Chapter 191: No Loose Ends
“Raymond,” Olivia began gently, “I know an excellent therapist you could speak with. Someone who might be able to help you work through some of the things you've been struggling with.”He looked up at her.“However, before we get to that, you need to be willing to cooperate with us.”She paused, choosing her words carefully.“I can see that you're genuinely remorseful about what happened to Catherine. But you also need to understand that feeling sorry for what you've done doesn't undo the damage you've caused.”Raymond immediately shook his head.“I know. Believe me, I know.”He looked down at their joined hands.“But I swear, I would never do something like that again. Never!”His voice grew more urgent.“I don't ever want to see the eyes of another person I've killed. I don't want to have another person's blood on my hands. What happened to Catherine is something I'll have to live with for the rest of my life, and I can't go through that again.”Olivia nodded slowly.“I understand.”
Chapter 190: A Chance at Redemption
Kyle, Lena and Olivia exchanged brief glances before slowly returning to their seats.Across the table, Raymond kept his gaze lowered, seemingly uncomfortable with the attention he was receiving. He rubbed his hands together before continuing with his confession.“After Catherine died, I knew I couldn't stay around. The moment I realized that recording exposing my involvement had been discovered in her apartment, I knew the police wouldn't take long to come looking for me.”He paused, swallowing hard.“I had to disappear before they could find me. So I went into hiding, hoping to stay out of their reach while figuring out what to do next.”He leaned back slightly, his expression growing weary.“The police were searching everywhere, and I couldn't risk showing my face in public. I knew that if they caught me, I would never get another chance to escape.”Kyle listened quietly for a moment before leaning forward. “But what exactly led you to kill James Carter?”Lena immediately shot him
Chapter 189: The Confession II
Then he turned toward Kyle, his expression growing increasingly hostile.“You've already deceived me once, and now you expect me to believe that you're suddenly interested in helping me? You, of all freaking people?”Kyle remained silent.Raymond let out another bitter laugh before turning toward the doorway.“Officer! Hey! Can someone come in here and get these people out of my sight?”Neither of the officers immediately responded.“Did you hear me? I want them gone! I'd rather stay in this damn place than accept whatever ridiculous arrangement they're trying to push on me!”Kyle had heard enough. He slowly pushed his chair backward and rose to his feet. “Then listen carefully, Raymond.”His voice was firm as he pointed toward the man sitting opposite him.“I don't know what made you kill James, but I know you did it. And whoever influenced you, whoever put that idea into your head or pushed you into carrying it out, is still out there walking freely while you're sitting in here, pr
Chapter 188: The Confession I
“Raymond, please! Don't do this to me! I loved you, Raymond! Please!”Catherine's desperate screams echoed through Raymond's mind as he watched her struggle against the rope around her neck. She twisted and fought desperately, trying to free herself, but her efforts only made her cries more frantic.“Please, Raymond! I'm begging you!”Her terrified voice seemed to fill every corner of his mind, refusing to fade.Suddenly, Raymond jerked his head up.He drew in a sharp breath, his chest rising and falling rapidly as he looked around in alarm. For several seconds, he simply stared ahead, struggling to regain his composure. Then reality slowly settled in.It was only a memory. He had been reliving the horrifying events of the night Catherine died.Raymond rubbed his forehead and leaned back in his chair, trying to steady his breathing. His eyes wandered around the room as he took in his surroundings. He was still in the prison's visiting room, seated at the table where he had been waitin
Chapter 187: One Last Gamble
There was a brief silence on the other end, but Kyle fired on anyway. “You've spent months negotiating with American companies over this silicon deal, only to keep dragging the process out without reaching a decisive conclusion. Now, after wasting everyone's time, you're suddenly telling me you've entered into an agreement with someone else?” He shook his head in disbelief. “Do you people even understand what business negotiations mean? Transcorp has invested time and resources into this arrangement, and you're treating the entire process as though it meant absolutely nothing!” Before he could continue, the call abruptly ended. Kyle stared at his phone. For a moment, he couldn't believe the woman had simply hung up on him. Eventually, he dropped the phone onto its holder and leaned back in his chair, releasing a frustrated breath. “Unbelievable.” The failed negotiation had accomplished nothing except reminding him how little leverage Transcorp currently possessed. Still, he
Chapter 186: Fighting Back
“What are we going to do now?”Olivia's question broke the silence as she approached Kyle alongside Dora and Irene.Kyle didn't respond immediately. He leaned back in his chair and rubbed his forehead, closing his eyes for a moment as he tried to process everything that had happened during the meeting. After a few seconds, he let out a weary sigh and shrugged.“Honestly, I don't know what else we can do.”Olivia frowned.“Come on, Kyle. We can't just sit back and watch Harlan Voss bring Transcorp to its knees. We've already lost too much ground. If anything, we need to intensify our efforts to stop him before he completely destroys what we all love.”Her words made Kyle slowly open his eyes.He looked at her for a moment before straightening in his seat. Whatever uncertainty he felt, he couldn't afford to let it consume him.He pushed his chair back and rose to his feet, adjusting his suit jacket.“I'll be in my office.”With that, he picked up his tablet and walked out of the confere
