Level 1 – The Frozen Goodbye
Wellington, New Zealand – 2025 15:45Their footsteps faltered, no longer in sync, as the argument spiraled with no end in sight.“Why do you never understand me?!” Charis Danella screamed, her voice cracking with fury. Her beautiful face twisted in frustration as she glared at the man she once loved. She was done—done with his inability to see her, to understand her, to even try.Jackson Kenrich’s jaw clenched. “I’m not the one who doesn’t understand. You’re the one who never tells me the truth! You keep hiding everything from me!”He had just caught her getting cozy with another man. The image was still fresh, burning in his mind.“I wasn’t trying to hide anything,” Charis said, her voice trembling. “This time I’m being honest. I didn’t want you to jump to conclusions about me and him. I didn’t want you to get angry.”“Classic excuse. You’ve used that line too many times. I’m sick of it.”“I’m tired of this! You always assume the worst about me!”“How could I not? You lie. You flir
Level 2 – Now You Die!
Jackson never wanted a goodbye like this. Yes, he had been angry with Charis—furious, even—but this wasn’t the ending he had imagined.Tears broke free from his eyes, streaming down his smooth cheeks.“I can help you, son.” The sudden words from the older man made Jackson pause. He looked up, startled.“Y-you can help me?” Jackson stared at him, torn between doubt and hope. The man nodded slowly. Jackson’s lips curled into a faint smile. It felt like a lifeline had been thrown his way. “Then please… help me,” he pleaded. The middle-aged man stood and looked down at Jackson, who was still sitting on the ground.“I’ll help you. But my help doesn’t come for free.”“Tell me what you want. I’ll give you anything. As long as you help me. Whatever it is—money, possessions—I’ll give it to you.” Jackson struggled to his feet, wincing from the pain. He reached out and grasped the man’s hands tightly, eyes filled with desperate hope. Maybe this man was his only chance to save Charis.“I don’
Level 3 – The Trial of Betrayal
“It was red, not blue,” Jackson said.“No! Mine was yellow,” Joanne argued, leaving the others speechless.“So we can conclude that the drinks he gave us were different colors? I got blue, you got yellow, and you got red?” Smith summarized. The other two nodded slowly.“And after drinking it, I blacked out and woke up here with you,” Jackson explained.“We experienced the same thing,” Joanne added.“Enemies may be friends, and friends may be enemies. Trust is the one thing you cannot hold onto here, because betrayal can happen at any time. Only the strong will survive, and only the relentless will win.”Jackson, Joanne, and Smith froze as a voice suddenly echoed throughout the room. They stood up and looked around, but saw no one. Still, the voice was clear—male, commanding.“Did you hear that?” Smith asked the others.“Loud and clear,” Joanne replied.“Welcome, newcomers.”The voice returned. “Who are you?! Show yourself!” Jackson shouted at the unseen speaker.“You want to meet me
Level 4 – System Triggered
Neva reached out and helped Joanne to her feet. “Are you okay?” she asked. “I’m fine,” Joanne replied. “Thank goodness.” Neva smiled. “You looked so brave. Weren’t you scared of that goose earlier? What if it had pecked you?” “I was scared, actually. But I fought through my fear to save you. I couldn’t let my best friend be in danger, so I attacked the goose and overcame my fear.” Neva smiled at her. Joanne stared, mesmerized by the innocent face of the beautiful girl her age. “If you were in my place, I’m sure you would’ve done the same, right?” Joanne smiled and nodded gently. Her eyes snapped open. That memory instantly reignited her courage. Her fists clenched tightly. Her gaze locked onto the undead creature charging toward her—most of them were being handled by Jackson and Smith. “I’ll do what Neva did. I’ll fight my fear and save my friend. I’ll win and break free from this!” Joanne whispered. “ROARR!!” More zombies surged toward her. Joanne sprang into action, t
Level 5 – Quest
“I see it!” Joanne shouted excitedly, instantly drawing Jackson and Smith’s attention. “What do you see?” Jackson asked, still busy fighting off the zombies attacking him, ignoring the system screen in front of him. “These zombies keep emerging from the ground. The more we fight them, the more they multiply,” she explained. “Then what are we supposed to do? We can’t just stand here and wait for them to attack us.” Jackson kicked a zombie that nearly bit him, then turned to fend off another from the opposite side. While Jackson and Joanne were busy fighting, Smith was trying to open the instructions on his screen. One persistent zombie kept interrupting him, causing him to fail repeatedly in tapping the interface. Smith retaliated, throwing punches and using every move he could to weaken the enemy. Suddenly, a zombie attacked him from the side and bit into his upper arm, making him wince in pain. “Shhh…” Smith tried to stay calm and fought back. His arm throbbed, and blood
Level 6 – The Button
Smith winced as the pain in his arm flared again. He stepped back slightly, trying to keep his injury hidden from the others.Jackson glanced around, realizing Joanne was nearly pulled down by the zombies. He looked for Smith to help, but the darkness made it impossible to see where the man had gone.“Guys, help me!” Joanne screamed, her panic rising.“Tch. Unbelievable,” Jackson muttered, frustrated that Smith had vanished from sight. He stood and turned toward the cliff where Joanne was still hanging.“Please! Help me!” Joanne cried again, tears streaming down her face. She could feel the zombies crawling up, one by one, trying to drag her down. She looked toward Jackson, who seemed ready to walk away and leave her behind. But then, his conscience stopped him.Jackson bent down and reached out his hand. “Grab my hand!” he shouted.Joanne stretched out, trying to reach him. Just a little more—and she made it. Jackson pulled her up, her light body easily lifted to safety.Joanne exh
Level 7 – Catch!
