CHAPTER 37

Chris was so excited. His mind was racing and his heart was beating very fast in his chest. Monica was still alive, and at the end of the year, he was definitely going to get reconnected to her again.

"Thought you were going to throw such a great offer away," Richard nudged him as soon as they were out of the office.

Chris glanced across at his friend before shaking his head pitifully.

"You're so desperate you would do anything to get a job now, won't you?" Chris stared at him.

"Well, not anything," Richard frowned. "I would never betray my best friend, no matter how well the job promises to pay."

"That, I doubt," Chris grunted.

Richard laughed and threw him a friendly punch.

"I think we should focus on the good news now," Richard said. "It's a win win situation for the both of us. You get your girl back and I get a good job too."

"Yeah," Chris smiled. "That was some pretty tough negotiation."
