CHAPTER 4

The door bell rang. Vera, Lena’s mother, went to answer. Before now, Lena has told her everything that happened with Dexter .

“I told you to leave that useless thing way before now. Look how he has humiliated you!” Was Vera’s reply.

Heading to the door, she was at least grateful Dexter was gone. But then she opened up and saw him standing outside

Vera's face darkened on the spot.

“You've got some fucking nerves! What the fuck are you doing back here?” Vera yelled at Dexter who watched her with zero emotions in his eyes

She could sense that something has changed. Looking over his shoulder, she could see a Porsche being parked at the driveway.

“Who owns that car?” Vera wondered.

“I'm here to collect what's mine,” he said to her gently.

Vera let out a hysterical laughter and waved her hand in a frenzy.

“Oh you've got some nerves! After cheating on my daughter and beating her up, you still want to cause more trouble?”

Dexter frowned. “I didn't cheat on Lena. She's the one who cheated on me,” he said to her.

“And you lie as well! How pathetic could you be? We gave you a family when you had nothing. Put a roof over your head and fed you for years! And is this how you repay us?”

Vera walked closer to him.

“Get the fuck out, or I will call the cops to drag your sorry ass out of here!” She yelled again.

But Dexter wasn't having it

“I left a ring. I'm not leaving until I have it,” he told her.

But Vera suddenly launched herself at Dexter , attempting to claw on his face. But Dexter moved to the side and Vera lost her balance.

She landed on the ground with a thud.

“Help! He's beating me up! Help me! Somebody help!!” She started screaming, kicking her legs and hands in a frenzy.

Dexter scoffed while he watched her. But then, someone opened the door. It was Lena's older brother Jericho.

“What the fuck is happening here?” He yelled out and quickly rushed to Vera. With tears in her eyes, pointed her finger at Dexter .

“He came back to beat me up! I didn't do anything to him and he's abusing me!” She cried out.

Furious, Jericho stood up to size Dexter . But he was barely at Dexter 's shoulder level.

“How dare you come back to this house after what you did to my sister? And now you're beating up my mother too? Are you so shameless?”

He cursed at Dexter . Dexter laughed softly.

“That's rich coming from someone who's a petty thief. How many times did I bail you out of jail?” Dexter shot back.

Jericho's face went blood red before he smirked.

“If you wanted my sister to take you back so bad, then fall on your knees and lick my boots. Perhaps then I'll tell her to change her mind,” he said with pride.

Dexter 's brows furrowed as he gazed at Jericho. And then his eyes roamed to Vera's hand and there it was.

The ring!

“That ring is mine. Give it to me!” Dexter commanded, shaking Jericho to the core

“What? I found this ring inside this house. Its mine now. Fuck off!” Vera yelled.

“I will not ask you the second time,” Dexter said calmly.

“How dare you!” Jericho sprang into action and sent a punch at Dexter . But Dexter deflected the attack and grabbed Jericho. He pushed him against the wall like Jericho weighed nothing.

“Jericho!” Vera screamed as she rushed to her son who was bleeding on the ground. She quickly removed the ring from her finger and threw it at Dexter .

“There! Take this cheap imitation and get the hell out of this house!” She yelled and threw the ring at Dexter .

Dexter sighed and picked the ring up. Wearing it, he let out a sigh of relief. But when he turned around to leave, he saw a horrendous sight.

Lena was standing there, smooching and kissing Vlad like she was a whore. Her breasts were barely covered by the revealing top she wore.

While he devoured her lips, her eyes roamed to Dexter . Bile rose to her throat as she forced Vlad to stop.

“What the heck are you doing here?! Lena barked at Dexter .

She started walking toward him, forcing her breasts into her shirt. Dexter watched her with disgust in his heart. He couldn't imagine he once loved her.

“Have you gotten hungry already? Are the streets cold? I told you not to show your face here ever!” Lena screamed again and attempted to slap Dexter , but Dexter held her hand.

Lena froze. There was something different about him, something scary.

“Let me go! How dare you put your hands on me!” She barked and pulled her hands from his.

Stepping back, she saw her brother on the floor, crying in pains.

“I didn't know you could stoop so low. Violence is what you result to? Shameless animal!”

“A whore calling me shameless animal? That's new!” Dexter clapped back.

Lena gasped. “Scoundrel! You've come to beg me to take you back haven't you? I know your tactics!” She yelled at him.

Dexter laughed.

“I do not go back to my vomit,” he told her and she gritted her teeth. Anger surged inside her, but she was too stunned to say anything.

“If you wanted her to take you back, you should have fallen on your knees and worshipped her. Maybe then she'll have mercy on you,” Vlad said to Dexter and smiled, grabbing Lena's ass.

She let out a flirtatious moan, one that nauseated Dexter .

“I've had enough of this clown show,” Dexter said attempted to walk away, but Vlad blocked his path.

“You don't leave unless I fucking tell you to!” Vlad snapped.
