As Devansh was busy with his thought process, meanwhile, the crowd was heating up, seeing the unexpected outcome between the rich-looking man and a pauper.

"So, the so-called pauper was actually a second-generation hidden tycoon, while the one pretending to be rich turned out to be a broke fool who can't even buy his girlfriend a gift." Hushed whispers flew around the shop among the people present.

"Damn, Syri! Good thing you took the chief’s advice seriously, or who knows what kind of disaster would’ve happened today because of some wannabe rich kid who can’t even afford a Marilyn Meri brand." Another saleslady whispered to her friend while covering her mouth with her hand.

"Yeah, I never thought things would turn out this way. Phew... Luckily, I didn’t judge him by his appearance, or I would’ve dug my own grave!" The saleslady nodded back, glancing towards Devansh and patting her chest in relief as she looked back at her friend.

"Humph... It's because of these pretentious fools that I almost made a mistake—acting all high and mighty when they can't even afford a single thing here." The saleslady muttered in an angry tone as she stared coldly at Ashen Graves.

"Hey... I heard that lady over there is the ex of that handsome young man. I just can't figure out why she’d throw away a diamond for a pebble!" A young lady present in the shop whispered to her friend quietly.

"She must have lost a few screws from her head… because no sane person would trade a golden goose for a stray pigeon." Her friend scoffed as she commented disdainfully.

"What an idiot... If I had such a chance, I wouldn't leave even if someone was putting a gun to my head...!" Another young lady commented in a hushed tone.

"You wish... you’re not getting any chances like that... hahaha!" Her friend playfully elbowed her and laughed with her hand over her mouth.

Anaya, watching Aranya Sen’s expression getting worse and worse—like she had just eaten shit—couldn't help herself and also jabbed at her.

"Hehe... Indeed, this perfume lingers longer than the cheap ones—just like a lover, the ones you steal always leave the strongest impression." Anaya said while glancing at Devansh, making sure Aranya Sen saw her.

"I must grab hold of this golden opportunity—there's no way I'm letting this big fish get away!" Anaya mumbled to herself as she smacked her lips, fiery determination in her eyes, glancing at Devansh, who was still busy with his thoughts.

"Thank you for today, my dear. You are so good to me!" Anaya Mira hugged his hand as she acted like a happy girlfriend, making Devansh look at her blankly for a second.

'What's up with her, acting like she is my girlfriend? Is she giving me a signal?' Devansh thought in his head but didn’t shy away from her hug and enjoyed the soft sensation on his hand.

'Hmm... +55 more to go, but I need to make sure she spends lots of money before her affection is maxed out.' Devansh thought, looking at her affection level, which had reversed from being negative to positive.

Meanwhile, Aranya, unable to take the whispers and people talking shit about her, decided to run away from there.

"Devansh Magnus, you've shamed and insulted me today... I swear, I will make you pay for this humiliation!" Aranya Sen shouted in a trembling tone as she ran out of the shop.

"Hmph... I'm just getting started, and you'll soon learn exactly what true humiliation feels like." Devansh muttered in a cold tone as he looked at the back of the running Aranya Sen. Just then, a holographic screen popped up.

[Name: Aranya Sen]

[Height: 162 cm]

[Weight: 46 kg]

[Appearance: 7.0/10]

[Affection Level Towards Host: -70]

[Aranya Sen meets the condition to bind for Counter-Love Attack. Would you like to initiate?]

'No... no, absolutely not. That's 4ucking disgusting. I don't want to have anything to do with that bitch.' Devansh immediately denied it and shot down the system’s response.

"Are you pleased with my performance? Watching that bitch get what she deserved was quite the treat, wasn’t it? Now, tell me—how do you plan on thanking me?" Anaya Mira beamed at Devansh, seeing the satisfied smile on his face.

'How shameless can she be? I already treated her to a bunch of gifts—what more does she expect? But hey, I'm not complaining—spend as much as you want!' Devansh thought in his head with a wry smile on his face.

"Haha, alright... tell me whatever you want, I will fulfill your every wish today." Devansh laughed at her before gesturing for her to lead the way; he would follow her around.

"Great... then what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Anaya’s smile widened upon hearing his agreement. She had only been joking at first but didn’t expect that he wouldn’t mind her request.

Anaya first gave an address to the saleslady at the shop and left the other shopping bags there so they could be sent directly to her house before she dragged Devansh from there.

Nobody paid attention to the trashy young master, who also slipped away silently—not before glancing at Devansh’s back with a malevolent smile.

.....

Anaya Mira never would have imagined that she would enjoy someone's company this much—and that someone would spend money like water on her without blinking.

She enjoyed herself very much today. She had wanted to watch a movie at the most popular cinema hall in MariaGold for a while now, and today, she finally got the VIP experience at the StarHouse Cinema Hall.

The most popular cinema hall in the city, where only premium seats were available, each costing 50,000 Aquarius.

"Damn... I always thought it was exaggerated by others, but it was so damn true. I never thought a movie could be so exciting and entertaining." Anaya expressed her surprise, looking like she had just experienced a new world.

"Yeah... I was quite surprised myself!" Devansh was still wondering why he never understood the rich people’s mindset. He had gotten to see firsthand today just how luxurious their lives could be.

He was very happy for another reason—because from the moment they entered StarHouse to the movie's ending, the system kept ringing in his head. He didn’t mind at all; in fact, his smile only widened each time he heard the chimes in his head.

