Before Clinton pounced on the Green Goblins, there was a little problem.
Clinton was just one human skeleton with 2 bony hands and 2 bony legs. There was no way that he could carry 10 Wooden Spears and 9 Wooden Daggers around this decaying forest while hunting for prey.
This dilemma came once he got set to embark on his raid across this forest.
The skeleton sighed. “In one of those manga that I remember reading, in situations like this, the main character’s system is supposed to have something like an inventory to store weapons, right?”
“Where the f*ck is my own inventory?” The skeleton grimaced.
At this moment, Clinton could either ascribe this oversight of his system to the fact that his system was simply defective or due to the fact of its name, it was just a miserable undead system.
‘It’s probably that ugly angel that caused this through her curse, right?’ Thinking of the angel, Clinton only felt hatred simmer in his heart.
In the end, he had to improvise.
For his first official hunt in his raid across the decaying forest, Clinton settled with what only his hands could carry.
He settled with carrying 3 Wooden Spears and 2 Wooden Daggers.
All 3 Wooden Spears were part of the few ones with no skill imbued in them.
As for his other crafted weapons, Clinton dug the ground a bit with one of the daggers, creating a depression big enough to hide his other weapons.
With this, his raid officially started.
And just a minute later, he found his first target.
***
{Warning! Enemy has been detected!}
{You have encountered a Green Goblin! ×5}
{You have encountered two level 3 Green Goblins!}
***
Of the 5 Green Goblins that made up this pack, the two level 3 Green Goblins were Clinton’s first target.
‘Be the first victims of Weapon Master Clinton!’
And then, he pounced!
Hiding behind a decaying tree, the Green Goblins unsuspecting of the danger roamed about a few meters away from the tree like usual when out of nowhere, a skeleton suddenly moved and attacked.
Coming out of his hideout, Clinton raised one of the Wooden Spears high and aimed at one of his targets before pulling the trigger.
Clinton threw the Wooden Spear with all of his power, and then…
Bam!
Silence; all 5 Green Goblins who were surprised at this moment turned to look at the direction where the sudden attack came from.
As for Clinton?
He froze, his skeleton face turning red in embarrassment.
‘F*ck!’ Clinton cursed in his mind. ‘F*ck, that was so embarrassing!’
Incredulously, despite just a few meters distance separating them and with the element of surprise on his side, somehow, Clinton incredulously missed his target.
‘I f*cking missed my target!’
Once they noticed the intruder that was not part of their pack, the Green Goblins snarled the next moment as they raised their clubs to attack.
Not all of them wielded wooden clubs though, one of the two level 3 Green Goblins wielded a dagger that looked like an inferior version of Clinton’s own daggers and at this moment, they all pounced.
There was still some distance separating them though.
Despite missing his first attack embarrassingly, Clinton did not let it hold him back for too long. As a track athlete, he knew to keep on going on the track.
In his previous life, there were times when he even tripped and fell while running but Clinton never gave up.
If he tripped and fell, he stood up and continued running and somehow, against all odds, he still took first position.
This was why he was Clinton.
This was why he was the King of the track.
Just as the Green Goblins moved to pounce in his direction, the skeleton bent slightly, picked another Wooden Spear then threw with all its might.
This time, despite his lack of experience with true combat, luck was on his side this time as the Wooden Spear met its mark.
Bullseye!
BAM!

{You have attacked a level 3 Green Goblin!}
{You have dealt +1.8 damage to your enemy!}

