CHAPTER 5

“Stand aside, while you still have the chance.” Dexter said to Vlad.

“What? You miserable church rat. You dare raise your voice at me?” He snapped.

“It wasn't a request,” Dexter said again. Vlad could feel his energy. He something told him he shouldn't mess with Dexter , that he'd regret it.

“Watch how you talk to him! Vlad is a millionaire with dozens of assets to his name. He's the CEO of Primeval Incorporated, the fifth biggest oil company in the country!”

“You will show him respect! He's ten times the man you are!” Lena yelled at Dexter who chuckled.

“oh… I'm scared shitless I could die!” Dexter said sarcastically.

This annoyed Lena even more.

“He helped my company get listed while you were in the kitchen cooking like a useless fool!” She snapped again.

“He even spoke with the secret investor that has transferred millions of dollars into my account! That's more than you could ever do in your pathetic life!”

Dexter laughed so hard he nearly choked. “Did he tell you all that?” He laughed again.

“Oh dear. This is more interesting than I thought,”

Lena was confused for a moment. She looked at Vlad who, furious now, quickly glared at Dexter .

“This scoundrel won't make me lose face!” Vlad said to himself.

“What is it? Huh? Do you want money? Here, take some money and fuck off!” Vlad quickly reached into his pocket and brought out some dollar bills.

He threw the cash at Dexter , who quickly caught them and threw them back at Vlad's face.

“I'll kill you!” Vlad growled and attacked Dexter . But Dexter picked him up and beat him to pulp.

“Stop it! Let him go, you animal!” Lena kept screaming while Dexter beat Vlad up.

Suddenly, Dexter 's eyes glowed yellow. His veins immediately became golden as his strength increased.

Vlad watched him with horror in his eyes as he kept receiving punches.

“Let him go! You're doing this again, you monster!” Lena cried out again, picked up a huge stone and hit Dexter head with it.

The stone hit a massive shield of energy instead and a blast knocked Lena off her feet. She fell down and started bleeding immediately.

Dexter let Vlad go. As he stood up, he gazed at Lena who was scared to her bones.

What had happened to him overnight?

With a quiet resolve, Dexter shaked his head and walked away from them.

As he approached the Porsche, a huge man dressed in back suit stepped down and opened the door for him.

Everyone watched in shock as Dexter got into the car. And when the huge man shot them all a glare, they shivered.

The car zoomed off immediately.

“What the hell just happened? How did that loser get a car?” Jericho muttered in shock.

“He probably borrowed it to impress me. Useless loser!” Lena cursed and spat.

Just as she tried standing up, she received a notification in her phone. Lena opened the email on her screen.

"it's an email from my secret investor. Maybe he wants to increase his investment on my holdings," she purred as she gazed at the email, without opening it yet.

"My beautiful daughter. I am so proud of you. Good thing you dumped that useless animal Dexter. There's no way he could give you a good life!" Vera said and pulled Lena into a hug.

"I should have listened to you earlier mother. I don't know why I wasted my time with that ass wipe. But now I know better," Lena said and smiled.

"Let's see what surprises await us now."

Lena giggled and opened the email.

But her blood ran cold and her heart sank to a pit. Her eyes opened wide.

"Come on, what does it say?" Vera asked impatiently.

“Oh my god! My million dollar investor just pulled out his assets!” Lena cried out.
