Dark knight: Game on

Friday is considered the second best day of the week for both students and workers. With Saturday being the best day of the week, well unless you work on Saturdays then that just sucks.

And for Rodney Hart, the latter Was the case as he walked back from school quickly to get home and do the one thing he proclaimed he was born to do, PLAY GAMES.

Rodney had just arrived home and had quickly rushed off to the kitchen to see if his mother was there.

"Mum!!!...mum!!?.. Your son is home"..he proclaimed.

Then he quickly realised how stupid he was to be shouting so loudly knowing his mother would probably still be at work, since she closed as late as seven o'clock depending on her work shift. He grabbed the lunch his mother had made him from the microwave machine and went straight to his room. He dropped the food on his bed and got out of his cloths and went to the bathroom for a quick shower. After getting out of the shower, he dried himself and took out a new pair of clothes and wore before descending on the helpless plate of food, devouring it without remorse.

And when he was done eating he rushed straight to turn on his gaming set, plugged in a headphone  and grabbed the gaming pad

"It's game time"...he said as he sat on the chair and began playing his new found favourite game called .."THE HEAT".

"The one place where I'm famous" he said with a smile as the game welcomed him in displaying [level 32],

He got to work quickly moving his avatar in the game around a place that seemed like a Town square, then the screen went blank and a disturbing message popped up.

[ Experiencing some technical difficulties].

He thought it to be the internet signal at home and cursed within himself..." Ahh damn

internet ...always ruining my moment " he cursed out loud dropping the gaming pad. And just then immediately as the pop up went down, the console began to emit a green light.

"What the....."before he knew it, he had been sucked into the game in a flash. The whole thing seemed to have happened in the blink of an eye and just like that the game went back to how it was, showing no signs of any weird occurrence.

The game in itself is an adventure game where you'd level up to eventually move on top of the ranks by completing quests and defeating beasts. Chances of success are increased by  acquiring high tier gear and weapons from beast cores.

Not too far away somewhere in the city of ZOA where Rodney lives, two friends were seen sitting in what lookedto be a living room playing the same game "The heat", when they got the same notification.

" Dang it!!

.. I was just about to finish off that beast!" One complained.

" Hey what do you think is wrong  with... Oh never mind, its back on" ...the other boy said and just like that, a green light began to glow from the console and then he was sapped inside the game as well,leaving his friend utterly confused.

Before Rodney knew it he was already inserted into another world, the feeling felt different yet the same.It was like he was in a different body but yet it felt the same.He could tell not much had changed because he could feel every normal sensation that came his way. From the wind that blew his hair and to the sun,It all felt natural.

His appearance was now as that of his avatar though not much had changed regarding his face Right now he was taking the form of the avatar he had customised when he first started the game. Although he made changes along the way, nothing really changed from having a short black curly hair with black eye pupils with a brown pants and white top and a long black coat with black boots.

He looked around and breath a sigh of relief,glad he somewhat had an idea and recognised where he was at. Itwas the town square where all the shops are situated and the hunters come to trade their bounty for money and buy stuffs like food, clothing, some weapons or meet the blacksmith to craft an armour or a weapon with the crystals gotten.

"What are we doing here"...a male figure said with confusion on his face as he looked for answers

"I'm meant to be in my room,what's going on?".Different voices could be heard from the people gathered as they were confused about what was happening.

"Look, isn't that dragon flame?" someone in the crowd said referring to Rodney. Considering the game could be both offline and online. With the leader boards and ranking displayed, It wasn't exactly strange that the people knew each other by their avatars. And Rodney happens to be a famous player too. This made sense as all he ever does aside go to school was sit at home and play games.

A girl with a pink long hair dressed in a white top and black pants with red thread and with one leg  short and the other reaching the feet with a black boot approached him.

"Hi am pink rose" she said putting her hand out for a handshake

"I'm dragon flame" Rodney replied shaking her hand.

" Say... Do you have any clue about what is going on here ?" Rodney asked following up the handshake.

"I don't know how we got here ..all i noticed was all the levels have been reset back to 1". The one known as pink rose replied.

"What?! Impossible....i worked so hard for this" Rodney said looking like he would faint any minute. Then having doubts as to how credible the piece of information she had just given was,he proceeded to ask her.

"Say do you know how to check the levels?" Rodney asked.

" Yeah just tap on your waist" pink rose replied.

Rodney found it strange that she knew this much and couldn't help but wonder how long she had been in this new... "place" he struggled to come up with the right term to describe the place they were in now.

Rodney did go on to tap on his waist from which a screen popped up directly at his face.

"Can you see this too?" He asked referring to the screen in front of his eyes.

" No silly,we each get our own systems i suppose...i can't see yours,you can't see mine". The screen in front of him currently displayed the power level, crystals, equipped gear and inventory, with a few greyed out tabs.

"If I remember correctly this is not how the game i played worked..I don't know about.. ". Pink rose was about to say before a voice rang out.

"Look.... The sky" a player screamed pointing at the sky as some red cloud began to block the sun and a face appeared in it.