{Green Goblin!}

Like usual, immediately after he engaged the Green Goblin in combat, the miserable undead system lit up with a simplified status projection of the monsters.
Seeing that he just dealt +1.8 damage with one attack whereas before now, his record damage in one hit was 0.4, Clinton felt filled with adrenaline.
He felt on top of the moon. ‘Come on!’
Picking the last Wooden Spear, Clinton pounced towards the Green Goblins.
Wielding its dagger, the other level 3 Green Goblin led the level 2 Green Goblins as they rushed at the skeleton even as the Wooden Spear attack pushed the other level 3 Green Goblin backwards.
With confidence in his new found strength now, Clinton did not try to evade direct collision with them and kite like usual.
This time, Clinton charged right at them with his last Wooden Spear.
This was because unlike before, he was stronger now and best of all, he had weapons in his disposal now.
Whoosh!
The Green Goblin attacked with its dagger.
Ducking to dodge, Clinton evaded and went behind the level 3 Green Goblin, facing only the angry level 2 Green Goblins now, then he swung the Wooden Spear horizontally with all his power.
BOOM!
The Wooden Spear smacked hard against the thick skin of the Green Goblins, pushing them back even as Clinton got multiple damage notifications.
With this simple move, he managed to isolate the second level 3 Green Goblin even as the first level 3 Green Goblin was yet to fully recover from his attack.
With the level 3 Green Goblin isolated, Clinton gave it preferential treatment.
With the Wooden Spear, he pounced on it and then, he stabbed with his spear with all the power that his bones could afford.
CRACK!
The Wooden Spear dug deep into the skin of the Green Goblin as green blood flew everywhere even as the Green Goblin shrieked in pain and panic.
***
{You have dealt +1.2 damage to your enemy!}
{HP: 3.6/4.8}
***
Before the Green Goblin could recover from the attack, Clinton let go of the Wooden Spear as he navigated behind it with incredible deftness.
Behind the Green Goblin, he finally moved the Wooden Dagger that he held in his left hand since.
Shifting hold of the Wooden Dagger to his right skeleton hand, behind the Green Goblin, Clinton brought the dagger to its neck and then he slit its throat.
The Green Goblin shuddered as green blood spurted like rain, and then it went limp.
***
{You have killed a level 3 Green Goblin!}
{You gained XP!}
***
Clinton killed his first level 3 monster with zero injuries.
With eyes gleaming with the cold light of murder, he inclined his gaze and focused on the second level 3 Green Goblin who was already injured.
“You next”.
He pounced.

Chapter 73: War Realm [8]
Night cloaked the ravine in stillness, the fire Vaelin had managed to conjure flickering low in the ring of stone.Garrick sat near it, sharpening his blade with steady strokes, though his muscles remained coiled, ever ready. Vaelin stood nearby, arms crossed, gazing into the shadows beyond the ridge as though expecting monsters to crawl free of the dark.When Clinton returned, neither man stirred, but both took notice.He stepped into the firelight, quiet as ever, though something about his presence had changed.His gait wasn’t rushed or cautious. Rather, it was exposed, like someone who had walked through fire and returned with answers.“You’re alive,” Garrick said flatly, glancing up from his blade. “That’s a good start”.Vaelin’s eyes narrowed. “What did they say?”Clinton sat down beside the fire, letting the flickering warmth lick at his bones. “The chieftain, Grumak Skullspliter, knows I’m from another level”.The Human and Elf looked at him sharply.Clinton shrugged. “He calle
Chapter 72: War Realm [7]
The Dreadjaw encampment was chaos carved into order. Rows of tents made from beast hides and bone stretched along the uneven valley floor, surrounded by spikes, glyph wards, and pits lined with iron-tipped stakes.Fire burned at every corner, warriors sparred in blood-soaked rings, and the drums of war thundered endlessly.The stench of sweat, blood, and magic tainted the air.Clinton walked through it all, led by the shaman.All eyes turned to him, the skeleton cloaked in tattered robes, marked by silence and aura.Some hissed, some snarled, some even dropped to a crouch, unsure whether to pounce or kneel. But none attacked. The presence of the shaman warded them, for now.They reached the center of the encampment.There, a crude throne carved from the ribcage of a mountain wyrm loomed atop a raised stone platform. There sat the chieftain.DING!~----~[You have encountered Grumak Skullsplitter, Chieftain of the Dreadjaw Tribe, one of the 5 Orcish Tribes of the War Realm!][Level: 30]
Chapter 71: War Realm [6]
“I’ll do it”.Silence.A few moments later. “You sure?” Garrick asked.Clinton gave a hollow laugh. “I’m already a dead man in a world that hates me. What’s another risk?”Clinton was about to move on but as soon as a sudden mischievous thought entered his head, he couldn’t help it. Looking at the Elf and Human, a smile crept up his face which in his skeleton face only looked eerie.He grinned. “You know, I was a human once”.Garrick looked at him sharply, then he muttered coldly. “Good joke”.Clinton chuckled. “Take it any way you want, but that’s the truth”.“Besides, what’s so hard to accept? This skeleton, is it not that of a human?” He pointed at himself.Garrick looked at him coldly. “Skeletons are undead, hideous monsters of the World of Dark. You and your kin were created from the darkness. Even if you came from the remains of a human, the original soul is gone and resting in Heaven”.“So, no, you’re no human skeleton. You’re an undead”.“So serious”. Clinton chuckled.Convers
Chapter 70: War Realm [5]
After Clinton’s first cold lessons in the ravine with his teacher, Vaelin Duskwhisper, while he had a rest to recover from the exertion, Garrick finally brought up a new conversation.They couldn’t escape it, it was a conversation that they would have now or later. So, the human mercenary brought it up now.With a calm and even look on his face, he looked at them. “How do we move on from here?”The Elven assassin and undead skeleton looked up at him.Vaelin answered. “What do you mean?”Garrick looked at him. “This Orcish tribe”. He paused for a few moments, taking a dark look at the top of the ravine. “Obviously, we can’t go that way. We don’t have what it takes to beat that guy, and we won’t have it in a long time”.“And staying in one place is not an option either. Staying in one location in a realm we know so little about is a recipe for disaster”.“I agree”. Vaelin nodded.Garrick took a deep breath. “So, the only way to go is forward”.“From what we’ve observed about those Orcs
Chapter 69: War Realm [4]
The ravine, jagged and narrow, curled like a scar across the mountainside.It was brutal terrain; sharp rocks, thorn-rooted bushes, and the occasional growl from something unseen deeper in the shadows, but it was quiet. And more importantly, it was safe.Safe enough.Garrick slumped against the wall, chest heaving from the exertion of hauling two people through a nightmare.Vaelin sat nearby, cross-legged, arms folded tightly across his blood-caked armor. He hadn’t said a word since they stopped, just staring into the cold wind, silent and unreadable.There was a subtle tension between them. Afterall, they were yet to address the topic of previously kidnapping the skeleton.Clinton? He perched in the corner like a gargoyle, skeletal frame motionless, faint blue frost still wafting off his bones from the magic he had unleashed earlier. The battle with Gor’Zhul had nearly killed them… again.And yet somehow, they were still breathing. Or at least, two of them were.Finally, Vaelin broke

