It was then that Gideon fully realised he had been dead all this while, and the clothes he was previously wearing, which were already decaying, were all real, not his hallucination.
Gideon’s eyes widened as he asked, “You mean I have been dead for three years?” Clara began to mumble words in her mouth, as if already getting mental. “No, this can’t be possible. I saw him die.” Not quite long, the news spread across the department that Gideon was alive. His superior, Mr Muzan, rushed into Gideon’s office, and the moment he saw him, he froze. Muzan was a very close friend to Gideon despised he was his superior, though he was older than Gideon, and a very skilful and intelligent man. His intellect in the aspect of solving cases is unmatched by any. He went over to Gideon and softly held his hands. “I’m I hallucinating, or is this real?” Gideon stared at Muzan, but then he hugged him. Muzan had so many questions to ask, and so he invited Gideon to his office. Gideon sat on the chair, staring at his superior, who is also his best friend. “How did it happen,” Muzan asked, his face pale and confused. Gideon took a deep breath. “There’s a case I was working on that involved the Black Bull cartels. I somehow got hold of the son of the Black Bull leader, and then I proceeded to tackle the issue myself, but I was shot in the head. That’s the only thing I could remember.” Gideon explains, and he wishes he could explain more than what he has just said, but he can’t. He can’t start saying things about the translucent screen that he had an encounter with. And the voice that had been rumbling inside his mind. After carefully listening to what Gideon said, Muzan took a deep breath. “The case you are referring to is three years ago, which means you were dead three years ago or perhaps should I say gone missing.” Gideon sighed, his head slowly dropping. “Yes, Clara told me.” “But how was it possible?” Muzan asked again, but Gideon’s voice cut in. “My friend, the important thing here is that I’m now alive. Can you give me a brief detail of what has happened while I have been away?” Muzan was still trying to believe what Gideon had said to him. He had thought that Gideon had somehow faked his death. But he saw him die; he saw his lifeless form on the footage. How was he able to survive? The question remained unsolved inside Muzan Mind, but then Gideon’s voice snapped him back. “Muzan, can you stop sucking yourself into those thoughts of yours, please? We are talking about lifes here.” “Sorry, I was deep in thought.” Muzan softly apologised, and then he began. “After your death three years ago, the crime in this city skyrocketed. The Black Bull cartels had taken over most of the streets; even we, the police, are scared for our lives.” Gideon is a dedicated police officer. He had never expected that some piece of insolent crime bosses would take over the city. The words got him extremely angry, and so he slammed his feet on the desk. “This is unacceptable. How did this get to become like this? If this city is taking my bad guys, then how would it be safe for people to live in?” Muzan then moves his hands forward before gripping Gideon softly on his palms. “I have a lot of questions about how you have survived, but that doesn’t matter now; the most important thing presently is that you are back to work. Those bastards had done too much; let’s put them in the right place, which is behind bars.” Gideon smiled; those exact words are what he had been waiting for from Muzan, and he just said them, which just tightened his passion in making sure he fixed the condition the city is in. Gideon’s dedication to his job was so recognised that any file that’s put under his custody always gets solved, be it any case of any calibre. Gideon then held Muzan with his other hand. “I’m happy to be back.” Gideon proudly said before relaxing his back on the chair he was seated at. After the conversation with Muzan, Gideon went back to his old apartment, and when he knocked on the door, it was a different person who came in and opened the door. Gideon was stunned as to who it was. Then he realised that his house must have been occupied by someone else due to how long he had gone missing. As the man saw Gideon, he raised a brow. “Who are you looking for, sir?” Gideon gently turned to walk away, but the man stepped forward. “I’m asking you a question.” The man was obviously high; he was holding a cigarette in his fingers. Gideon knew any explanation he would have with the man would probably be a waste of time, so he continued walking away. The man then pulled out a gun and pointed it at Gideon. “You think I don’t know who you are and your main intent here? You are obviously here to take my money again, you bastard. I’m ready for thugs like you.” The man had recently been robbed by some gangsters, and he had assumed that Gideon was one of them. He was robbed of all his money and beaten up mercilessly, and because of that, he bought a gun to protect himself on their next coming. He had never expected that today would be his lucky day in testing what he had bought. Gideon paused as he noticed what the man was holding; he then slightly raised his hands up in the air. Gideon wasn’t having any gun of sorts for his honorable. “Mr, please stay calm. I’m not a bad person nor a thug. I lived here before, and I had just come to check on my belongings.” Gideon gently explained, not wanting to anger the man, but this only made the man’s rage skyrocket. “What did you say?” The man drunkenly raised a brow. “There’s no way this house is yours. Now I see what you are trying to do. Are you trying to trick me so I let down my guard so you can beat me and rub me as you and your squad have done previously?” It was then that Gideon realised what was really happening and he had to take action if not the man would shoot at him. Though it was obvious that the