The Chase(2)

A black sedan parked outside the city hall while five men men came down from the car, Alex walked over to the security guards then asked "Where is the governor's son?"

A middle aged guard came out and answered "I'm the captain of the guards here, my name is Daniel." He said then pointed at a house a few walks down the street.

" He went into that house, it's just a few walks down the street and someone's watching over the house already."

"Would you mind escorting us there please, just show us the way and we'll make sure we're not going to the wrong place, thank you." Alex said with a smile on his face.

"Alright then, follow me." Daniel said then walked towards the house with the rest in tow.

"Is he still inside?" Daniel asked a man in his early twenties he met there.

"Yes he's still inside"

"Okay you can leave, I'll take care of the rest." Daniel said.

Alex asked "Do you know what he's there for?"

"That's the house he rented for his girlfriend apparently so I don't think they'll come out in a short while." He said while looking towards Alex.

Alex's veins almost bulged out hearing this. 'If he does not come out soon I might really barge inside and take him for questioning regardless of whatever he's doing, I have better things to be doing right now' he thought then stared at the house.

At that exact moment, their target "Lucien" walked out of the house and started walking down the streets with a relieved smile on his face.

"Well, that was quick, that's him" Daniel said while pointing at Orion.

"Do you notice any sort of difference?" Alex asked.

"Difference... Sorry but I don't understand" he replied with a confused look on his face.

"Any difference from how he acted or behaved before today??"

Daniel scratched his head and stared at Orion again before replying "He's still the same I don't think there's any difference"

"You know what? Just forget it, let's go, go back to your station thanks for the help" he said to the others beside him and they all walked towards Orion.

"Hello Mr "Lucien" we would like to ask a few questions from you please."

"Colored lights, they all have colored lights, this can't be good" Orion thought but outwards he maintained a smile while acting normal.. tried to.

'He's nervous, even his hands are shaking. Either he's just usually nervous or something's wrong'

"My name's Alex, nice to meet you" he said while stretching out an hand.

Orion looked at the stretched hand carefully, then looked at the five men standing in front him with menacing aura.

'They definitely don't look like people who want to talk' he thought. 'But I can definitely get something from this' he thought then gladly accepted the handshake.

"Nice to meet you, my name's Lucien, oh you know that already right?" He replied with a cheerful smile on his face, holding tight to Alex hand.

Taken by surprise, Alex looked at Orion who he had expected to reject the handshake, then coughed silently. "Well, sorry to bother you but would you mind coming with us for a bit?"

"Oh sure, I have no problem with that" Orion said then released his hand from Alex's hand and moved to the next person stretching out his hand.

"What's wrong? Nothing much I guess we'll be spending a bit of time together so it's better to know the names of my new acquittances" he said with a huge smile on his face. 'Looks like I hit the jackpot.'

Alex stood there with his face twitching madly 'What is going on here right now? He was nervous earlier and acting all cheerful now or is he faking it? Forget it let him do whatever he wants for now, if he tries to play any trick I won't let it go easily' he said while watching "Lucien" shake the next man then proceed to hug him for a while and after a few minutes he released him and moved onto the next person.

'I don't know why but watching him do this is so annoying.' Alex said with twitching eyebrows while watching Lucien for any suspicious movements.

After a while, Lucien was done exchanging pleasantries with the last man in crew and returned to Alex's side while looking at the cells with constant colors on his body, a total of eight now, what if I stored the cells of all the mutants? Isn't this too overpowered or does it have a limit?

Orion thought while lost in thought then Alex woke him up from his daydreams

"Since you're done now, please don't make this hard for us and put this on, we only need a answers to our few questions and will let you go after that with no harm done." Alex said while holding out a pair of handcuffs to him.

"Oh, sorry I have somewhere to go real quick right now I don't think I can go over." He said then turned around and started walking out of the alley with a calm manner like nothing happened.

The five stood dumbfounded for a moment then one shouted "Catch him!!!"

Orion suddenly threw away the briefcase and took to his heels without looking back for a single second. Running as far as he could. The thought of going to the station with them didn't even cross his mind.

If he followed them to the station and was asked questions he had no answers to or if Lucien was found moving outside his identify would be discovered. It wasn't a risk he would take, as long as he could find a safe location and switch forms there was no way they'd find him.

Orion looked back and saw one of the five with a slim stature standing at 1.6 meters tall sprinting towards him at an insane speed.

'He's catching up! I need to do something ' he thought then looked at his right hand,. Focusing on the green cell he got from rocky his body suddenly grew taller and a surge if strength passed through his body. He almost tripped to the ground due to the sudden change he wasn't expecting.

The others chasing behind also saw this obvious change "He's a shapeshifter!"

"The governor was actually right." Alex said with sharp eyes staring at Orion. "I'm not letting him go"

Orion looked back then said "Byee, see ya around" kicking up his feet and sprinting at a speed that almost seemed blurry to the normal eyes he ran across the streets and out of their sights.

"Forget it, it's pointless for now, return to the base and report to the captain, there's a rogue shapeshifter on the loose." Alex said while rubbing his forehead.

"This is going to be a lot of stress".
