'Isn't that the cart I collected the bread from earlier this afternoon? No wonder it felt so familiar.'

Marfin couldn't help the thought as his eyes tracked the wreckage—a broken cart barely a meter away from the luxurious one still standing.

'The distance is right. So is the debris.

Judging by its structure… the weight should be manageable.'

"Gravity," he muttered.

Instantly, a massive chunk of the wooden crate tore free from the ground. It floated for a heartbeat—then shot forward, smashing into the orc's face with brutal force.

"-Guahh!"

The creature screamed, staggering backward, boots scraping as it reeled away from its prey.

"Get the hell out of there!!"

Marfin roared at the top of his lungs as he charged.

While sprinting, his hand snapped out. He ripped a sword free from a dead orc's corpse and swung it in a wide arc at the larger one.

-Clank!

Instead of cleaving flesh, the blade rebounded, the impact jarking his arm away.

'Not strong enough?

Even when that was everything I had?

Right.

This is an orc.

Not a goblin.'

The realization barely finished forming before he leapt back.

The orc recovered its balance and roared, swinging its mace in a savage arc. Marfin barely twisted aside, the weapon cutting through air where his skull had been a moment ago.

-Huff. Huff.

'Fucking system.

It just had to throw me against something far more Stronger and sturdier than me!.'

"Target its neck!! That's the weak spot!"

A shout ripped through Marfin's ears, cutting straight through the chaos.

Irritation flared instantly, his jaw tightening as his eyes snapped toward the source.

The one armed, equipped man was catching his breath as the fat man was tending his wound.

"Do I look like an idiot to you?! Or does that orc look like it's going to politely stand still while I walk up and plunge my sword into its neck?!"

His grip tightened around the hilt, knuckles whitening.

"Get your ass over here," he roared, eyes never leaving the Orc.

"and fight it yourself!!"

As his last word left his mouth, the orc lunged again.

The mace came down in a savage thrust, its shadow swallowing him whole.

Marfin threw himself sideways, boots scraping hard against the ground as he barely escaped the strike.

-CRASH!!

The carriage behind him wasn't as fortunate.

The mace smashed straight through its lavish frame.

Reinforced wood shattered like kindling, metal bands screaming as they tore apart. One entire side of the carriage collapsed inward, the impact obliterating it.

Crates burst open.

Fresh, imported food exploded across the ground—fruit pulped instantly, bread flattened under debris, wine splashing dark across splintered planks like spilled blood.

The scent of ruin enveloped the air.

Seizing the chaos, Marfin dashed forward, slid beneath the Brute Orc, and drove his sword upward into its jaw.

-Splasshh!

Hot blood exploded over his face as the blade punched through the creature's mouth.

The Orc convulsed, swinging wildly. Its hand slammed into Marfin's waist.

He was hurled backward, crashing into a tree.

-Guahh!

His vision swam as blood leaked from the corner of his mouth.

Wiping the blood from his mouth and face, he pressed a hand against his waist.

'Damn it… at least three bones are broken.'

He clicked his tongue and forced himself upright, pushing off the ground.

"Gravity!!"

He roared as a massive crate from the wreckage shot through the air toward the Orc.

-Crushh!!

However, the Orc smashed it aside with its mace and let out a deafening roar.

Dust and debris erupted into the air.

Using the cover, Marfin lunged forward once more, snatching his sword from the ground.

-SQUAAACKK!!

Having already been ambushed once by the same tactic, the Orc swung its mace in a wide arc toward Marfin...

which he barely dodged, missing it by a hair's breadth.

Breathing heavily, he locked eyes with the Orc, tracking its every movement.

'So it won't fall for the same trick twice?

Damn Orcs… it should've been a goblin I fight'

The Orc swung its mace again..this time with terrifying speed.

Already prepared, Marfin dropped low, sliding beneath the descending weapon and rolling smoothly past its arc. In the same breath, he twisted and drove his sword into the Orc's leg.

-Breeech!

The wet sound of tearing flesh split the air.

He yanked at the hilt—but the blade wouldn't budge.

'Tsk!

It's stuck!'

Marfin released the sword instantly and sprang backward.

A heartbeat later, the Orc's mace slammed down where he had stood, pulverizing the ground and flattening it with monstrous force.

"Gravity!!"

A chunk of wreckage tore free and hurtled forward, smashing straight into the Orc's eyes.

Marfin slid beneath the monster once more—but mid-motion, his breath hitched.

'The wounds… they're already gone?'

Clean. Whole. As if he'd never touched it.

He slipped between its legs, seized a sword embedded in a fallen Orc's corpse, and ripped it free in one brutal pull.

Then he ran.

-Huff… huff!

The regeneration was absurd. At this rate, it wasn't a matter of skill or effort. If it kept healing like this, he wouldn't even be able to injure it...

let alone kill it.

