Josias furiously enters his room, annoyed by Jeremiah's provocations. Is it really serious that the comrade will be eternally wretched because of that discussion? After taking a deep breath and reflecting for a while, Josias decides not to take Jeremiah's mockery seriously, for the matter does not extend.

“Life goes on and we argue about something that has already been resolved.”

After the resolution, Josias takes the towel, shorts, and other clean underwear and goes down the stairs to take a shower. Upon entering the bathroom, he rejoices to see that there was no one and closes the door.

The first water drops of the shower fall on Josias's skin like daggers. Even though the water is cold, Josias has a start. Today's sun did not do to his body any good. After the bath was over, the towel scratched his skin even more.

Back in the room, with all his body on fire, Josias used this as another excuse to sleep naked. The less sheet touching his body

The smell of chamomile filled the living room when Eugenio stepped into the Cogo apartment that morning. Suzy sat curled up on the couch, cradling what had to be her third cup of tea, her eyes glassy and her expression theatrically miserable.“I hope you’re not drowning yourself in calming tea,” Eugenio said, leaning against the doorway.Suzy shot him a look of exaggerated despair. “My nerves are on fire, Uncle!”He sighed. He had dealt with his niece’s dramatics before, but this time felt different. He could tell that whatever she was spiraling over was going to take real patience.“Listen, Suzy,” he began carefully. “Josias Rocha spoke to me.”“And what does that have to do with me?” she asked, too quickly.Eugenio took a breath. “He’s made it very clear he doesn’t want you returning to the Rocha Hotel.”Her jaw dropped. “Fine. I don’t need a steady job anyway.”“I wouldn’t be so sure,” he said, crossing his arms. “Josias thinks it’d be best for all of us to leave the city.”Suzy fr

Maggie’s office at Marçal Publishing was a storm of papers, coffee cups, and rumor. News, real or speculative, was erupting by the hour, and she wasn’t about to miss a single whisper. She shut the door behind her as if preparing to hear secrets from the CIA or the FBI themselves.“Alright, son,” she said, eyes gleaming with curiosity. “What did you find out?”Henrique leaned forward, lowering his voice. “Good thing we didn’t go too hard on Jake Cogo in those articles.”Maggie straightened abruptly. “You found something?”“I ran into Jason Meyer, Jake’s lawyer. He said Jake wasn’t the one driving.”“Did he say who was?” Maggie’s eyes sparkled.“No,” Henrique replied. “Said he’d reveal it at the right time.”Maggie pressed her fingers against her chin, her thoughts racing. “It must have been Suzy. That damn woman.”Henrique nodded grimly. “Let’s hope so. But we’d better stay alert.”“Thank you, son.”They embraced. Henrique smiled, feeling for once that he was truly helping.******Jaso

  • Chapter 3342 Don’t Let Him Rot in Jail

The morning rush at Café Montanha had just begun to taper off when Neilton burst in through the front door, breathless and disheveled.“Sorry I’m late, Rod,” he said, trying to catch his breath.Rodrigo waved it off. “No worries, Neil. Just take care of the guy at the counter,” he added, gesturing subtly toward Jason. As Neilton moved behind the counter, he caught sight of the imposing man waiting there. The aura around him was enough to make anyone tense.“I’m Attorney Meyer,” the man said, his voice calm, deliberate. “And no, I don’t belong to the famed Damascene law firm.”Henrique, seated nearby, raised an eyebrow. “Do you think you can save your client?”Jason didn’t flinch. “Of course. He told me who actually ran over Mr. Simeon Campos.”Neilton blinked, stunned. “But... you can’t say that, right?”Jason’s mouth curved into a half-smile. “I’m just waiting for the right time.”Rodrigo placed a cappuccino on the counter. Jason took a sip, nodded approvingly, and said nothing more.

At the General Hospital, Melissa and Dora stood outside the glass wall of Simeon’s room. Inside, the steady rhythm of the monitors filled the air as a nurse adjusted the machines. Simeon lay motionless, pale and peaceful, caught between life and death.“When will he wake up, my dear?” Dora’s voice trembled.“It’ll take time, Mom,” Melissa replied softly.“When will we be able to talk to him? They say people in comas can hear us.”Melissa slipped an arm around her shoulders. “Only when Dr. Hogan says it’s safe.”“I don’t know if I can wait that long,” Dora whispered.“You can,” Melissa said firmly. “You’ve survived everything life’s thrown at you. You’ll survive this too.”They clung to each other for a long moment, and when they parted, both women were wiping away tears.******Back at the Rocha Hotel, Josias leaned forward over the desk like a spider drawing closer to a trapped fly.Eugenio’s face went pale. “You... you want to fire me?”Josias’s smile was smooth, serpentine. “Not ex

At Ibrahim Square, Suzy sat alone on a bench, her expression clouded. She’d walked away from Luís, forgetting all about the errand that had brought her downtown in the first place. But Luís followed, his steps heavy and determined.“You really do take pleasure in the Rocha family’s misfortune, don’t you?” he said with bitterness.“I just think justice comes for everyone,” she answered coldly, “including the Rochas.”“Why did you become such a vile person, Suzy?”She turned toward him, smirking. “My boyfriend would disagree with you.”“Now that you’ve finally got one,” Luís shot back, “maybe you can stop blaming João Paulo for getting in the way of ME being your boyfriend. Why don’t you just let the past go?”Her eyes widened with rage. “You’re accusing me, aren’t you? Luís Vasquez, I curse the day I ever laid eyes on you!”He grabbed her arm, trying to reason with her, but she tore free, standing abruptly before storming away.Luís crossed his arms and watched her go, exasperated and

Alan cradled Carla in his arms, gazing down at his newborn daughter with a tenderness that softened every line of his face. Sofia, now more composed after giving birth, lay back on the bed, her vitals quietly monitored by the steady beeping of machines.“Our daughter, darling...” Alan murmured with awe.“Now we have one of each,” Sofia said, smiling faintly.“A son to carry on the legacy,” Alan replied, brushing a fingertip over the baby’s cheek, “and a little princess to marry into a good family someday.”He kissed the baby’s soft, sleeping face.“So her future’s already written?” Sofia teased.“Maybe. It’s too soon to say.”“I’d love for her to have a childhood as peaceful as Mary’s,” Sofia said dreamily, “with a proper debutante ball and everything.”Alan chuckled quietly, pride warming his tone. “Oh, that she will, I promise.”He stifled his laughter, afraid to wake the baby, and Sofia sank back against her pillows, feeling a quiet sense of fulfillment wash over her.******Later
