Inside the cell where he was locked into. Everything seemed like a dream to Carl. He went to the same army college with Richard and they have been friends for more than ten years.

He was still finding it hard to believe that Richard would betray him for a promotion.

"I know what to do. Alisha will soon be here. I've told them to call her. She will get the security footage of the hotel, revealing how I entered and carried Alan out of the hotel. I'll make sure Richard pays for this. He managed to get his way because his father is the mayor of this country but I'll overcome his traps" he murmured to himself as he was sweating, giving himself a new hope.

He ruffled his hair in frustration, thinking of different ways to get back to Richard.

He was about sitting down when the door opened and his wife, Alisha entered. She looked gorgeous as ever.

"Alisha" Carl called agd hurriedly went closer to give her a hug.

He was expecting her to do the same but unfortunately, Alisha slightly pushed him back.

"I was called by one of your juniors. Heard you wanna see me. Here I am, what happened?" She questioned, standing in akimbo

Carl was shocked, he wasn't expecting that Kind of treatment from her. He was anticipating Sympathy and worries from his wife, not the other way round.

"Let me tell you what happened. There is this …" he shunned off her habit and was about explaining what happened to her, so that she could help him but alas, she cut off the conversation.

"I heard about what happened. So, is that why you called me here? Don't you think that I'm busy with work? I am working on a very important project and you called me here to hear this pathetic story of yours? How silly of you." she yelled at her husband.

To say Carl was surprised was an understatement. He tried to recall having any misunderstanding with her but there was none.

In fact, they had fun the previous night that he went home and she made him sign some documents for her

"Alisha" he called, still in shock.

"Are you telling me that I'm not important? I can be jailed if care is not taken and I can also lose my job. Don't you think you should do something to save me from this mess? We have a future together and our son is part of the future " he uttered, trying to convince her , even though he was still confused with her changes of character.

"Which son are you talking about?" Richard asked as he stepped into the cell

"Hey! Will you get out of here? I'm talking with my wife, you traitor!" Carl yelled at Richard, who seemed not to flinch with his insult.

"Darling, hope he isn't disturbing you? I know he can act crazy at times" Richard completely ignored Carl and moved closer to Alisha, giving her a peck.

"Don't worry, he can do nothing " Alisha grinned as she responded.

Not wanting to believe his eyes, he rubbed it with his two hands. Did he just hear wrong or is there any issue with his ears?

"Listen carefully, dear ex-husband" Alisha cleared her throat and started.

"Henceforth, I am no longer your wife. The sex we had last night was a goodbye sex and for your information, the documents that you signed last night was a divorce letter, which also stated that all your properties belongs to me" she proudly explained to him

He felt his buttock upon hearing that. He would have checked the papers before rendering his signature but he was tired and Alisha lied that they are papers from her thesis. He had no idea of her plan.

"Don't be too surprised, I can't keep up with you any longer. I've been trying to divorce you since but Richard kept telling me to endure all your nasty attitude. Gosh! That marriage was like hell but thankfully, I'm done with you now" she said, dramatically using her hand to blow air on herself.

"Alisha? You? Have I ever treated you wrong? I managed to provide everything that you requested from me ! I brought you out from the slump and provided for your needs. What else do you want me to do?" He finally lost it, stood up and grabbed her collar

Richard became furious with his action, interfered and he punched Carl on his cheek.

Carl let go of Alisha immediately. He was already broken and was weak.

"That's it! That's just it! You have never laid your hands on me but what you did this afternoon showed that you might end up beating me one day" Alisha screamed, sounding to be manipulative.

"Hey! It's high time you let go of her and you called me a betrayal earlier, I actually did nothing wrong. I didn't betray you but have never liked you, I only became your friend because you are too good and I needed someone to help me in achieving my aims, which you have been doing all these years. I've the ideas but you have the power. Well, I'll make sure to get you a good lawyer as a payback for making my last two promotions possible. With this latest achievement, I might decide to contest for the next senatorial election and I'll win.`` Richard dust Carl's shirt, smirking as he makes those statements.

Carl just realized that he has been used all those years, which he has been thinking about him as a genuine friend.

"Your properties is for the compensation of being with you. I think I'm being fair right now " Alisha added, smiling at him.

The smiles that once enchanted him into a relationship and marriage with him are now irritating him.

He was speechless and didn't know what to say. Everything was happening faster.

"What about my son? How will I get in touch with him since you are divorcing me?" He managed to ask, since he was the only hope he had gotten as his only family.

"Which Son? Are you talking about Jayden?" Richard inquired, then turned to Alisha.

"Didn't you tell him? I thought you had discussed it with him, "he added.

"Carl, I'm sorry to tell you this but Jayden is not your son. He belongs to Richard. I have wanted to tell you this but just waiting for the right time to do so. Enjoy your stay here and be waiting for the lawyer that would be hired for you " she answered without feeling remorseful and walked out.

Carl's life just crumbled right in front of him. He slowly sat down.

"Don't take it to heart, buddy. She is too beautiful to be resisted" Richard also patted his shoulder and left the place.

Carl's position, his wife, son, reputation and properties were taken from him within twenty four hours by the two people that he trusted most in his life? Unbelievable!

He tried to prevent the tears that had accumulated on his eyes from falling but it was too late. They started falling down on his cheek.

He has been left alone, with nothing more.

"I need to find help! A gallant officer like me must not cry" he thought but bursted into tears when he couldn't hold it again.

