First encounter with the demons (1)

The sound of the bell made the expression of many people present to change drastically and immediately , everywhere became very chaotic.

People ran towards different directions for their lives. Some people even abandoned their families, shops and belongings as they all scrambled for their lives.

"The demons are coming !!! , the demons are coming !!". A young man wearing lose torn robes shouted loudly as he ran across the street with immense speed.

The sudden change in the situation made Nero to be temporary confused as he did not know what to do.

Should he run towards his house or run back to the school ?.

"Quick !, grab some weapons in the weapon store !". Vera suddenly yelled out as she immediately sprang into action , grabbing a long sword on the weapon rack.

" The nearest underground shelter is the located in the school and if we rush towards that direction , it would take several minutes and with the speed of the demons , we will be caught !!". Vera said hurriedly as she grabbed another iron shield that was covered with different claw marks.

The underground shelter was used to hide from the demons whenever they invaded. Normally , each house had an underground shelter built under it although it could no compare to the large shelters in terms of security and durability.

Nero suppressed his anxiety and grabbed a bow from the weapon rack. He also took a quiver that was filled with arrows and two short swords which he strapped to his thigh.

Ted grabbed two short axes and waved them wildly making Vera to give him a resounding knock on his head.

"Be serious !!". Vera glared at Ted while looking at Nero who was checking out the power of the bow by drawing the string back and forth.

"Since when did you become good with arrows ?". Vera raised her eyebrows with confusion.

Ever since she had known Nero , he had always practiced with the sword and it was extremely strange for him to use a bow as a weapon.

"This is not time to play around , use the weapon you are familiar with ". Vera could not help but warn him.

She did not want to see him die before he could shoot a single arrow.

"Don't worry, I know a thing or two about archery". Nero smiled slightly as he adjusted the quiver that was strapped to his back.

Before reincarnating to this world , he was a three time world champion in archery before he went down with cancer. He was also extremely good with close combat techniques.

Feeling the strength in his two arms , Nero nodded with satisfaction. The children in this world had strength that surpassed their age. The strength in this young body rivaled that of a twenty year old man.

Roar !!!!

A monster kind of roar sounded in the air as heavy wind blew across the entire street scattering many shops.

"We need to hide now !!". Vera shouted as the trio immediately rushed to one empty building by the side with immense speed.

As they rushed into the empty building , a huge shadow flew across the sky and a human screamed in the distance with pain.

"The door ". Vera signalled Nero who gently closed the door of the building with a gentle push.

The building that they rushed into was a restaurant but right now, the light in the reception area was kinda of dim and the chairs was scattered on the ground.

Many leftover foods could be seen on the various tables. The warning bell must have made them desert the entire place.

"Put out the candles ". Vera muttered softly as Ted gently snuffed out the three candles on the shelf and the room became darker.

Nero swallowed his saliva as his heart pounded wildly.

The hand that uses to hold the bow was shaking slightly and he took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down.

Six pair of eyes watched the door cautiously , their vigilance extremely high.

Ted placed himself against the wall with the two axes in his hands.

Vera positioned herself behind the reception desk with her shield placed in front of her.

Nero on the other hand hid in a darker place , nearly invisible to the naked eyes. He knew as a sharpshooter , he needed to be in the dark to accurately kill his targets.

Normally , every child since the Advent of the demons must undergo training from young age in the use of different weapons.

So every child is more or less versed in a particular weapon.

Boooom!! boooom!! the building shook constantly as a terrifying battle seemed to be going on outside the building.

Roar !! Roar !! Roar !! the sound of the demon roared out incessantly as the sound of weapons colliding continued to echo outside the building.

"Ahhhh!!". A human cry abruptly sounded before it suddenly stopped .

The shaking of the building immediately stopped as everywhere became extremely quiet.

Boooom!! boooom!! the demons seemed to be moving slowly as the ground started to shake intensely.

The trio in the room all held their breath as they cautiously listened to the sound of the demon moving away from their location.

Suddenly , a figure ran out from one of the closed doors in the restaurant racing towards the entrance.

"Stop him !". Vera shouted but it was already too late.

The short man who ran out immediately opened the door and ran outside without any care for his life.

"Damn !, prepare for battle !!". Vera immediately roared out as she drew out her sword and jumped over the reception desk.

She knew that the moment the man ran out of he restaurant , their location was already compromised.

Roar !! the demon roared out suddenly and a loud sound echoed across the street.

The man screamed with immense pain before he suddenly stopped.

Boooom!! boooom!! the building started shaking Intensely as the demon approached the building slowly.

"It's now or never ". The expression of Nero immediately became determined as he slowly took out an arrow from the quiver and nocked it on his bow.

He immediately drew the bow and positioned himself very well with his arrow pointing towards the entrance of the restaurant.

He calmed down his nerves and entered into combat state because he knew that if he could not defend himself against the approaching demon only death awaited him.

Boooom!! the door of the restaurant was smashed to pieces as an ugly claw that was stained with red blood slowly extended into the room from outside.
