"Thank you." She mused, unable to look him straight in the face because she didn't want him to see the tears that clouded her eyes.

Damon stood up and went closer to her before he sat down again, "I know I wasn't the best partner to you, I keep secrets but I did everything with your safety in mind Athena but still, I'm sorry and I want you to know that if you give me another chance in your life I'll be a better partner than I was when we faked our marriage." He stated and Athena shot her head up.

"Wait, what? What are you talking about?" She asked in shock as she blinked back her tears.

"I'm not asking you to marry me but I want us to be in a relationship, and get to know each other before we walk down the aisle. If you don't like our relationship then you're free to walk out, I promise I'll not force you." He said and Athena's lip parted but no words came out.

"Say something, I know it's unlikely and believe me, I'm not asking you out because o