"So, is there anywhere else you wanna go, or would you like to have a candlelight dinner with me?" Devansh asked before suggesting in a joking tone.

"Hey... Kiran, you better have something serious after disturbing my sweet time here, otherwise I am gonna block you!" Devansh said in a slightly angry tone as he picked up her call."Devansh... sob... sob... I am sorry to disturb you but... but, I think I got kidnapped...!" Kiran's trembling voice came from the call between her sobbing."What... wait... wait, calm down, don't cry... just tell me first where you are." Devansh was wide awake, feeling the coldness returning to his body as he asked in a gentle tone, trying to calm her down."I... I don't know. I am inside a room where I can't see anything. My hands and legs are tied up." Kiran replied with a trembling tone, her voice cracking as if barely holding herself together in fear."Don't hang up, keep the phone safe, make sure no one finds out about it. Just try to remember the last place you were before you got kidnapped." Devansh asked, his heartbeat rising. He hurriedly stood up from the bed and straightened his clothes in a r

  • 47. Getting Cockblocked

By the time he arrived back at Mira's residence, it was already quite late."Hmmn... she is still up at this time. Was she waiting for me?" Devansh looked at the lights that were on, and a warm current surged through his body, melting the tiredness away."Knock... knock...!" "Hey, Anaya. I am home." Devansh felt a strange giddiness rise in his chest as he gently knocked at the door."Click...!"Right after, the door immediately opened, and a familiar warmth enveloped him in a tight embrace."Hey, were you waiting for me?" Devansh whispered gently, hugging her back with a smile before scooping her up in a princess carry, walking into the living room, and settling down with her in his lap on the couch."Mmnn, I was waiting for you." Anaya mumbled in a quiet tone, her voice soft and affectionate, still not letting go of his embrace, as if afraid he might disappear again."Alright... alright, next time I will make sure to arrive on time." He softly caressed her silky hair, his fingers m

  • 46. Old Officer Bery Lynn

"Yes, there is but...!" Old man nodded after looking at Devansh’s earnest expression, his gaze lingering for a second."What... I can handle it, whatever they need I will provide it." Devansh patted his chest, assuring that he will handle whatever they might need to do."There are two things. First, you need to provide solid evidences which can confirm the identity of the Boss of the North District Underworld along with his heavy crimes. Only then Special Task Force will get permission to act against them from Head of Police." Old Officer said in serious tone, making it clear to Devansh that without those evidences, nothing could be done."What's the second thing? You didn’t mention, Uncle." Devansh asked, wondering why Old Officer didn’t tell him the whole thing at once."Can you even complete the first task!" Old Officer looked at Devansh like he was staring at a rash person who doesn’t know when to back down."It does sound very tough to accomplish, but it's not impossible. I might

  • 45. Old Officer

"Hmmn... let me see, he has blonde hair...!" Just as Inspector Mark Spencer said blonde hair, Devansh had a look of realization flash across his face."Ahh... yes, I know that person. I just didn’t recall the name." Devansh nodded but felt a sting of embarrassment creep up his neck. Not knowing the name of someone from his own class made him feel a little awkward."So, do you have any feud with him?" Inspector Mark asked again, his eyes narrowing slightly as he studied Devansh’s expression."I don’t think I have ever fought with him, maybe a little argument... but nothing major." Devansh replied honestly, shaking his head. He never had any real conflict with that arrogant punk, at least nothing he would consider serious."Hmmn... but it’s written in the report that this young man Karnish Kaur made a deal with the North District Underworld Boss to target you. If there isn’t any feud, why would he go so far?" Inspector Mark looked at the report again before staring directly at Devansh.

  • 44. Smiling Devil

East District,Inside the prison ward, where suspects are kept for interrogation after the normal methods failed to break them."Ahhh... Please sto... stop... Ahhh...!" A loud, agonized scream tore through the silence, echoing violently off the cold stone walls of the prison. It came from behind the thick iron bars of one of the rooms, sending a chill down the spines of the other inmates. "He is at again...!"Those in nearby cells fell silent, shivering with dread as the raw, guttural pain in the voice reminded them of their own fate."Why should I? Didn’t you just say you wouldn’t spill anything? Well then..." The middle-aged officer chuckled softly, crouching beside the broken man lying on the floor, his voice disturbingly calm. "Let’s see just how loyal you really are to your boss." His brown hair was slicked back neatly, and his moustache twitched slightly with every word. A smile — far too composed for what he was doing — stayed frozen on his face."But... but you said you

  • 43. Sparks And Gunpowder Exploding

"Hey, Resma... who did you get this gift from? It looks pretty expensive." A few personal friends came over to Resma, their eyes catching the beautifully crafted necklace resting elegantly on her neck. There was a visible spark of curiosity and admiration in their expressions."Hehe... it’s from my best friend, Ranran." Resma smiled proudly, her hand instinctively touching the necklace as she gave a playful thumbs-up toward her best friend’s boyfriend, who sat quietly in the corner."It wouldn't be less than a million, right?" another friend asked, her gaze fixed on the necklace, clearly intrigued."Now, now... don’t underestimate my Ranran’s love for me. It’s no less than five million." Resma Luis replied in a delighted tone, already aware of how rare and precious the necklace was. She looked like a girl who had just gotten her dream gift and couldn’t wait to show it off."Whoa... five million. It really does look like it’s worth that much." Her friends nodded, some in awe, others in