Carl cried like a baby. He was too shattered.

After crying for a while, he cleaned his tears then stood up

"Who is there?" He shouted, calling the attention of the security guard that was on duty

"Get me sergeant Adam. Tell him it's urgent" He requested, thinking of a way out.

"I'm sorry but commander Richard has instructed us not to allow any visitor except the lawyer that is coming tomorrow" The man responded.

"What!" Carl exclaimed.

Then realization struck him. Andrew. The card belonged to Andrew. Or perhaps Benjamin. He had no idea how these wealthy people's bank cards worked.Maybe it required a password, maybe it needed activation, maybe there were restrictions. Whatever the reason...He had no clue. Unfortunately...Andrew wasn't here. Earlier, he himself had insisted Andrew and the hidden bodyguards keep their distance. Now he couldn't even ask what was wrong. He sighed inwardly. Talk about bad timing. The saleswoman remained extremely polite. "Sir, would you like to try another payment method?"Carl smiled bitterly. "I only have this card." He didn't bring his bank card with him, afterall he'd been abducted in broad day light the other day. "I understand." Despite the failed transaction, she showed no trace of impatience. She simply stood there quietly. Completely different from the previous salesman. He appreciated that. At least she treated customers with respect. Outside the store, however, the first sa

The sales assistant frowned and looked Carl up and down."You were actually planning to buy something?" he asked seriously. Then he muttered under his breath,"I doubt you've ever even stepped into a luxury store before, let alone bought anything from one. Hmph... all talk."Of course, he kept his voice low enough that most people wouldn't hear him.Although he didn't think Carl was worth his time, he didn't dare make it too obvious. If he openly treated a customer badly and someone reported him, he could lose his job.Even so, Carl could easily tell what the man was thinking."Of course I came here to buy something," Carl replied calmly. "If not, why would I be here? But congratulations, you've successfully driven away a customer."The sales assistant forced out a dry laugh and waved his hands awkwardly."Ah, why would I chase away a customer? You must have misunderstood me."He quickly put on an apologetic smile."If I've done anything to offend you, then I sincerely apologize." Whi

Carl entered the luxury vehicle whose door had been respectfully opened for him.The moment he settled into the comfortable leather seat, the door closed softly behind him. A few seconds later, the convoy began moving. He glanced out the window, then he glanced again. The more he looked, the more weird he felt. In front of his vehicle were several luxury cars, and also behind his vehicle were even more luxury cars.Every of the car moved in perfect formation. The entire convoy occupied a significant portion of the road.He couldn't help feeling slightly embarrassed. It should be that he was more amused. "I look like some important government official."Andrew sat opposite him, and remained silent even after hearing him. He chuckled. "No, seriously."Still silence."Or maybe a president."Andrew continued to say nothing. Carl rubbed his chin with a sigh. Talking to Andrew was truly exhausting. Fortunately, he had expected this and had long grown accustomed to it. Since the estate w

Since his dignity had already been thrown to the ground, he decided to go with the flow. Besides, these men worked for Benjamin. It wasn't like he would keep seeing them after he left this place.Thinking about it, the last time he had gone shopping was months ago. Back when Vivian was still around. Since then, his life had become increasingly busy and stressful, except for the one week break he gave himself. One thing after another kept happening. Treating patients, studying medicine, designing his medicine room, and meeting Louis.Everything had happened so fast that he barely had time to think. Shopping had never even crossed his mind. Now that he thought about it, he really had been wearing the same few outfits over and over again. He felt slightly embarrassed.Only slightly, there was no way he was admitting that out loud."Still not going," he said firmly.Andrew wasn't surprised at all. In fact, he looked like he had expected that answer. "Mr. Benjamin insists."He rolled his e

He gave up. There was simply no point. Benjamin would return this weekend anyway. Even if Carl somehow escaped the estate, Andrew would probably track him down before he reached the front gate. The thought was depressing, and his mood got ruined instantly. With Andrew's words, he no longer has any interest in strolling anymore. He turned around heading back for his room "I'm leaving."Andrew immediately replied. "I know."Carl stopped. "...Back to my room.""I know."Carl clenched his fists. This man was definitely doing it on purpose. He had to be. Nobody could naturally be this irritating. Gia quickly stepped forward before the situation escalated further. "Young Master Carl, shall we return?"He glanced at the smiling maid. Compared to Andrew, Gia suddenly seemed like an angel."Let's go."The two began walking away. Behind them, Andrew remained standing, while watching them leave silently, until he could no longer sight them. Meanwhile, Carl didn't bother looking back. His mood

The maid looked ahead, and he followed her gaze. His expression immediately changed.A familiar figure was standing near a stone pavilion. Tall and well dressed with his usual calm demeanor. It was Andrew. Carl blinked twice. For a moment, he almost thought he was imagining things. After all, Andrew had been missing since yesterday.Andrew noticed them almost immediately. Their eyes met across the garden, and a smile appeared on his face. Not the formal smile he usually wore. This one looked genuine. He couldn't help but wonder if it was because he'd been brought here?"Young Master Carl." Andrew walked over, his hands tuck in his pocket. Carl rolled his eyes. "There it is again."Andrew chuckled. "What?""The title."Andrew's smile widened. "I'm afraid everyone has already accepted it."Carl groaned. This estate was hopeless. Still… as he walked toward Andrew, he couldn't deny something. Seeing the man unexpectedly made him feel relieved. At least now, there was finally someone aro
