In 3 minutes, Clinton made short work of the pack of Green Goblins.

After killing their two level 3 leaders first, the others panicked and, in that time, he was able to kill two of the level 2 Green Goblins easily.

In the end, spooked, the last Green Goblin of this pack was able to escape death as turning without shame, it ran and escaped at astonishing speed.

In 3 short minutes, Clinton just destroyed a level 3 pack of Green Goblins.

Clinton raised his right skeleton hand holding one of his Wooden Daggers and looked at it. “Hehehe,” he chuckled which only sounded eerie when coming from a skeleton. “I truly am growing stronger”.

Before now, he was scared to even take on a single level 3 Green Goblin in battle but after spending his free attribute points and crafting weapons, killing multiple level 3 Green Goblins no longer seemed so hard.

With a toothy grin on his skeleton face, Clinton did not hesitate as he went about his business like nothing happened.

He continued his raid through the decaying forest.

In the next 20 minutes, he was able to meet multiple packs of Green Goblins and Undead Trees even as he avoided the Ogres for now like a plague.

In this time, he was able to kill two more level 3 monsters, taking his overall kill tally of level 3 monster kills to four, leaving only one till he leveled up.

Clinton felt in his element at this moment.

He no longer felt like his life after reincarnation was such a miserable one, he no longer saw this decaying forest as that area worse than hell again.

Heck, with this much power in his disposal, this should as well be paradise!

For his last level 3 kill though, instead of wasting time and stalking another pack of monsters, Clinton finally decided to be brave.

Afterall, he already got enough combat experience already.

During the past few dozen minutes, from the beginning when at close distance, he missed his Wooden Spear throws, his accuracy already increased as he did it repeatedly against the monsters in this level of the dungeon.

There was even one time that he managed to kill a level 2 Green Goblin in one throw of his Wooden Spear, dealing +2.1 damage in one attack.

This was scary damage.

Considering the fact that his own overall health points was just 3, at the moment, even Clinton would be scared of facing himself as an enemy.

Of course, during these skirmishes, he got injured at times but never too serious since with his weapons and his I.Q, he was always one step ahead of the monsters, keeping the battle under his control always.

This time though, Clinton finally decided that he was ready.

He finally decided to challenge an Ogre.

***

{Warning! Enemy has been detected!}

{You have encountered a level 3 Stone Ogre!}

***

This time, Clinton took his time, choosing his battlefield, preparing it to make sure that the odds were stacked in his favor.

And once he was confident of his chances, only then did he attack.

Of course, he debuted with his Wooden Spear.

With more confidence this time, immediately after he came out from behind the decaying tree where he hid previously, he aimed and threw the Wooden Spear.

Compared to before, this time, his accuracy was much improved.

The Wooden Spear struck the Ogre directly on the chest.

CLANG!

A loud sound of collision reverberated through this forest the next moment amid sparks as the Spear tried to force its way through to no avail.

Clinton only managed to deal a measly +0.1 damage.

And then, the status of the Ogre lit up.

{You have attacked a level 3 Green Goblin!}

{You have dealt +0.1 damage to your enemy!}

{Stone Ogre!}

Level: 3

HP: 8.0/8.1

{Active Skill: Might Punch!}

ROAR…!

The Stone Ogre roared loudly as soon as it saw its enemy and then, the next moment, the Ogre did what Clinton did not expect.

Shifting its head to the side, staring at the nearest decaying tree, all of a sudden, this 2-meter Ogre grabbed it with its bare hands and then, it tore the tree apart!

Clinton’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets as he witnessed this display of might by the Stone Ogre.

Before he could understand what was going on, this Stone Ogre tore a big chunk of the trunk of this decaying tree out before hauling it in his direction.

Before Clinton could understand what happened, it was already too late.

“F*ck!” He ducked but still, the tree trunk grazed his skin.

{You have been grazed by a tree trunk!}

{You have received +0.5 damage!}

‘F*ck! So much damage from just a graze?!’

‘What would have happened if it hit me directly?’

Rolling on the ground awkwardly with his skeleton body, Clinton finally stood up only to curse again because, the Ogre was already before him and right now its clenched fist was punching right at his face.

BAM!

Have you ever been punched on the face so hard you could literally feel your face deforming behind your enemy’s fist?

At this moment, Clinton experienced this feeling.

***

{CRITICAL HIT!}

{Your enemy used a skill on you: Might Punch!]

{You have received +2.2 damage!}

{HP: 0.3/3}

***

Seeing the figure of his health points that were displayed by his miserable undead system, Clinton was horrified to death and most importantly, he was reminded of a very bitter truth, a very bitter truth that he had been trying so hard to hide.

He was just a miserable mid-tier undead skeleton.

“F*ck!”

Clinton dared not linger.

Turning tail without any shroud of shame, Clinton abandoned his weapons, only taking one dagger with him as he ran with his tail between his legs.

Unfortunately for him, the angry Stone Ogre was not letting this slide.

The Stone Ogre went in pursuit.

“F*cking Christ!” Clinton cursed.

“I swear I’m going to kill you!”

