“Are you okay?” Joanne asked as she reached him.

“My energy is almost gone. If it runs out, I’ll die here and won’t be able to continue the fight. But I can’t die now—I still have to win so I can save Charis.” Jackson sat on the ground, exhausted. Joanne remained silent while Smith continued battling the worm.

Joanne looked at Jackson, understanding what he was feeling. Even though they were competing to win, she couldn’t bear to let him die—especially before he reunited with the one he loved.

She quickly searched her system screen, looking for something that could restore Jackson’s energy.

“Thank goodness, there’s an energy pill in the medical kit I received.” She grabbed it. The bottle in her hand now held the very pills Jackson needed to survive.

“These pills are extremely limited. I can’t give you too many. There are only five, and according to the description, just one pill can fully restore your energy.”
