Chapter 37

The red warning lights on Nyx’s screen bathed the luxurious penthouse in the color of fresh blood.

"They’re systematically wiping our international routing numbers," Nyx reported, her voice losing its usual playful edge. "Any asset Vance Corp holds outside the United States is currently inaccessible. They’re effectively putting a multi-trillion-dollar embargo on our entire corporate structure."

Victoria braced her hands against the obsidian desk, leaning over. Her aristocratic composure was fracturing. "You don't understand how deep their roots go, Arthur. The Vivaldi bloodline in Europe. The Chen Syndicate in Asia. They have controlled the world's wealth since the industrial revolution. They don't fight with guns. They fight with starvation. If you can't move capital, Vance Corp will suffocate in seventy-two hours."

Arthur watched the red text scrolling across the hacker's monitor. He didn't panic. The Leviathan Marrow Serum kept his heart rate at a perfectly calm, rhythmic sixty beats per minute.

"They think liquidity is my weakness," Arthur mused, resting his chin on his steepled fingers. "They assume I rely on their banks to move my money."

"Boss, you do rely on their banks," Nyx snapped, wiping sweat from her forehead. "The Infinite Wealth System gives you the cash, but we have to route it through earthly financial institutions to make physical purchases. If the Sovereigns block the routing codes, your money is just trapped data. It’s useless."

Arthur closed his eyes. The glowing blue interface of his System hummed to life in his mind.

He had ten thousand System Points left. It wasn't enough to buy an army, but he didn't need an army right now. He needed a bypass. He needed to build a bridge over the Old World’s moat.

System, Arthur commanded mentally. I need to move capital without using earthly financial institutions. What are my options?

Arthur’s eyes snapped open. They gleamed with terrifying, predatory gold.

Purchase.

High above the Earth's atmosphere, five sleek, matte-black satellites materialized out of thin air, locking into geostationary orbit. They instantly began beaming quantum-encrypted data directly to Nyx’s terminal.

In the penthouse, Nyx let out a sharp gasp, stumbling backward away from her laptop.

The angry red alerts on her screen vanished. They were replaced by a soothing, deep sapphire blue.

"What... what just happened?" Nyx stammered, staring at the lines of impossible code writing themselves across her monitors. "Boss, my terminal just linked to a server network that doesn't exist on this planet. The bandwidth is... it's infinite. The international blockade is gone. We’re bypassing the global banks entirely."

Victoria stared at Arthur as if he had just parted the Red Sea. "You built a shadow banking system? In three minutes? That takes decades of infrastructure!"

"I don't operate on earthly timelines, Victoria," Arthur said coldly, standing up from the desk. He walked over to the floor-to-ceiling windows, staring out into the storm. "The Sovereigns thought they could lock me in a cage. But they forgot that I can just buy the cage."

Arthur pulled his phone from his pocket. "Nyx. The Vivaldi bloodline in Europe. What is their primary leverage point? How do they hold their power?"

Nyx jumped back onto her keyboard, her confidence fully restored. She chewed her gum aggressively. "Scanning the Vivaldi portfolios... oh, this is dirty. They use predatory loans to trap developing nations. They currently hold the sovereign debt for the Republic of San Marcos. It’s a massive island nation in the Mediterranean. They own the country's ports, their oil reserves, and their government."

"How much is the debt?" Arthur asked.

"Four hundred and fifty billion dollars," Nyx replied.

Arthur smiled. It was a dark, venomous expression that promised absolute ruin.

"Pay it," Arthur commanded. "Use the new quantum ledger. I want the debt cleared in full, immediately. And then, transfer the collateral deeds directly to my name."

Victoria grabbed the edge of the desk to keep from falling over. "Arthur... you can't just buy a country. The UN will intervene! The Vivaldi family will declare actual, physical war on you!"

"Let them," Arthur said, turning away from the window. "Execute the transfer, Nyx."

Chapter 57The frozen moment in time shattered. The roaring wind returned with a vengeance. The dying Harvester monolith crashed into the Mediterranean Sea ten miles offshore, sending a massive, three-hundred-foot tidal wave racing toward the island of San Marcos.Arthur didn't even look at the incoming tsunami. He tossed the fading, useless shaft of the Spear of Genesis aside. The magnetic casing dissolved into violet dust before it hit the marble balcony."Vera! Hyperion!" Arthur shouted. Before the tidal wave could strike the newly rebuilt capital, Hyperion shot down from the stratosphere. The plasma-wrapped Vanguard positioned himself directly between the city and the ocean. He didn't build a wall; he simply unleashed a localized burst of thermal radiation. The three-hundred-foot wall of seawater slammed into the thermal barrier and instantly flash-boiled into steam. A dense, blinding fog blanketed the coastline, but the city was saved.Arthur turned back into the ruined boardroom

It looked like a jagged wound in reality, bleeding a deep, terrifying violet light. From the rift, the weapon descended. It wasn't a gun. It didn't have a trigger or a stock. It was a six-foot-long javelin composed entirely of condensed, swirling anti-matter encased in a shifting magnetic field. It hummed with a low, bone-rattling frequency that made the hair on everyone’s arms stand on end.Arthur stepped forward and reached out."Master, do not touch it!" Vera warned, taking a rare step backward, her instincts screaming that the weapon was anathema to biological life.Arthur ignored her. He wrapped his bare hand around the magnetic shaft of the Spear. The moment his skin made contact, a violent surge of violet energy raced up his arm, intertwining with the

He folded his silver-armored arms across his chest and plummeted directly toward the pitch-black surface of the alien ship.As he fell, Hyperion channeled the raw thermal energy of the upper atmosphere, turning himself into a localized, artificial sun. The heat radiating off his body spiked to ten thousand degrees. He slammed into the top of the Harvester vessel. The impact should have melted the alien hull instantly. Instead, a shockwave of blinding white steam erupted across the sky. The alien monolith wasn’t just armored; its hull was maintained at absolute zero. Hyperion’s nuclear heat collided with the ship's freezing perimeter, creating a massive, shrieking explosion of conflicting thermodynamics.Hyperion roared, driving his silver gauntlets into the black metal, trying to physically rip t

Chapter 52The crushing pressure of the Mariana Trench was enough to compress a standard nuclear submarine into the size of a soup can. It was a lightless, frozen void where human ambition went to die.Arthur Vance wasn’t human anymore. He stood on the bridge of the Abyssal Leviathan, a deep-sea exploration vessel he had purchased from the Level 5 System Store for an effortless half-million SP. The ship was constructed from self-repairing dark matter and propelled by a frictionless gravity drive. It descended through the pitch-black water at terrifying speeds.Ares stood like a monolith at the back of the bridge, his red optics cutting through the dim cabin lighting. Nemesis hovered near the navigation console, her shadow-wrapped form completely unbothered by the crushing depths outside the viewport. Vera stood directly beside Arthur, her hand resting on her combat blade out of pure habit."Depth: thirty-five thousand feet," the ship’s automated AI reported in a smooth, synthetic voic
