Smith slowly opened his eyes, his head pounding. He lifted it slightly.“You’re awake?” Jackson muttered, immediately drawing Smith’s attention. Jackson was lying directly beneath him, far too close for comfort. Jackson was dragged, struggling to restrain the dagger as he gripped it tightly, but the weapon fought back harder against his grasp.“Stay still!” Jackson shouted in frustration. The dagger slipped free from his grip and soared high into the air. Jackson and Joanne could only stare upward in silence as it floated around the cave.“Damn it! “How can I defeat it and free Smith and Joanne?” Jackson’s body felt extremely weak, his energy completely drained. The giant spider’s power was far greater than the worms they had fought outside. It had already consumed most of Jackson’s energy—even though he had just replenished it.Jackson raised his bow and aimed it directly at the giant spider, firing multiple arrows in rapid succession.The spider’s attention shifted toward him, abandoning Joanne for the moment. It began moving slowly in Jackson’s direction.Jackson kept firing. “I need to think fast if I want to beat this thing,” he thought, trying to stay calm as he continued aiming.The creature drew closer. Jackson ran to the side—dodging was all he could do now to conserve what little energy he had left.He kept firing while running. The spider began launching webs at him. Jackson ducked to avoid them, causing the shots to miss.“Damn it! I need to hurry.” Jackson kept running, searching for a safe spot. But there was none.

“Stay behind me,” Smith said to Joanne, who was frozen in fear.The three of them turned around, trying to locate the creature lurking inside the cave. But they saw nothing.“Maybe it was just our imagination,” Jackson said, beginning to relax.“Really? But I swear something was hiding in the darkness. Think about it—why did Smith’s torch suddenly go out?” Joanne asked, still uneasy.“There’s nothing here,” Jackson replied.Suddenly, the cave plunged into darkness. “Are you okay?” Joanne asked as she reached him. “My energy is almost gone. If it runs out, I’ll die here and won’t be able to continue the fight. But I can’t die now—I still have to win so I can save Charis.” Jackson sat on the ground, exhausted. Joanne remained silent while Smith continued battling the worm. Joanne looked at Jackson, understanding what he was feeling. Even though they were competing to win, she couldn’t bear to let him die—especially before he reunited with the one he loved. She quickly searched her system screen, looking for something that could restore Jackson’s energy. “Thank goodness, there’s an energy pill in the medical kit I received.” She grabbed it. The bottle in her hand now held the very pills Jackson needed to survive. “These pills are extremely limited. I can’t give you too many. Joanne and Jackson turned to him simultaneously. “Then what—” Joanne’s eyes widened as a massive creature burst from the ground, writhing with its gaping mouth wide open. “ROARRR!!!” The monster lunged toward them. Jackson, Joanne, and Smith jumped aside, narrowly avoiding its attack. “Ahh—” Joanne winced as her body scraped roughly against the ground. “Is that the giant worm we were warned about?” Jackson whispered, eyes locked on the monstrous creature slithering toward them. “That’s definitely it,” Smith said, rising to his feet and gripping his sword tightly. He charged toward the worm. “ROARRR!!!” The worm retaliated, lunging at Smith. He dodged, leaping from one side to the other. “We can’t just stand here,” Joanne said, pushing herself up. “You’re right.” Jackson raised his bow and aimed a flaming arrow at the worm attacking Smith. He fired repeatedly, but the creature’s skin was too tough—it barely flinched. “What should I do?
