"How many times have they kicked?"

Caidine called at me, walking out of the hut to join the remaining three of us. We were seated at the edge of the long wooden elevated basement on which the hut had been built. The row of huts were built on the ocean. 

I had my head resting on Albert's shoulder and Ray seated next to me. Caidine got to us and handed each of us a hollow, long cup of tasty spicy juice. Ray let her sit next to me. 

"Now you've made them seem jobless. I don't believe that all babies do is kick. They sure have some other tasks they catch up to."

I teased. I knew I was being unreasonable but no matter how sour and crazy my joke seemed, Albert's laugh was always the loudest. And sometimes, I am forced to think that he laughs at how boring my jokes are.