    The fire had burned down to soft embers.The cold air of the War Realm crept into the ravine, brushing across rock, steel, and bone. A silence hung between the trio; not tense, but heavy. Weighted with unspoken truths and shared survival.Clinton had returned from his expedition to the territory of the Dreadjaw Tribe alive, and he revealed everything to them.That was what caused this tense silence between them after the initial argument. But there was something else in the tension, a truth hidden behind layers of blood and race.Clinton broke the silence.“We need to talk”.Vaelin didn’t move. Garrick looked up from the blade he was tending but said nothing.Clinton’s voice was quiet. “I’ve been patient. I didn’t ask questions when I should’ve. But now, I want to know”. He looked at them. “Why are you two after me? Why me? You didn’t just stumble onto my trail. You were tracking me. From the Monster Domain”.The die was cast.And now, there was no going back. This is the conversation

    Night cloaked the ravine in stillness, the fire Vaelin had managed to conjure flickering low in the ring of stone.Garrick sat near it, sharpening his blade with steady strokes, though his muscles remained coiled, ever ready. Vaelin stood nearby, arms crossed, gazing into the shadows beyond the ridge as though expecting monsters to crawl free of the dark.When Clinton returned, neither man stirred, but both took notice.He stepped into the firelight, quiet as ever, though something about his presence had changed.His gait wasn’t rushed or cautious. Rather, it was exposed, like someone who had walked through fire and returned with answers.“You’re alive,” Garrick said flatly, glancing up from his blade. “That’s a good start”.Vaelin’s eyes narrowed. “What did they say?”Clinton sat down beside the fire, letting the flickering warmth lick at his bones. “The chieftain, Grumak Skullspliter, knows I’m from another level”.The Human and Elf looked at him sharply.Clinton shrugged. “He calle

    The Dreadjaw encampment was chaos carved into order. Rows of tents made from beast hides and bone stretched along the uneven valley floor, surrounded by spikes, glyph wards, and pits lined with iron-tipped stakes.Fire burned at every corner, warriors sparred in blood-soaked rings, and the drums of war thundered endlessly.The stench of sweat, blood, and magic tainted the air.Clinton walked through it all, led by the shaman.All eyes turned to him, the skeleton cloaked in tattered robes, marked by silence and aura.Some hissed, some snarled, some even dropped to a crouch, unsure whether to pounce or kneel. But none attacked. The presence of the shaman warded them, for now.They reached the center of the encampment.There, a crude throne carved from the ribcage of a mountain wyrm loomed atop a raised stone platform. There sat the chieftain.DING!~----~[You have encountered Grumak Skullsplitter, Chieftain of the Dreadjaw Tribe, one of the 5 Orcish Tribes of the War Realm!][Level: 30]

    “I’ll do it”.Silence.A few moments later. “You sure?” Garrick asked.Clinton gave a hollow laugh. “I’m already a dead man in a world that hates me. What’s another risk?”Clinton was about to move on but as soon as a sudden mischievous thought entered his head, he couldn’t help it. Looking at the Elf and Human, a smile crept up his face which in his skeleton face only looked eerie.He grinned. “You know, I was a human once”.Garrick looked at him sharply, then he muttered coldly. “Good joke”.Clinton chuckled. “Take it any way you want, but that’s the truth”.“Besides, what’s so hard to accept? This skeleton, is it not that of a human?” He pointed at himself.Garrick looked at him coldly. “Skeletons are undead, hideous monsters of the World of Dark. You and your kin were created from the darkness. Even if you came from the remains of a human, the original soul is gone and resting in Heaven”.“So, no, you’re no human skeleton. You’re an undead”.“So serious”. Clinton chuckled.Convers

    After Clinton’s first cold lessons in the ravine with his teacher, Vaelin Duskwhisper, while he had a rest to recover from the exertion, Garrick finally brought up a new conversation.They couldn’t escape it, it was a conversation that they would have now or later. So, the human mercenary brought it up now.With a calm and even look on his face, he looked at them. “How do we move on from here?”The Elven assassin and undead skeleton looked up at him.Vaelin answered. “What do you mean?”Garrick looked at him. “This Orcish tribe”. He paused for a few moments, taking a dark look at the top of the ravine. “Obviously, we can’t go that way. We don’t have what it takes to beat that guy, and we won’t have it in a long time”.“And staying in one place is not an option either. Staying in one location in a realm we know so little about is a recipe for disaster”.“I agree”. Vaelin nodded.Garrick took a deep breath. “So, the only way to go is forward”.“From what we’ve observed about those Orcs

    The ravine, jagged and narrow, curled like a scar across the mountainside.It was brutal terrain; sharp rocks, thorn-rooted bushes, and the occasional growl from something unseen deeper in the shadows, but it was quiet. And more importantly, it was safe.Safe enough.Garrick slumped against the wall, chest heaving from the exertion of hauling two people through a nightmare.Vaelin sat nearby, cross-legged, arms folded tightly across his blood-caked armor. He hadn’t said a word since they stopped, just staring into the cold wind, silent and unreadable.There was a subtle tension between them. Afterall, they were yet to address the topic of previously kidnapping the skeleton.Clinton? He perched in the corner like a gargoyle, skeletal frame motionless, faint blue frost still wafting off his bones from the magic he had unleashed earlier. The battle with Gor’Zhul had nearly killed them… again.And yet somehow, they were still breathing. Or at least, two of them were.Finally, Vaelin broke
