…The air grew heavy.

Kuuong!

The massive Syndicate blockade walker planted its heavy steel treads into the cracked asphalt of the wasteland. Its twin ether-cannons spun up with a high-pitched whine, charging a blinding pulse of blue plasma that illuminated the entire horizon.

"That's a Tier-2 Vanguard unit!" Lyra Thorne screamed, gripping the dashboard of the truck. "We can't outrun it! The acceleration won't Clear the blast radius!"

Elara covered her head, her body trembling uncontrollably. "S-Save us..."

Gideon Vance stood up in the truck bed, his hand resting on the pommel of his silver rapier. His white uniform whipped violently in the dust storm.

"Keep driving," Gideon said, his voice entirely calm. "I will crack its front plating."

"No," Noël said.

Gideon looked down at him, his eyes narrowing. "You want to take a Tier-2 walker head-on with an analog truck? You'll be vaporized."

"To be exact, we aren't going to fight it."

Noël slammed his foot down on the brake, throwing the truck into a violent sideways drift.

Screeeech!

The heavy all-terrain vehicle spun fifty degrees, kicking up a massive wall of dirt and debris that temporarily blinded the walker's optical sensors.

[Administrative Error: Visual target tracking lost.]

The walker's AI hesitated for a fraction of a second, recalibrating its targeting sweep.

That micro-second was all Noël needed.

He opened his mouth and shouted to Lyra, "Drop the spare fuel drum out the back!"

Lyra didn't ask questions. She kicked open the rear latch of the truck and shoved the rusted metal fuel drum rolling out onto the dirt road.

"Gideon, ignite it!"

Gideon didn't hesitate. He drew his silver rapier and flicked his wrist. A blinding crescent of solar ether shot backward from the blade, slicing directly through the heavy metal drum.

Chiiiik!

Kwaaaaang!

The leaked fuel ignited instantly, creating a wall of towering white-hot flames right between their truck and the blockade walker.

The walker's thermal sensors, overwhelmed by the sudden spike in ambient heat, completely locked up.

[Administrative Error: Thermal sensor overload. Combat protocols suspended.]

The massive walker ground to a halt, its twin ether-cannons powering down into a safe standby mode.

Noël hit the accelerator again, steering the truck straight through the smoke and past the paralyzed machine.

[You have bypassed the Sector Three blockade.]

[Main Scenario #7 progress: 95%]

They crossed the invisible shimmer of the Sector Three boundary line just as the twenty-minute timer hit zero.

Kuuong!

Behind them, the entire outer perimeter of the wasteland flashed with a blinding wall of crimson light as the automated artillery grid reset itself, sealing off the sector completely.

They were inside.

The truck slowed to a rolling stop near a crumbling stone archway bearing the faded insignia of the Sector Three sanctuary.

Noël turned off the ignition. The engine sputtered, groaned twice, and finally fell silent.

[You have cleared Main Scenario #7: The Wasteland Crossing.]

[5,000 Tribute has been acquired.]

[Current Tribute: 22,700]

[You have met all requirements for Tier Advancement!]

[Do you wish to advance from Tier 0 to Tier 1? (Y/N)]

Noël stared at the System window. The air around them was dead silent, save for the whistling wind of the wasteland.

Gideon jumped down from the truck bed, walking over to the driver's side window. He looked at Noël with a gaze that carried a heavy, complicated weight.

"You survived the Iron Tomb, the Zenith District, and the Wasteland Crossing at Tier 0," Gideon said, his tone laced with genuine bewilderment. "And now you're stepping into Tier 1. Who taught you all this?"

Noël looked at him and made a slightly complicated expression.

Of Course, he couldn't tell Gideon about the erased timelines he carried in his Mnemonic Ledger.

He pressed 'Y'.

[Tier Advancement initiated.]

[Mnemonic Ledger: 11 / 60 Fractures]

A searing bolt of white energy surged through his veins, breaking the seals on his soul grid.

He held a massive six-foot greatsword in his right hand, its blade crackling with deep purple lightning ether. Beside him stood two heavy tower-shield guardians bearing the crest of the High Council.Gerald had already claimed two sub-seals from the lower Spires. He turned his cold, golden eyes toward the bruised party as they stepped onto the marble arena."Julian Fa

The upper archway led them onto a narrow sky-bridge suspended between the Third and Fourth Spires. Here, a thousand feet above the cloud layer, the icy wind burned Noël's lungs with every breath. The Fourth Spire, the Spire of Obsidian Seals, stood before them. It was a monumental monolithic pillar devoid of windows. Its black surface was carved with thousands of pulsing crimson runes that thrummed with immense weight."The ambient pressure here is three times higher than in the lower towers," Gideon said. He leaned on his right foot, his silver rapier drawn, its white-gold solar ether flickering against the gale. "My ether flow is lagging.""Keep your breathing steady," Noël said, wiping sweat and blood from his chin. "The Fourth Spire tests physical endurance."Elara adjusted her grip on her Radiant Lancer spear."Noël... someone is waiting at the entrance."Standing before the massive iron doors of the Fourth Spire was a single figure. He was a giant of a man, clad in heavy obsidia

High above, the inner ceiling of the Third Spire was Shrouded in indigo mist, crackling with purple lightning."The air Pressure is dropping," Gideon said, leaning against his rapier hilt on the vibrating platform. "My solar ether is reacting strangely to the ambient mana in this shaft."Lyra checked her ether-compass, her brows furrowed beneath her visor."It's not just mana Pressure. The Third Spire has an inverted gravity field. Look at the ledges."Through the swirling indigo mist, thousands of inverted stone pillars hung from the ceiling like giant stalactites, pointing downward into the abyss. Cold abyss wind howled across the narrow stone sky-bridge connecting the First and Second Spires.Eight hundred feet below, sea-clouds of white mana fog churned over the jagged obsidian peaks."The wind resistance on this bridge is fluctuating," Gideon noted, his cloak snapping violently behind him. He kept one hand firmly on the hilt of his silver rapier. "Look at the archways ahead. The Second Spire isn't built from solid stone like the first."Through the swirling haze, the Second Spire loomed before them like a hollow iron cage.Unlike the solid obsidian walls of the First Spire, the Second Spire was composed entirely of thousands of rotating brass gear-platforms, suspended in midair around a pulsing blue energy core."A mechanical puzzle spire," Lyra said, her eyes brightening beneath her helmet visor. She pulled out her brass tuning spanner, her Tier 1 Artificer vision scanning the gear rotations. "The platforms are moving on three independent axis gears. If you step onto a plat
