EARNING GOLDEN EYES

Since all my babbling fell on Betty's deaf ears, I became annoyed at her, opened my mouth wide and burst into a loud cry.

"Shh!" Betty put her wide palm over my mouth to hush my hysterical cry. She shakes her head in anger, frowns and lets out, "you are evil for trying to wake all the babies with your stupid cries."

I ignored Betty's insult, inhale deeply and cried louder as Alicia's footsteps stepped closer to my cot.

"Ugly face hasn't slept yet, has he?"

"No, Alicia. He is crying like a banshee and trying to wake everyone up... What can I do to make him sleep?"

"He is pulling your face towards him with your ponytail. I think he wants you to kiss him."

"Yes, Betty. That's exactly what I want," I mumbled and immediately stop my insane cry.

"Hmm... Did you think he will sleep if I kiss him?" Betty asked with her usual angry look.

"Yeah, Betty. Kiss me and I will fall asleep instantly. Otherwise-."

"I am not talking to you, Ugly-face," Betty cut into my babbling, sighed when Alicia shrugged and waved her palm, and then hissed as I giggle and tried to pull her face close to my mouth.

At the speed of light, Betty's lip crushed mine, and I immediately cling to her and sucked with pleasure.

"Hmm... It's okay, Ugly-face," Betty mumbled as she removed her lips from mine, she grinned and let out, "you need to sleep now, please."

"I will, sweetheart," I babble back, smile and close my eyes as she placed me on her chest, dancing and began to sing me a lullaby. 

"Is he sleeping?" Alicia asked. 

"I think so, he had close his eyes."

I pretend as if I am asleep, and even snore softly. For all I care, Betty can spend the night with the devil if she likes.

"I need to go, Alicia," Betty uttered as she put me inside my cot and draped a blanket over me.

"If you are sure he is sleeping, then you can go. But don't forget, be back earlier and come with a nice gift for me."

"Of course, Babe... Muah! You are an angel."

"Huh!.. Stop. You can't kiss me with the mouth you just used to kiss Ugly-face," Alicia taunt Betty as she tried to kiss her cheek.

"Have you forgotten you have kissed him also?"

"I remembered. It was during a truth and dare game, and I had hated him with passion since then," Alicia answered back.

"I need to go, Alicia. We will talk when I am back."

"Come back earlier, babe."

"I will, dear."

I was almost falling asleep when the usual ding-ding sound boomed beside me, and the automated voice announced.

"Congratulations to you for achieving your first mission. You have gained 10,000 points for levelling up."

"What can I do with the 10,000 points?" I asked the automated voice. 

"You can buy golden eyes. It cost 9,500 points and you will still be having 500 points in reserve."

"Will the eyes make me look less ugly," I muttered with excitement at the thought of having golden pupils. 

"Yes. Will you like to purchase the golden eyes?" 

"Yes, please.  But I don't know its usefulness."

"It will allow you to see clearly in the dark, and make your face to be less horrible," the automated voice replied. 

Though I don't see the importance of having eyes that see in darkness, the fact that having them will make me a bit desirable made me nod my head in agreement with the transaction. 

"Golden eyes activated... You have 500 points remaining... New task, you must suck Mother Maggie's breast before you reach the age of two."

"What the hell!" I exclaimed with a shocked face, inhaling in and exhaling out abruptly, and then letting out, "this task is impossible for me to achieve because I don't sleep close to Mother Maggie's section of the orphanage home.

"Find a means, or be prepared to die and go to hell," the automated voice hissed back. 

"You won't help me, will you?"

"I apologise, but I can't help. I am just here to instruct you about your task, give you the prize and add all your achievements to your profile."

"Gush!" I exclaimed, close my eyes and was instantly lost in my dreamland. 

After hours of deep sleep, I was pulled out of my dreamland when Alice pick me up from my cot and then stare at me as I opened my eyes and smiled at her.

"Holy Maddona... What happened to your eyes?"

I blinks my eyes and smiled to reassure Alice that I am okay.

Alice gazed at my golden pupils and I can see the confusion in her eyes as she carried me towards the rest of the nuns.

"What did you do to Ugly-face's eyes?" Alice asked. 

"Nothing... What happened to him?"

"Take a look at his golden eyes!"

"Oh my goodness!" Alicia exclaimed. 

"I said it... I said this boy is a demon but nobody is listening to me," Betty mumbled. 

"Are you sure you didn't do anything to him?.. He was having hazel eyes when I left him yesternight."

Betty peered at Alicia's face, sighed when Alicia shrugged, turned towards Alice and let out," we don't know anything about the change of his eyeballs."

"Then I need to show him to Mother Maggie. We don't know if it's a kind of infectious sickness," Alice announced, placed me on her shoulder and carried me towards Madam Maggie's room.

My eyes darted around the long corridor and I was giggling with happiness when Alice stopped in front of a wooden door and knocked thrice.

"Come in," A voice that belonged to Madam Maggie boomed inside the closed door.

Alice peeked at my eyes for the tenth time, sighed as her hand pulled the door open, and then hurried close to Madam Maggie.

"What is wrong with Ugly-face?" Madam Maggie asked. 

"Something strange, Ma," Alice answered back as she removed me from her shoulder. She turned my face at Mother Maggie and announced, " look at his eyeballs."

"Why did it turn to golden colour?"

"We don't have any idea, Ma?"

"Is he seeing very well?"

"Yes. And he seemed not to be feeling any discomfort as well."

"We will take him for a medical check-up as soon as possible. You can go."

"Okay, ma."

I bat my eyes and giggled as Alice turned to leave.

"The boy seemed to love to be with you. I am sure a great bond is growing between the two of you.

"I felt pity for him. He has no one, ugly and weak, and that is why I decided to always be there for him."

"Thank you, my love," I babble out, and then giggled louder after. 

"I have started making plans for him to be adopted. I hope you won't be too attached to him and got hurt when he did?"

I could hear Alice's heartbeat as she peered into my eyes, then back at Madam Maggie, and asked, "when will he be adopted?" 

"As soon as possible."

"Goddamint!" I exclaimed with shock, bit my lower lip and prayed silently," holy Maddona. Please don't let me be adopted until I suck Mother Maggie's nipple."
