His head snapped toward the beast egg resting on the bed. To his surprise, the egg had begun to quiver ever so slightly.

A hint of astonishment flashed across his eyes. This was the first time the egg had shown any sign of life.

Picking it up, he carefully examined it and immediately noticed that the life force within, which had previously remained almost completely dormant, had become noticeably more active.

As the final rankings settled, the discussions among the disciples gradually subsided. The elder swept his gaze across the crowd before speaking once more."The rankings for the Second Trial have been finalized. The tournament rewards shall now be distributed according to the overall standings.""Third Place, Wei Yueyan. Step forward." His voice echoed throughout the martial arena.A graceful young woman dressed in flowing silver robes stepped out from the crowd. Her movements were elegant and unhurried, each step carrying a quiet nobility that naturally drew countless gazes."That's Wei Yueyan, the youngest daughter of the Wei Family.""She's even more beautiful than the rumors claimed.""Not only is she beautiful, her talent is equally monstrous."Ignoring the surrounding whispers, Wei Yueyan walked onto the battle platform before respectfully cupping her fists."This disciple, Wei Yueyan, greets Elder."The elder nodded faintly before flicking his sleeve. Confusion flashed across the clone's face. "...What do you mean?""Take a closer look," Lin Wuchen replied calmly. The clone hesitated for a brief moment before directing its consciousness inward. The instant it did, its pupils shrank.Countless wisps of pitch-black Qi were silently wreaking havoc throughout its body, disrupting the circulation of its Spiritual Qi and steadily corroding everything they came into contact with. At first glance, they bore a striking resemblance to Decay Qi. However, the longer it observed them, the more apparent the difference became. This Qi did not merely decay… It erased."Do you understand now?" Lin Wuchen asked, a faint smile still on his face. The clone slowly raised its head, its expression turning grave. "What... is that black Qi?""There's no need for you to know. After all... you'll be dead soon," Lin Wuchen said calmly. "I'm rather interested in claiming first place. The sooner I defeat you, the higher my ranking."As the words fell, his aura

Lin Wuchen's gaze shifted to the swirling black Qi enveloping his clone's palm."Nihility Qi... No, it's different," he muttered, his brows knitting together. It possessed many of the same characteristics as Nihility Qi, yet its aura felt fundamentally different. There was an indescribable quality to it that he couldn't quite grasp. Before he could dwell on it any longer, his clone shot forward once more.In the span of a few breaths, the two exchanged dozens of blows. Sword after sword clashed in rapid succession, each strike met with an equally precise counter. It was as though the clone could foresee his every move before he even made it, effortlessly countering every attack and leaving him without the slightest opening.Clang!Their swords collided once more, neither able to gain the upper hand."Is that all you've got?" the clone mocked, a faint sneer curling at the corners of his lips. "If this is the extent of your strength, you can forget about passing this trial."Lin Wuchen

As soon as his words fell, his figure gradually faded from sight. With three hours to recover before the next trial, the disciples scattered throughout the martial arena, looking for a spot to rest and recuperate. Although the Illusory Battlefield had caused them no physical injuries, the prolonged battle had placed an immense strain on their minds and had drained them mentally.Lin Wuchen found a quiet corner of the arena and sat down cross-legged, entering a meditative state to recuperate.…Three hours later...Dong!A deep bell chime reverberated throughout the central martial arena, instantly rousing every disciple from their meditation. The elder once again appeared above the battle platform
