As Alex heard that familiar voice, he immediately recognized who it was. The woman at the other end was none other than Dr. Lucy Winchester, the fabled Miracle Maker for the rest of the world.

“We have been waiting for this day for so long. You don’t have to stay in the shadows anymore, master,” Dr. Lucy spoke in a voice gushing with relief that mingled with suppressed elation.

Ever since Alex had lost his powers, he had passed the baton to Dr. Lucy, instructing her to carry on the legacy of the Miracle Maker. But she was merely a disciple who had only just learned to dabble in medicine and genetic therapy.

The real title of the ‘Miracle Maker’ belonged to Alex himself, since he was the legendary physician who had cured thousands of critically ill patients over his lifetime and discovered vaccines for the most complex congenital diseases.

Alex stood frozen for a moment, his eyes staring blankly into the distance as he remembered his glorious past. He still couldn’t believe Dr. Lucy’s words. It all felt like a dream.

“Are you certain you can fix me? Or is this just another experiment?” he asked in a doubtful voice.

“I am a hundred percent sure of it. We have finally managed to create the God Serum. You only need to take a shot to regain all your lost powers,” she replied.

Alex was thrilled with her reply. He had waited three years for this day, and now the time had finally come. Without any second thoughts, he replied decisively, “Meet me tonight at Neon Heights. I’ll book a private room. Don’t keep me waiting.”

Meanwhile, outside Jakob’s hospital room, Felicia was fuming with rage. She had never expected a penniless loser like Alex to snub her like that, and the fact that he readily agreed to the divorce instead of begging her to stay only made it worse.

“I can’t believe this is what I get for feeding and sheltering that dog!” she muttered, clenching her fist so hard that she nearly broke her nail. “I should have kicked him out long ago.”

“Calm down, Felicia. He is just a nobody. You don’t need to—”

Robert stopped short as his phone suddenly rang in his pocket. As he pulled it out, he noticed it was his secretary.

“Give me the good news,” he said, expecting to hear that his people had found the Miracle Maker.

However, the reply from the other end dispelled all his illusions.

“We barely found any leads on her. The Miracle Maker is a ghost. My sources say that she can only be contacted by the most influential families in the country. Reaching her is impossible for anyone who doesn’t have secret connections with the Upper Circle.”

“Hello? I can’t hear you. The reception is terrible down here.” Faking a bad network connection, Robert walked out of the hospital to talk to his secretary in private.

As soon as he was alone, he changed his tone completely.

“Listen to me carefully, now. Just find any decent doctor and give her as much money as she needs to keep her mouth shut. If we can’t find the real Miracle Maker, we will create our own!” Robert spoke with a cunning grin flashing on his face. “I just want to marry Felicia. Her brother can die for all I care!”

Returning to Jakob’s hospital room, Robert put on a triumphant smile and announced confidently, “My secretary just got in touch with the Miracle Maker. She has agreed to treat Jakob. Also, I have already booked us a premium table at Neon Heights to celebrate. We will raise a toast to your brother’s good health tonight and pray for his rapid recovery.”

Felicia was overjoyed to hear the good news. She immediately threw herself at Robert and wrapped him in a warm hug.

“You truly are the best. Oh, Robert! I love you so much!” she gushed. “I am so glad I found you in my time of need. And I promise this night will be the start of our new life.”

Later that night, Alex arrived at Neon Heights, one of the city’s most expensive fine-dining restaurants.

Dressed in a plain white tee and cargo pants, he looked so out of place in this posh area that the valet immediately stopped him.

“I think you must have lost your way. The Gray Goose bar is that way,” he said, pointing at a run-down bar at the corner of the street.

But Alex ignored the young guy and brushed past him to enter the restaurant. As he walked down the hallway, the receptionist scrunched her nose and raised an eyebrow in disgust.

“We are not hiring any waiters…or dishwashers,” she said, pointing toward the door. “Please leave and don’t come back again.”

Alex remained calm and politely replied, “I have a reservation on the third floor for a private room.”

The receptionist burst into a scornful laugh as she looked at Alex’s plain clothes and cheap boots.

“Neon Heights is a highly exclusive establishment. We only cater to millionaires whose net worth exceeds ten million dollars. A simple table booking on the first floor costs fifty grand, and you’re talking about reserving a deluxe suite on the third floor?” she scoffed in a mocking tone. “You’d need to spend half a million just to book the cheapest private room in the restaurant. And the third floor is reserved for the Emerald Club members! Only the wealthiest and most influential people in this city are allowed in the deluxe suites!”

Alex’s expression turned cold as he heard the receptionist rambling about status and influence. He swiftly pulled out a black card and slapped it on the counter.

“This should do it. Now, just shut your trap and call someone to take me to my room.”

Without even looking at the card, the receptionist tore into Alex.

“You really need to learn your place. Get out of here before I call security and have you dragged out of this building!”

Hearing the commotion, the floor manager immediately rushed to the spot. He was about to ask the receptionist what was happening when he saw the black card lying on the counter. His face immediately went pale, and he turned to Alex.

“Please forgive me, sir! I didn’t know you were coming!” He exclaimed, dropping to his knees.

But I will fix my mistake now!”“Stop it, dad!” Nashoba cried from behind.“Shut your lips!” Holata snapped back. “This outsider has ruined my reputation and soiled our family’s legacy. He does not deserve to walk away from this!”“Put that gun down, chief,” Chayton intervened, stepping closer to grab the weapon. But Holata quickly turned the rifle’s barrel toward the hunter and hissed like an angry viper, ready to strike at any moment.“Get back! Do not challenge me, brother. I still wear the crown of the chief of this tribe!”“That is going to change very soon,” Chayton retorted fearlessly. “You cannot fight us all. We know the

Why has he returned then? Since when do thieves return to the home they have robbed?”Infuriated by his own son’s disobedience, Holata fumed and shook with rage.“You dare speak against your own father?