man was depressed and controlled by rage about what had happened to him. At this point, Gideon knew he had to defend himself because there was no word he could say that would convince the drunk man that his intention was clean and he was not here to hurt him nor take any of his things. Gideon sighted a trash bin beside him, and if he dived on time, he could at least get a chance to keep himself covered from the man’s bullets. Gideon made the move, but then the man pulled the trigger and the bullet pierced through Gideon’s chest midair, creating a deep hole. As the man did this, he froze. He had never once shot a human before, and this scared him, but then he gripped the gun tightly, but his wrist was trembling. Gideon stood up from the ground; he lowered his head to the hole that was in his chest, but he couldn’t feel pain. “What in the hell...” Gideon mumbles with disbelief, his eyes widening. And just then, his system’s translucent screen appeared midair, and the same mechanical voice that he heard inside his head sounded again. Host regeneration abilities had been activated; host injuries would be healed in ten seconds. After this voice came through with a text, a counter appeared below the translucent screen and began counting downwards. As the numbers deplete, the hole that was created by the bullet on Gideon’s chest begins to heal, and the moment the counter reaches one, the hole closes and the bullet that had been stuck inside falls to the ground.Latest Chapter
Tracy Of The Past
Gideon went over to the man who had self-destructed, and the detective's night vision scanned the black bull tattoo on his wrist. After scanning it, it gave an indication for Gideon to retrieve the man's watch. The detective's night vision was as though Gideon was putting on mechanical glasses; it could scan objects, showing whether they could be used for investigation or not, and the watch, which was indicated for Gideon to retrieve, was embedded with the button that self-destructed the man, which means Gideon could use it as a track in getting to the cartel boss. Gideon slightly bent, then picked up the wristwatch and slid it into his pocket. He went over to the document he was in possession of and slipped it into his bag before heading out of the apartment. Before getting on his bike, he pulled out his phone and dialed Muzan's number before placing a call. “Hello, sir, I was attacked by black bull men. Can you assign some police to come get rid of the men in my new apartment?”
Shadow In The Apartment
Muzan still couldn't let himself believe what Gideon had told him about what had happened to him; he had assumed and finalized that Gideon must have probably faked his death.Gideon walked out of the headquarters to a new place he had rented. Though after his demise, his money was still intact in his accounts. He opened the door to the apartment and went in, but soon noticed some things that weren't right: the place where he had kept some papers and other things he used for his investigation was slightly shifted from where he had previously dropped them, as though someone had tampered with them. And with thoughtful words he muttered under his breath, “There's no doubt, someone must have come here.”Gideon was very sensitive to his environment, especially to things he valued like his belongings, and he knew the exact way he had kept the documents before leaving the house early today, when he rented it, which is clear evidence that someone must have come, but the question remains, what
Unatural Strength
The man stared at what was happening; he was speechless, and in that moment he let go of the gun he was gripping tight, and it fell to the ground. The man dropped to his knees and at that moment he began to beg. “Please don’t kill me.” After the mutation that had happened, about fifteen years ago. Most humans weren’t affected, and the few humans who were affected in the city were seen as gods and feared. The man currently sees Gideon as one of them because he knows that death is for sure for him after making the careless move of pulling the trigger. Gideon was stunned as to what had just happened. “Dope, that means I have gotten a superpower.” The thought rumbled inside his mind as he thought about it. Gideon wasn’t a mutant; he wasn’t impacted by the chemical pollution outbreak that had occurred years back, so what had just happened to him startled him because he knew only mutants were capable of doing something of the sort. Gideon was confused; he touched his chest before looki

Before him was the translucent screen floating midair, with the words he had just heard in his mind in text form displayed across the screen. Neither did Gideon understand what it meant. Gideon gently stood from the ground, but where he was currently was a fundamentally different place, a deep and dense forest, a place he had never been
Sins Of The Father
Gideon swiftly adjusted his coat before stepping forward. “How did you know of my coming?” “Hehe,” the cartel boss laughed before standing up. “I know of every single thing that’s happening in this city. The mistake you made was ever pushing forward in this investigation after fully knowing my men were behind it.” Gideon didn’t flinch at the threat the cartel boss was throwing at him. He casually smirked before replying. “I’m a police officer, so what did you expect? I’m doing my job.” The cartel boss chuckled. “Hmmm, that’s fascinating. I’m impressed. It’s nice that you are accepting your death willingly and proudly.” Gideon has only one task to get done tonight. If he does it successfully, he won’t only fix one of the disturbing crime problems in the city but will also be a hero because the cartel boss he was facing now has a bounty on his head, dead or alive. “What makes you think you can kill me? Anyways, I’m not here to take you down only; I’m also here to confirm if you are
