove. There was only one bedroom, a narrow hallway leading to it. The cot inside was clean but spartan. A single dresser. But there were no windows.Miley wandered while Julius ran diagnostics. The silence pressed in, broken only by soft beeps from his console. She moved toward the far wall, noticing a slight variation in the paneling. She touched it. A soft click responded. The panel hissed open, revealing a concea

His hands gripped the wheel, as he was cleaning it, while turning it in circular motion with full force, and suddenly the electricity sparks making the entire place lit with the yellow bulbs, his knuckles becoming white because of the cold and the force. “I am sorry Miley, but I can not lose you to carelessness, the less you know about anything, the safer you would be” he growled, the finality in his tone closing the door on any further argument. She remembered how they had left under the cover of night, the hum of the engine blending into the darkness that swallowed them whole. How the city lights dwindled behind them, replaced by stretches of empty road. The silence inside the vehicle pressed dow

The luxury gifts were still shimmering in their designated spots, the vintage sports cars with a chrome finish, stacks of designer items, and flower arrangements worth a fortune. And as the crowd was about to shift completely against Lorence, he suddenly scream at the top of his lungs while laughing out loud;Ohh my God! I never knew that someone could be this useless too!! Like just to prove yourself as a worthy person, you have spent your wife's hard earned money in renting these fake gifts and the vintage cares! Do you even know how hard it is to make money? Or a freeloader like you only know how to spend it?Because I know it clearly a man like you can't even afford the chrome finish of this car.Lorence's words once again gave the blow to the dying fire and people started to murmur again, as the possibility of renting those things suddenly started to make sense, instead of buying them, because how can a man, dressed in completely simple clothes, afford all of that. And if he did

Lorence hesitated, only for a breath, but it wasn't long enough for someone to notice.“Why should I entertain your little drama?” he snapped, then pointed abruptly toward Miley. “And what about her, huh? She’s the real reason we are even talking. A woman like her, who should be compared to a Goddess…this elegant, capable, stunning woman, does not belong with someone like you, who does not even provide her the basic necessities, let alone the luxuries!”He stalked toward Miley with practiced charm in his voice.“She deserves a man who does not lie. Who does not humiliate her with cheap stunts like this just to make himself look good.”Miley’s eyes narrowed, but she stayed rooted in place.“I mean, look at her,” Lorence continued. “She walks like a queen and talks like one. You think you can match her presence by flinging a couple of fake gifts around and hoping we are all stupid enough to buy it?”Lorence’s words made the way for more murmurs. You could not afford the chrome finish on the door handles.”Julius lets the words settle first and waited him to finish, then adds:“You talk loud for someone who does not know what his own father is doing behind his back.”Now everyone is paying attention again, as this was something going to be a very interesting gossip, as by now they had stopped listening to them thinking that they were busy in some love rivalry drama, but now it was complete politics and the g