'What the hell do I do now?'

Meanwhile, the Orc tore a massive chunk from the lavish carriage and hurled it at him.

Marfin leapt high, narrowly avoiding the flying wreckage.

But suspended midair, his stomach dropped.

The mace was already there—swinging up at him with brutal, unavoidable speed.

"Fuck!"

The word tore out of him as instinct screamed the truth..

There's no dodging this.

Power surged through his veins in an instant.

Marfin twisted sharply—and kicked off the air itself.

A second jump.

He crashed down onto the Orc's arm, boots biting into coarse flesh as he barely maintained his balance.

'This is my chance!'

Gripping the sword with both hands, he drew it back with a snarl and brought it down toward the Orc's neck, unleashing the strike with a thunderous roar—

-CLANKKK!!

Instead of severing flesh and bone, the sword rebounded violently, its edge skidding off the Orc's neck.

"What…?"

The impact rattled his arms.

'Wasn't this supposed to be a weak spot?'

The thought barely formed before gravity reclaimed him. Marfin slammed into the ground, his vision hollow, unfocused.

There was no time to think.

The Orc's mace was already descending—aimed straight for his head.

Instinct took over.

He raised the sword to block.

-CRAAACKKK…

The sound wasn't metal.

It was bone.

The blade was ripped from his grip as the force traveled straight through his body. His left arm folded unnaturally, shattered on impact—numb, useless.

Pain finally caught up.

A scream tore out of his throat.

But to the Orc, it meant nothing.

With a guttural roar, the monster drew its mace back and swung again, aiming to crush the puny, humanlike child beneath it.

'I… is this the end?'

"Take the Commoners' Zone."There was a faint hint of indulgence in his tone."I don't know when I'll be able to roam freely again," he continued. "So I'll give our guests

Marfin popped his head out through the carriage window.Fresh air rushed in from all sides, ruffling his hair as his raccoon-like ears twitched instinctively beneath the sudden breeze.Far ahead, dominating his line of sight, rose a towering gate—systematically reinforced by stone-like walls that stretched wide and unyielding. Everything beyond them lay hidden, wrapped in secrecy. Yet even so, a lone clock tower pierced the skyline, visible above the fortress as if silently watching all who approached.Along the ramparts of the fortress, numerous beast-kin stood poised, bows drawn and arrows nocked, their silhouettes rigid against the stone. Every movement, every hardened gaze was trained outward—alert to the slightest threat that might endanger the city sheltered behind those walls."It's impressive…"Marfin silently praised the city's systematic defensive arteries, his gaze lingering on the towering walls and vigilant ramparts for several seconds longer than necessary. Then he shi

"Saved you?"Eldrin muttered the words under his breath, his eyes snapping to Marfin at once. Disbelief rose unfiltered across his face."This peepsqueak?"He turned back to Elfrez while tilting his head slightly."You're not playing some kind of joke on me… are you?""Why would I joke about that?" Elfrez shot back."W-well…" Eldrin hesitated, rubbing the back of his neck. "If you're serious, then I don't even know how to feel about it. A raccoon-kin fending off threats that even Mr. Ryden couldn't finish?"Elfrez let out a sharp laugh."Hah! Did you even take any of the lessons I taught you seriously, Eldrin?"He leaned forward slightly, eyes narrowing with intent."Never judge anyone by their appearance.""R-right…" Eldrin let out a light sigh before turning to Marfin once more.Realizing the rudeness that had slipped from him earlier, he bowed shallowly."My apologies. As they pressed on, Ryden studied Marfin from the corner of his eye, his steps never slowing."You look tired. I can carry her for you."He said it as he extended his single hand.Marfin slapped it away."No need. I can carry her forever if I have to."He glanced sideways, rolling his eyes. "Besides, I wouldn't hand my sister to a creep—someone who'd probably slice her head off the moment his so-called duty demanded it." His tone dripped with sarcasm."You keep clinging to the same mistake," Ryden replied with a low hum. Marfin stared at Elfrez for a few seconds, then tilted his head toward Ryden, who was wiping away his saliva, a deep frown stretched across his face.'They don't… remember.'The realization drew a deeper crease between Marfin's brows. His fingers tightened around Faceless as he studied the mask for a few seconds longer before lifting his gaze."It's fine… I have a rough idea of it, so there's no need to put it on right now," he said, offering the mask back to Elfrez."Keep it. It's your compensation," Elfrez replied with a light chuckle. "Weren't you concerned about your safety and secrecy?""Ah… so you're telling me to stay in disguise so no one recognizes me?" Marfin asked, tilting his head to the side."If you could remain disguised at all times, that would be even better for you," Elfrez said calmly. "After all, no one would ever learn your true identity. However…" His gaze sharpened slightly. "That kind of life would take a heavy toll on you, wouldn't it?"'Would it?' Marfin lamp