DING!~----~[System Notification!][You have entered the territory of the Dreadjaw Tribe- one of the Five Great Orc Tribes of Azarick’s Third Level.][WARNING: You are now within the jurisdiction of a possibly hostile Orc dominion. Proceed with extreme caution.]~----~Clinton blinked at the flickering system message, his breath catching.Dreadjaw Tribe? The words meant nothing to him, but the implications were clear enough. Another threat, another nightmare, another place that would likely loathe him just as much as the last.Clinton felt tired, hateful at this world that never seemed willing to give him a moment of rest, but if there was one thing he learned to appreciate since being banished after death to this world, it was knowledge.He learned to treasure knowledge.It was with enough knowledge from his exploration that he managed to know the Decaying Forest enough; its terrains, its monsters and their hunting regions, and their level of power.It was what enabled him to become
Chapter 67: War Realm [2]
The divine spires of Elarion, City of Celestial Accord, pierced through clouds of gold and sapphire. Above the ethereal sky where time held no dominion, in a realm untouched by mortal chaos, sat the immortal halls of the gods.The God Realm…Here, within the highest sanctum, bathed in silvery light and surrounded by rings of divine flame, stood Athena.The Goddess of Judgement was as beautiful as she was terrible.Her silver armor gleamed like starlight, and her pale skin carried the glow of ancient law. Eyes like molten platinum watched the threads of fate from her scrying pool; a still circle of glass-like water set into a platform of celestial marble.Behind her, massive wings woven from justice itself remained folded, still as statues. Her presence was perfection incarnate.But now?That stillness cracked.A flicker. A pulse. A ripple across the divine stream of fate. She turned slowly toward the anomaly; the scrying pool glowed, and he appeared.Clinton.No longer limping through
Chapter 66: War Realm [1]
The light from the collapsing gate flickered out behind them, sealing off the chaos of the Monster Domain with a final, echoing groan.And then, silence swallowed them.Clinton, cradled over Garrick’s shoulder like a scorched relic of death and defiance, blinked slowly as the new world came into view.A dense mist curled at the edge of twisted trees. Vines hung like nooses from branches that groaned like the dead. The air was thicker here, hungrier.Clinton shivered as he felt a cold chill crawl down his spine.‘No solace’. He thought, suddenly indignant.The trio had escaped annihilation. They had done the impossible, survived the cruel crucible of the monster domain, fought its countless monsters and survived, fought and escaped the Night Reaver, fought Gravemaw and lived to tell the tale, but they hadn’t found peace.They had simply stepped into another hell.‘F*ck! F*ck! F*ck it all!’ Clinton felt like howling in anger.Well, what did he expect? Peace? Solace?By now, it was alrea

Abstraction took place.Every distraction disappeared, replaced by cold focus and will.Clinton took careful aim, aligning the shot with the base of the support rune beneath the gate. Then, he released it.Leaving a blur behind, the shard flew and struck true, striking the conduit and the result was instant.CRACK!A sound like glass shearing across steel echoed through the arena.Then…BOOOOOOM!The mana veins exploded outward in violent arcs of destabilized energy. A cascade of magical backlash rippled across the floor, rupturing the runes that kept the arena whole.Pillars collapsed. Ceilings split. Gravity shifted.The arena began to fall.
