2022-04-26 07:55:27The veteran squad was the most elite front line squad of the hunters.
They were a part of the warrior unit of the hunters which consisted of the best close up combat ability users and ranged ability users.The warrior unit consisted of range ability and close up combat fighters, depending on the mission, it could be a mixture of both department or just one.
It looked like the warrior unit would be going out on a hunt today as they were all seen sharpening blades and gearing up rather than training.
This in a way gave Yang an idea.What other way to give the guests a tour of the hunters faction than to carry them on a hunt.
He walked up to one of the men standing around taking a swing of his long blade while the others were selecting weapons from behind him.
"Say how would you like to get an additional boost to your squad today ..I mean it sure looks like you could use some help".
The man he was talking to right now was called Zayn. He was the team captain of the E ranked squad within the warriors unit. The thing is, depending on how much beast cores you brought back and level of beast you encounter, the more rewards you get in rankings and coins.
Right now Zayn and his crew are next to the lowest ranked unit the, F unit. This is not only because his squad had weaker members compared to the average higher ranked unit but because they had poor equipment and sorts to begin with.So the idea of having extra team mates wasn't exactly bad, the only worrying thought he had on his mind was how the reward from the hunt was going to be shared since it would barely be enough for his original crew in the first place.
And as if Yang could read his mind, chimed in to his thought...
" Everything would be fine!...remember they are only teens and don't boast that much strength or experience. How much contribution can they make? " Yang said with an awkward smile attached to the end of his statement.What Yang was hinting at was the old hunting rule where he who gets the last hit, gets to take the cores out and this idea just sounded enticing to Zayn as he thought what could possibly go wrong
..." I'd order my team to allow this stupid teens weaken the beast then we'd get the kill".. Zayn thought to himself feeling nothing could go wrong so he welcomed the idea.
Yang walked back to the group grinning as ever like someone who had won a lottery..
" I finally found the best way to show you guys around..... By sending you hunting with a squad in the hunters"
"Mr Zayn over here.." He gestured with his hand making them look over at the man he just finished talking to... "will be your squad leader".
This all came as a surprise to them. But they knew little about how the traditions around here worked and just thought to go with the flow of things. Besides none of them wanted to anger the one who had saved them and neither were they ready to pass off the opportunity of gaming a few beast cores.
While they waited around to get their gears as instructed by Yang to be given to them, looking off to the side was Blair who noticed that there had been one member of the squad who had not said a word since they've been together, so he thought to himself ..." Hey maybe she's a little shaken up from the game Lord event that happened earlier.."'... So he made up his mind to go to her rescue.
He gently walked up to the lady who went by the name Blaze, a dark haired lady who originally belonged to the faction that Erwin, the red haired boy belonged to. These were the last five that had joined in on the event of the lava rain.
"Hey there,I'm Blair..I noticed you a.."...
"Noticed what?" Blaze asked almost immediately cutting Blair off. The latter who was a little shocked by her behavior decided a different approach ...
"So what's your ability... grabbing my attention? "...Blair said with a smog look feeling he had nailed the line there..The female on the other hand just looked at him for some seconds before replying
"What do you want from me". And on hearing this, Blair felt like this was his chance so he immediately went in again to try to look good..
"I just wanna know you ...you know ..we become friends and I'll make sure to protect you from any beast we might encounter.." And as the gist got to the female a smile appeared on her face which to his surprise, it actually seemed like his little flirting had worked. But things were about to go sour as the girl smiled and looked at him before saying...
"Oh don't worry, i don't need protection from the beast ...but they surely do from me"...and almost instantly it felt like Blair was imagining it but he could see smoke coming off her hands as she turned around with her black long hair flowing down to her waist seemingly in resonance with her majestic yet fearsome steps.And at that point all Blair had to say was ....
" DAMN...SHE'S FIRE"....
