Trap

The Military Governor furrowed his brow when he saw his son dancing with another girl instead of his fiancée.

He could only ask Lincoln who she was.

"Mr Lincoln, this young lady is?"

"She is me and my late wife's daughter, Arci, she just returned from Japan" Lincoln replied.

"She's grown into an adult. Were it not for Military Governor Lee…"

"It is my honor to have two military governors visit my humble abode. During your visit we had better drop the subject of war" Lincoln interrupted him

"Mr Lincoln, Latino, well, what is your take on setting up a five-Province coalition force to resist American aggression?"Military General P**e asked

Lincoln smiled.

"You are talking about military affairs which are beyond my ken. I'll go and greet the other guests for now" He said and walked away

Lincoln walked away leaving both Military Governors.

"Mr Lincoln, left before we broach the subject, He is well aware that we'll need his help with the military expenses. His attitude clearly shows he doesn't want to give money" Military Governor Albert analyzed.

Military Governor P**e laughed.

"As I see it, we might as well have a checkmate with him tonight. We'll elect the commander in chief of the coalition tonight" P**e suggested.

Albert nodded in agreement.

P**e walked to the stage.

"Ladies and Gentlemen. Please lend me your ear for a moment. Today all the distinguished guests gather at Lincoln's mansion on this grand occasion. Let's thank Mr Lincoln for his generous hospitality, I'd also like to remind you that the fierce battle on the frontline has sounded the alarm for us. The revolutionary army should not be taken lightly if our five provinces in East California still do not join hands and let the revolutionary army conquer cities and towns. Woes are likely to befall everyone present here since the garrison commanders and all commanders are all here in the Lincoln mansion today, we can take this opportunity to recommend a candidate for the post of commander-in-chief of the coalition force of the five provinces in east Los Angeles" P**e said.

"That is a good idea," Some replied.

Some nodded in consent.

He smiled when he saw this.

"My first recommendation is the military Governor of Los Angeles Albert Latino" He pointed at Albert who smiled in satisfaction too.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, any objections?" P**e asked.

"No that is great"

"Yes"

"Good"

"Great"

They clapped cheerfully.

"It seems it is the wish of the people to have Albert as the commander-in-chief of the coalition force" P**e said.

"Yes Great" 

Everyone clapped.

Arci only observed everything.

"Albert, Please" P**e motioned for Military Governor Albert to come to the stage.

"Since there are no objections now I declare that the commander-in-chief at the coalition force of the five provinces in east Los Angeles is the Military Governor Albert" P**e announced.

"I object," A voice said.

Everyone looked towards the voice, A man with handsome features putting on a soldier's clothes walked into the hall.

The hall fell into silence.

The man was Richard!!!

Love Bush gasped immediately when she saw him, she quickly hid among the crowd.

Arci also saw him, she quickly hid as she watched the man walk into the hall step by step. The crowd made way for him. He stood in the middle of the hall with a smirk on his lips. Bremo recognized him too.

"Who are you?" Military Governor Albert asked

"Do you know the consequences of breaking into a ball at Lincoln's mansion?" Military Governor P**e asked him.

"I'm Richard Bush, a Marshal from the Richard army, Bush wood the garrison commander of Los Angeles, is my father " He said.

Military Governor Albert's eyes flicked when he heard this.

"I wonder who you were, turns out you are the son of deceased Bush wood" Military Governor p**e chuckled.

"I suppose no one would have invited you to the ball at the Lincoln mansion" Military Governor p**e said still smiling

Richard smiled, "My father used to be the commander of Los Angeles and my uncle Drey is still guarding there at the moment, how can the Bush family be left out in the election of the commander-in-chief of the coalition force?"

"Exactly, the Bush family indeed has a reputation that spreads far and near. As a garrison commander, your father actually died at the hands of a bandit on the horseback, that was absolutely unheard of. The Bush family used to be a family of bandits on horseback, maybe it is their internal strife. It is a pity indeed" Military Governor P**e said mockingly.

Richard clenched his fist tightly but his face was indifference.

Military Governor Albert smiled.

"Young fellow, the people here today mean no offense to your father. We are just taking the matters on its own ments. But the election today really has nothing to do with your family, so please leave immediately. Of course we will not make a fuss with a child as long as you leave" Military Governor Albert walked closer to him and advised him kindly with his eyes narrowed.

"Military Governor Albert, don't take me as a child" Richard stared at him.

Albert laughed

"The Bush family designation was revoked a decade ago, how dare you break in as a mere civilian. If you still don't wise up, I am going to have you kicked out" Military Governor P**e said.

Richard turned his back against them as he stood in the middle of the hall like a devil just reincarnated, "Since everyone happens to be here, I'm here to announce a piece of good news to you , I have taken over the Los Angeles defense command. From now on, I will be the one guarantee your personal safety"

Military Governor Albert chuckled, "You have taken over? Are you kidding? Where is Drey?" He asked as he walked back to the stage.

He took his phone and was about to make a phone call.

"Military Governor Albert, save your breath, let me help you, Drey," Richard said.

Drey walked into the hall with dozens of soldiers holding guns.
