Chapter 39

The tarmac of the Capital City’s private airfield was chaotic. Rain lashed against the reinforced fuselage of the Vance Corp Gulfstream G650, while a fleet of armored SUVs formed a defensive perimeter around the aircraft.

Ares stood at the base of the boarding stairs, his massive rotary cannon resting easily against his shoulder. He looked like an indestructible gargoyle, his red optics sweeping the darkness for any sign of retaliation from the Old Families.

Arthur walked up the steps, his charcoal suit perfectly dry despite the torrential downpour. His Aura of the Sovereign passively repelled the rain, a microscopic application of his Grandmaster-tier physical control.

He stepped into the opulent cabin. Victoria Sterling was already seated, her long legs crossed, tapping furiously on a silver tablet. Nyx was sprawled across the velvet sofa, her neon-green eyes completely glazed over as her consciousness swam through the orbital quantum ledger.

"Status," Arthur commanded, taking the heavy leather captain's chair.

"The transition is complete, boss," Nyx chirped, blowing a massive pink bubble. "I've locked down the entire digital infrastructure of San Marcos. The port authorities, the air traffic control, and the military defense grids are now entirely encrypted and answering only to Vance Corp."

Victoria looked up from her tablet, her shattered-ice eyes gleaming with a mixture of awe and residual panic. "Arthur, the President of San Marcos is in a state of absolute hysteria. One minute he owed the Vivaldi bloodline his country's soul, and the next, a ghost corporation wiped the debt and claimed executive ownership. He’s demanding a parley."

"He doesn't get a parley," Arthur replied smoothly, pouring himself a glass of sparkling water. "He gets a new boss. Terminate his cabinet. Offer severance packages to anyone who leaves quietly. Anyone who resists gets deported."

"You’re completely dissolving a sovereign government," Victoria whispered, the sheer scale of the power play sending a thrill through her veins. "The United Nations will impose sanctions."

"Let them," Arthur said coldly. "We don't need their trade. We don't need their banks. We have the orbital ledger, and we have infinite capital. By tomorrow morning, San Marcos will no longer be a republic. It will be the global headquarters of Vance Corp."

Thud.

Vera stepped into the cabin, closing the heavy pressurized door behind her. She offered Arthur a crisp bow. "The perimeter is clear, Master. Ares will remain in the Capital City to guard the Vanguard Tower and ensure the remnants of the Old Families do not attempt to reclaim the property."

"Good," Arthur nodded. "Tell the pilot to take off."

The Gulfstream’s twin engines roared to life, vibrating through the plush carpet. The jet taxied down the runway and launched into the stormy sky, leaving the ruined remains of the Capital City’s underworld far behind.

Arthur pulled up his System interface. He had over 450,000 System Points. He was about to declare physical independence from the global powers, which meant he needed a military force capable of stopping the Vivaldi bloodline’s impending wrath.

System, Arthur commanded mentally. Open the Military-Tier Vanguard Summons. I need an army to defend an island nation.

[Accessing Level 3 Summons...]

[Target Acquired: Vanguard Battalion 'The Aegis Phalanx'.]

[Cost: 200,000 SP.]

[Description: Summons five hundred elite, cybernetically augmented super-soldiers. Equipped with adaptive hyper-dense armor and sub-orbital strike capabilities. 100% Loyalty guaranteed.]

Arthur didn't hesitate. Purchase.

[200,000 SP Deducted. Remaining Balance: 251,000 SP.]

[Deployment Point Required. Select destination coordinates.]

Arthur linked his mental interface to the island of San Marcos on the global map. He selected the primary military base on the southern coast.

Deploy.

[Deployment authorized. The Aegis Phalanx is manifesting on sovereign soil.]

Arthur leaned back in his chair, closing his eyes. Vivaldi had threatened to send a fleet. Let him. They would crash against an indestructible wall of cybernetic steel.

Across the cabin, Victoria watched Arthur. She saw the subtle golden glow radiating from his skin. She didn't understand the mechanics of his power, but she understood the results. He was rewriting the geopolitical map of the world from the back of a private jet.

"Arthur," Victoria murmured, her voice losing its usual sharp edge. "When we land... what happens to the citizens of San Marcos? You own the dirt, but you can't buy people."

Arthur opened his eyes. The golden light faded, replaced by absolute, calculating coldness.

"I don't intend to buy them, Victoria," Arthur replied softly. "I intend to elevate them. When you live in the mud, you rely on the mercy of the boots stomping on you. Tomorrow, there will be no more mud. Only marble."

Chapter 57The frozen moment in time shattered. The roaring wind returned with a vengeance. The dying Harvester monolith crashed into the Mediterranean Sea ten miles offshore, sending a massive, three-hundred-foot tidal wave racing toward the island of San Marcos.Arthur didn't even look at the incoming tsunami. He tossed the fading, useless shaft of the Spear of Genesis aside. The magnetic casing dissolved into violet dust before it hit the marble balcony."Vera! Hyperion!" Arthur shouted. Before the tidal wave could strike the newly rebuilt capital, Hyperion shot down from the stratosphere. The plasma-wrapped Vanguard positioned himself directly between the city and the ocean. He didn't build a wall; he simply unleashed a localized burst of thermal radiation. The three-hundred-foot wall of seawater slammed into the thermal barrier and instantly flash-boiled into steam. A dense, blinding fog blanketed the coastline, but the city was saved.Arthur turned back into the ruined boardroom

It looked like a jagged wound in reality, bleeding a deep, terrifying violet light. From the rift, the weapon descended. It wasn't a gun. It didn't have a trigger or a stock. It was a six-foot-long javelin composed entirely of condensed, swirling anti-matter encased in a shifting magnetic field. It hummed with a low, bone-rattling frequency that made the hair on everyone’s arms stand on end.Arthur stepped forward and reached out."Master, do not touch it!" Vera warned, taking a rare step backward, her instincts screaming that the weapon was anathema to biological life.Arthur ignored her. He wrapped his bare hand around the magnetic shaft of the Spear. The moment his skin made contact, a violent surge of violet energy raced up his arm, intertwining with the

He folded his silver-armored arms across his chest and plummeted directly toward the pitch-black surface of the alien ship.As he fell, Hyperion channeled the raw thermal energy of the upper atmosphere, turning himself into a localized, artificial sun. The heat radiating off his body spiked to ten thousand degrees. He slammed into the top of the Harvester vessel. The impact should have melted the alien hull instantly. Instead, a shockwave of blinding white steam erupted across the sky. The alien monolith wasn’t just armored; its hull was maintained at absolute zero. Hyperion’s nuclear heat collided with the ship's freezing perimeter, creating a massive, shrieking explosion of conflicting thermodynamics.Hyperion roared, driving his silver gauntlets into the black metal, trying to physically rip t

It was a lightless, frozen void where human ambition went to die.Arthur Vance wasn’t human anymore. He stood on the bridge of the Abyssal Leviathan, a deep-sea exploration vessel he had purchased from the Level 5 System Store for an effortless half-million SP. The ship was constructed from self-repairing dark matter and propelled by a frictionless gravity drive. It descended through the pitch-black water at terrifying speeds.Ares stood like a monolith at the back of the bridge, his red optics cutting through the dim cabin lighting. Nemesis hovered near the navigation console, her shadow-wrapped form completely unbothered by the crushing depths outside the viewport. Vera stood directly beside Arthur, her hand resting on her combat blade out of pure habit."Depth: thirty-five thousand feet," the ship’s automated AI reported in a smooth, synthetic voic
