After allowing his mental energy to recover somewhat, Lin Wuchen began the process of Returning to Nothingness.

Following the method recorded within the first volume of the Nihility Dao Scripture, the spiritual qi coursing through his meridians gradually changed direction, flowing back toward his dantian.

The instant the last strand entered it, everything fell deathly silent. The spiritual qi that had once churned endlessly within his dantian came to a complete standstill, as though time itself had frozen.

Then… without the slightest sound, the spiritual qi slowly unraveled, dissolving like morning mist beneath the rising sun.

One strand after another lost its form before quietly fading into nothingness. There was no violent explosion, no terrifying backlash. Only an eerie, absolute silence.

As the spiritual qi continued to disperse, Lin Wuchen could clearly feel his cultivation base steadily regressing.

An hour later, not a single strand of spiritual qi remained within his body. His cultivation had completely vanished. It was as though he had never cultivated a single day in his life.

But the transformation was far from over.

The dantian itself suddenly began to collapse inward.

It did not shatter, nor did it crack. Instead, it folded into itself as though an invisible force were compressing the very fabric of space smaller and smaller until nothing remained. No dantian, no spiritual qi, no cultivation.

Only a silent, boundless void occupied the place where his dantian had once existed.

Lin Wuchen had never felt so empty. Yet, strangely, there was no panic, only an indescribable stillness.

His consciousness instinctively swept through his body to check for other changes and as he did, his eyes widened slightly.

His sea of consciousness had changed as well.

Previously, his Sea of Consciousness had been little more than a tiny expanse shrouded in thin grey mist.

Now, at its center lay a small pool of ink-black water, no more than ten feet in diameter. It was utterly calm, its surface devoid of the slightest ripple.

Beyond that ten-foot radius, the endless grey mist still stretched into the distance, as though waiting for the black waters to one day consume it.

After confirming the changes within his body, Lin Wuchen took a deep breath and began drawing the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi into his newly formed Void Dantian.

The moment the Spiritual Qi came into contact with the endless black void, it silently disintegrated into nothingness.

Lin Wuchen remained completely composed. He had already expected this.

Without the slightest hesitation, he continued absorbing the surrounding Spiritual Qi.

Time gradually slipped by. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, a single strand of qi slowly emerged from the boundless void. It possessed no discernible form, yet its existence was unmistakable.

“Nihility Qi…”

The first strand born from absolute nothingness.

Hours passed unnoticed. By the time night had descended upon the Lin Clan, Lin Wuchen had successfully stepped into the First Stage of the Qi Gathering Realm.

After successfully stepping into the First Stage of the Spirit Gathering Realm and condensing his first strand of Nihility Qi, Lin Wuchen decided it was enough for the day.

He slowly exhaled before lying back on the bed and drifting into a deep sleep.

…..

The following morning…

"How is he? Have his injuries fully healed?" Lin Beichen asked the elderly man standing before him.

The old man was none other than the Lin Clan's most trusted physician—Lu Yuanming.

However, everyone simply called him Old Lu.

Lying on the bed was Lin Wuchen. True to his word, Lin Beichen had summoned Old Lu not only to examine his injuries but also to determine the cause of his partial memory loss.

"Hm." Old Lu nodded after withdrawing his hand from Lin Wuchen's wrist. "His injuries have completely healed. There are no hidden injuries left behind."

"What about his memories? Why can he remember some things yet forget others?" Lin Beichen asked, his brows furrowing.

Old Lu slowly stroked his beard. "That... I cannot say for certain. Judging from his condition, it is most likely temporary."

He paused before his expression suddenly became grave. "However... there is a far more pressing issue. The young master's cultivation has regressed."

"What?"

Lin Beichen's expression changed instantly.

"What do you mean his cultivation has regressed?" Without another word, he extended his divine sense toward Lin Wuchen, carefully examining the condition of his body.

Lin Wuchen immediately felt a foreign spiritual energy enter his body, heading straight toward his dantian.

Pfft!

Lin Beichen suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood as his face turned pale.

"Patriarch!" Old Lu's expression changed drastically as he hurried over.

"I'm... fine."

Lin Beichen waved him off, his gaze never leaving Lin Wuchen.

The moment he heard Old Lu mention Lin Wuchen's cultivation, he had instinctively extended his divine sense into his son's body to inspect his dantian.

However, the instant his divine sense reached it a mysterious force within the dantian silently erased it.

Making him suffer a backlash. Had he not withdrawn his divine sense in time, the consequences would have been far more severe.

Then again, he was stunned by what he saw.

There was no dantian—or rather, his dantian had transformed into a pitch-black void, resembling a bottomless abyss.

"Could it be... that was what absorbed his cultivation?" he couldn't help but wonder, his expression turning solemn.

No matter how he looked at it, there was no way Lin Wuchen could be unaware of such a drastic change to his own body.

Soon after, he dismissed Old Lu, saying he would send for him again if anything came up.

Once only father and son remained in the room, Lin Beichen finally spoke. "Do you have any idea why your cultivation regressed?"

Lin Wuchen had already anticipated this question.

There was no way he could feign ignorance. After all, such a drastic change to his dantian was impossible not to notice.

That said, he had no intention of revealing the whole truth either.

"Hm... I think it has something to do with the change in my dantian," Lin Wuchen replied after a moment of thought.

"And what exactly changed?"

Lin Wuchen slowly shook his head. "I'm not entirely sure... but I don't think it's a bad thing."

"What do you mean?" Lin Beichen asked, a trace of confusion appearing on his face. "It devoured your cultivation."

"I think..." Lin Wuchen began, carefully observing his father's expression, "...it might have been caused by the awakening of a hidden constitution.”
