CHAPTER TWO

"Sir! Sir, please slow down!"

Barnaby Quill hurried down the private underground parking garage of the Ollivier tower, his polished black leather shoes clicking rapidly against the concrete floor. He was fifty years old, dressed in a sharp, immaculate charcoal suit, and carried a thick leather briefcase.

Caelum was pushing his wheelchair forward at a swift, powerful pace. His face was cold, expressionless, and dark.

Barnaby reached the side of Caelum's black luxury vehicle. He quickly pressed the button on his small remote control. The side van door slid open automatically, and a high-tech hydraulic wheelchair lift lowered smoothly to the ground.

Caelum rolled onto the metal platform, allowed the lift to raise him into the customized driver's section, and locked his chair into the secure floor mechanism.

Barnaby climbed into the front passenger seat, closed the door, and turned around to look at his master. His eyes were full of deep worry and quiet anger.

"I saw the papers in her secretary's outgoing bin, Young Master," Barnaby said softly, his voice trembling with emotion. "She really did it. After three years of your sacrifice... after everything you gave her..."

Caelum looked out the tinted front windshield. His reflection in the glass was sharp, cold, and majestic—completely stripped of the quiet, gentle look he had worn for the past three years as a live-in son-in-law.

"I gave her three years of my life, Barnaby," Caelum said. His voice was low, deep, and carried an absolute power that could freeze a room. "I gave her my protection, my wealth, and my heart. She traded all of it for a fake businessman and a few million dollars in paper profits."

Barnaby slammed his hand lightly against his knee. "Lucian Draymore is a total fraud, sir! His company is built on shell entities and borrowed debt. He has been stealing your old market ideas from third-party brokers. He is using Miss Seraphine to build his own image!"

"I know," Caelum said simply.

He reached into his inner suit pocket, pulled out a dark black satellite phone that had been switched off for three long years, and pressed the power button.

The small screen glowed brightly. Within three seconds, the phone began to vibrate violently as thousands of unread emails, direct messages, and high-level corporate notifications flooded the screen from across the globe.

The king was logging back in.

Caelum held the phone to his ear and dialed a private eleven-digit master code.

The call picked up on the very first ring.

"Lord Caelum!" a voice shouted in pure shock from the speaker. It was Vance, the global chief executive officer of the Vanterpool Logistics and Manufacturing Network. "Is... is that really you? My God, sir! You have been dark for three years!"

Caelum looked up at the high glass windows of the Ollivier Group tower towering above his car.

"Vance," Caelum said, his voice dropping to absolute zero. "The experiment is over."

There was a sharp gasp on the other end of the line, followed by complete, total silence.

"Sir... what are your orders?" Vance asked, his tone instantly shifting from shock to pure, terrifying obedience.

"Pull everything out," Caelum commanded quietly. "Cancel every supplier contract with the Ollivier Group. Freeze all secondary bank guarantees issued through our subsidiary holding firms. Terminate the raw material shipping lines immediately. By eight o'clock tomorrow morning, I want the Ollivier Group completely isolated from the Vanterpool ecosystem."

"It will be done in thirty minutes, Young Master!" Vance replied instantly. "And what about the market, sir? Should we announce your return to the global board?"

"Not yet," Caelum said, a cold smile touching his lips. "Seraphine believes she built an empire on her own talent. I want to watch her try to run it without my floor underneath her feet."

Caelum hung up the phone and tossed it onto the dashboard. He turned to look at Barnaby.

"Where is the file on Brightwick Freight?" Caelum asked.

Barnaby quickly opened his leather briefcase, pulled out a thin blue folder, and handed it to Caelum with both hands.

"Brightwick Freight is a small, dying logistics firm in the industrial district, sir," Barnaby explained fast. "They are four million dollars in debt. Their equipment is old, their workers are demoralized, and every major venture capital group in the city has refused to invest a single dime. The owner is preparing to declare bankruptcy by the end of this month."

Caelum flipped through the financial pages of the folder. His sharp eyes scanned the numbers at lightning speed. Suddenly, his finger stopped on a small, hand-written annex page tucked into the back of the report.

It was a detailed breakdown of four small regional shipping routes that the current management had marked as "useless and unprofitable."

"Who wrote this annex?" Caelum asked, pointing his finger at the neat handwriting.

"Ah, that was written by a low-level senior accountant at Brightwick," Barnaby replied, checking his notes. "Her name is Pru Fenwick. She has been with the firm for nine years. She tried to tell the board that those four small routes were actually goldmines if managed correctly, but the management called her crazy and ignored her."

Caelum's eyes glinted with deep interest. "A woman who sees gold where fools see trash. I like her already. Buy Brightwick Freight immediately."

Barnaby blinked in surprise. "Buy it, sir? The whole company is broken!"

"Buy ninety percent of the equity for five hundred thousand dollars," Caelum ordered smoothly. "Pay off their immediate debts tonight. We will not use the Vanterpool name for this. Brightwick Freight will be my personal, independent spear. I will build it from the dead with my own brain, and I will smash Lucian Draymore's supply chains to dust."

Barnaby smiled proudly, bowing his head deeply. "Understood, Young Master! I will complete the transaction before midnight."

Seraphine said, her voice rising slightly. "It is about our marriage! I cannot talk about our personal life in front of strangers!"Thessaly let out a small, soft laugh. She stepped back slightly, holding up one hand in a polite gesture."I can step back into the office if you prefer, Mr. Caelum," Thessaly offered smoothly."No need, Thessaly," Caelum replied, not turning his head. "The blood tests are completely clear. You are six weeks pregnant. Your baby is healthy, but you are very weak. You need to rest and stop stressing yourself."Seraphine sat completely still. "Where did you think the money came from, Seraphine?" grandmother Odalys asked, her soft voice cutting through the heavy quiet of the living room. It was Friday evening inside the old mansion of the Ollivier family. Rain tapped gently against the tall glass windows. Seraphine sat on the dark velvet sofa, staring down at her cold cup of tea. Her hair was messy, and her eyes were red from crying. Beside her sat her mother Marguerite and her cousin Dagny, both looking pale and nervous. In the wooden rocking chair across from them sat Odalys Ollivier, the eighty-year-old grandmother and the true head of the family. She held a warm ceramic mug in her thin hands, her wise grey eyes looking closely at her granddaughter. "I thought... I thought I worked hard for it, Grandmother," Seraphine whispered, her voice weak and hoarse. "I spent sixteen hours a day in the office. I signed every document. I met every client." Odalys let out a slow, gentle sigh and shook her head. "Hard work is good

For three years, Caelum had never once spoken to her in a harsh voice. He had never yelled at her. He had never demanded anything from her. "Where is the money, Lucian?" Seraphine asked, her voice cracking in the quiet hallway of the bank.It was ten o'clock on a bright Thursday morning, but inside the executive office of First National Bank, the air felt freezing cold. Seraphine stood by the glass window, her hands clasped tightly together. Her silk blouse was creased, and dark circles shadowed her eyes. She had not slept for a single minute since Caelum signed the divorce papers two days ago.Lucian stood opposite her near the walnut desk. He was wearing his usual navy suit, but his silk tie was slightly crooked, and a faint sheen of sweat covered his forehead. He had spent the last three hours pacing back and forth, holding his cell phone to his ear, listening to continuous dial tones that ended in automatic voicemail."I am telling you to be patient, Seraphine," Lucian muttered, wiping his brow with the back of his hand. "My capital firm handles international investments. The transfer from our European accounts requir