Jackson successfully retrieved the item from its original place. He quickly began walking toward Smith and Joanne, who were waiting for him on the other side. But before he could reach them, something cold and slithering crept toward him from nearby. A giant scorpion blocked his path. Jackson froze in place, swallowing hard as the creature loomed directly in front of him. “What should we do?!” Joanne cried out, clearly worried for Jackson across the gap. “I don’t know either. If we go over there, we’ll be putting ourselves in danger too. We might all end up dead.” “No one gets out that easily. Oh come on, this is only level one—why are you already trying to leave? Aren’t you curious to play a little longer?” That voice echoed through the room again, interrupting everything. Then silence returned, broken only by the groans of zombies trying to climb and the hungry screeches of the giant scorpion stalking Jackson. “We can’t just stand here.” Joanne frantically searched the system
Level 8 – The Next Mission
“By the way, we haven’t properly introduced ourselves,” Joanne said, shifting the conversation. “My name’s Joanne. What about you two?” She looked at the two men in front of her. “Just call me Smith.” “I’m Jackson.” They answered in turn. Joanne nodded in response. Their conversation was interrupted when the instruction screen suddenly changed, grabbing their attention. --- ` You’ve just completed Level 1. The journey is still long, and many challenges await. The next level will be even harder to overcome. *You’ve earned a special reward! ` --- Jackson, Joanne, and Smith received the same message. Each of them tapped the reward button. Joanne received a set of medical supplies—potions and healing tools capable of restoring health and treating wounds. She also earned her first badge as a Level 1 Healer. Smith was awarded a sword, a gift recognizing his leadership qualities. Jackson received a bow that summoned flaming arrows when drawn—his reward was granted for his selfl
Level 9 – Infection
“That’s not a mole,” Smith muttered. Joanne and Jackson turned to him simultaneously. “Then what—” Joanne’s eyes widened as a massive creature burst from the ground, writhing with its gaping mouth wide open. “ROARRR!!!” The monster lunged toward them. Jackson, Joanne, and Smith jumped aside, narrowly avoiding its attack. “Ahh—” Joanne winced as her body scraped roughly against the ground. “Is that the giant worm we were warned about?” Jackson whispered, eyes locked on the monstrous creature slithering toward them. “That’s definitely it,” Smith said, rising to his feet and gripping his sword tightly. He charged toward the worm. “ROARRR!!!” The worm retaliated, lunging at Smith. He dodged, leaping from one side to the other. “We can’t just stand here,” Joanne said, pushing herself up. “You’re right.” Jackson raised his bow and aimed a flaming arrow at the worm attacking Smith. He fired repeatedly, but the creature’s skin was too tough—it barely flinched. “What should I do?
Level 10 – Into the Cave of Shadows
“Are you okay?” Joanne asked as she reached him. “My energy is almost gone. If it runs out, I’ll die here and won’t be able to continue the fight. But I can’t die now—I still have to win so I can save Charis.” Jackson sat on the ground, exhausted. Joanne remained silent while Smith continued battling the worm. Joanne looked at Jackson, understanding what he was feeling. Even though they were competing to win, she couldn’t bear to let him die—especially before he reunited with the one he loved. She quickly searched her system screen, looking for something that could restore Jackson’s energy. “Thank goodness, there’s an energy pill in the medical kit I received.” She grabbed it. The bottle in her hand now held the very pills Jackson needed to survive. “These pills are extremely limited. I can’t give you too many. There are only five, and according to the description, just one pill can fully restore your energy.” “Alright, that’s fine. Just give me one,” Jackson said, eyes full of
