“Hey, shut the hell up,” the voice resurfaced inside Julien’s mind again.

“I’m not going to take over your body, so don’t panic like a child, yet. Keep the panic later when I finally take over.”

The words left Jordan more confused than ever, he wished he could do something about it. He was stunned. How could the demon know his thoughts? Wasn’t he certain that the creature was dead? That certainty was beginning to unravel, and the thought of fear resurfaced inside his mind as it gradually tore through him.

Julien, noticing his sudden confusion, and how he was reacting weirdly to it, quickly dismissed the healers in his chamber.

“Get out of here, all of you, now!” Julien said sharply, his voice rising with authority.

“But sir, you know….” One of the nurses wanted to protest, but before she could finish her words, Julien threw a tray of pans at her.

“Get lost from here, I don’t want to hear even a single word from you.”

The nurse who had spoken earlier flinched at the pressure of his

Different paths appeared before them—more than ten—and they were now confused about which one to take.“What do we do now? Should we split up?” Matilda asked nervously.“Splitting up will lead to instant death,” Elsie replied, glancing over her shoulder. “It’s better if we stick together and take one path to move forward.”The paths were confusing, and splitting up would leave them vulnerable. Besides, none of them had ever faced a magical dragon before—they had no idea what awaited them.Jordan remained vigilant, his eyes scanning the surroundings. He reached out and touched the wall, which was dripping with liquid fire. To his surprise, the wall moved, as though it had a consciousness of its own.Is this what they meant when they said I’m a magic canceller? The thought passed through Jordan’s mind as he stared at the wall. As Elsie had explained, the entire cave was made of magic. Jordan was the only one who could nullify it—no magic could affect him. That was why, when he touched t

  • A Quest

After everything, Jordan returned to his chamber. Soon after, he was called by King Hudson. Following the meeting and congratulations, he returned to his room.Jordan lay on the bed, his fingers twitching against each other. He was still trying to figure out how the Dark Conjurer had been able to blend so perfectly, even mimicking Fiona. At times, Jordan felt like he might lose his sanity—until the voice from his blade snapped him back, reminding him that he had been able to plunge it into the Dark Conjurer with its help.Wow… that was close. What if I had gotten carried away and it had possessed me? That wouldn’t have been funny.Jordan thought inwardly, staring at his fingers. The memory of his father being possessed reminded him that being overtaken by another being was not something to take lightly. He flipped his fingers, and the Demon Wolf Blade materialized in his grip with a sharp spark of crimson lightning. He stared deeply at the blade and noticed something: the level was ca

Before him was Fiona. She stared at him with compassion.“F-Fiona… is that you…”His lips trembled as he tried to speak.Fiona smiled warmly. “Ooh, my lovely boy. Yes, of course it’s me.”This was the exact trick the Dark Conjurer used on its victims. Years ago, it could only possess animals to wreak havoc, but over time it grew stronger, able to possess anything it wished.Jordan felt everything was real—from her voice to the way she smiled. But his gaze shifted to the blade he was gripping tightly. It was glowing intensely.“Come to me… my boy. Don’t be scared. I’ve always wanted to hold you tight in my embrace. I’ve missed you so much.”The Dark Conjurer used Jordan’s deepest desires to lure him in. Making contact with the conjurer and weakening his mind was the only way it could possess its host.Jordan moved forward, drawn by her enchanting voice.Reaching Fiona, his eyes welled up with tears. “I can’t believe I can see you again, Fiona. No matter what, I will find you. I know yo

  • Confrontation

Holding the blade tightly in his hands, Jordan noticed its color change. Within seconds, he heard a voice emanating from the blade—something he had never experienced before:"Feed me… feed me with blood. Demon blood. More demon blood."Jordan froze at the voice. This was the first time his blade had communicated with him. The voice sounded feminine, yet echoed as if multiple females were speaking at once.“Heh… I guess because of the last upgrade, you acquired this skill,” Jordan sneered. “More demon blood, you say? Then your wish is granted.”As he spoke, the blade glowed even more intensely. But Jordan noticed something alarming: the clouds were darkening. If he didn’t leave the forest soon, night would fall—and the demons from the mountain would feast on them.“I have less than an hour to get this done,” Jordan muttered, gazing down at the demon wolf blade.Looking up, he saw barrages of sharp, carved tree branches hurtling toward him with devastating speed. If he tried only defens

Jordan saw how trembling Richard was and, with a gentle smile, said:“Don’t worry, Richard. You are safe. All I want you to do is get your comrades—those hanging from the trees—down. I’ll face the creature alone.”Jordan dropped the spear he was holding and began walking forward. Richard stared in confusion. If Jordan wanted to face the creature alone, didn’t he need a weapon?Jordan suddenly stopped, then turned to Richard over his shoulder. “Promise me one thing: whatever you see here… you keep it to yourself.”It had come to this. Jordan had no choice but to reveal his true strength, using his most powerful elemental abilities. If he didn’t, he had no chance against the Dark Conjurer. He knew this would expose his identity, which was why he demanded Richard’s secrecy.Richard nodded frantically. “My friend, I know you are something different from us. Go ahead and take that thing down. I promise to keep everything a secret.”With this confirmation, Jordan nodded and continued moving

  • The Dark Conjurer

The worst part was that Jordan couldn’t even see the leopard. The creature wasn’t ready to reveal itself—every one of its attacks was being orchestrated from the shadows.Jordan stood close to Richard. “I want you to stay close to me. Don’t move unless I say so.”Richard regretted ever stepping into the forest after making sure he had reached safer ground. But he couldn’t just let Jordan die—besides, he was the one who had asked Jordan for help.Additionally, what Jordan had said earlier was what pushed Richard to make the decision to enter the forest. The guilt of letting his comrades die was a burden that drove him mad enough to choose this path.Damn it… he shouldn’t have come. Now I have to protect him and fight this thing at the same time—something that seems smarter than a human.Jordan thought inwardly. In those same seconds, another cluster of sharpened branches was hurled toward them, but Jordan reacted in time, slashing them apart. After struggling to pinpoint the leopard’s
