"Come Ares" David ushers, guiding Ares further into the office to an open book shelf that stood firm with books filled in it.

He pulled a book, the shelf split open coming in view is a dark circle-ish button. David instantly pressed it open and a handprint detector slid open.

"Go ahead!" David ushers.

Ares gave him a skeptical look before he placed his hand on the print, instantly the wall clock opened.

"Now what you're about to see, it's not but the future of the Dominatus Aeternus which now lies in your hands." David says.

The lights clicked on and Ares was left in awe.

The room is vast, with high ceilings adorned with intricate designs. The walls are lined with weapons from various martial arts, each one telling its own story of discipline and strength. The room is dimly lit, creating an atmosphere of reverence.

In the center of the room stands a display case, housing the most prized weapons. Ares's heart races as they approach, his fingers itching to touch the polished steel. The weapons glisten under the soft lighting, their craftsmanship evident in every curve and detail.

The portraits of past leaders hang proudly on the walls, their stern gazes watching over the room. Each portrait captures the essence of their martial prowess. Ares feels a deep sense of respect and admiration for these legendary figures, knowing that they have paved the way for countless martial artists.

The room exudes a powerful energy, as if the very essence of martial arts lingers in the air.

This room, with its weapons and portraits, is more than just a physical space. It is a testament to the indomitable spirit of martial arts, a reminder of the dedication and sacrifice required to master this ancient art form.

"What is this?"

David chuckles, "This is Dominatus Aeternus. It was first introduced by your great grandfather's zeal to seek justice and haunt the illegal activities down. It was then passed down to your grandfather then to your father and now to you Ares"

"What?"

David nods, "You're the future of org now. The faith if DA lies in your hands"

This is all too much to digest. First he gets to prison and meets an eccentric old man; learns Martial arts and medicinal ways of treating. He then gets released from jail and meets his mother blind and father dead only to find out yet again that Mr Russor isn't his father but some legendary wealthy deceased old man.

"If Mr and Mrs Russor aren't my parents then who are?"

"Magnus Lockwood and Amelia Lockwood. You are the only child they had. When your father got involved with a secret agency with his most trusted ally, he didn't know what he was getting into because Roderick had always had something up his sleeves yet the trust your father had in him is unexplainable." David paused sucking a breath,

"Your father only found out when it was too late leaving your parents with no choice but to give you off before they got to you" David's uneasiness was visible.

"You were barely three years old when they killed your mother. Magnus assigned me to take you to the Russor cause the night they killed your mother they didn't actually come for her but you"

"But why?"

"Why? That's something both you and I remain unknown to. I believe your father has information about it but clearly didn't dim it necessary to know as of now" David explains. "And that is what you and I need to know. You have to keep on with your family's legacy"

"What if I don't want any part in this?" Ares asks.

David chuckles, "You don't have a choice. With your father gone the organization needs a ruler now and you're the only blood left of Lockwoods'"

Ares shakes his head, "So that's it, you're just going to handover things to me when I have no information or experience and you expect me to rule some secret agency I as well know nothing of?" The annoyance in Ares's voice is evident.

"Yes Ares. You'd be thought. I believe Apollo has done his part and now it's my job to see to you handle things as they should be before I could step down" David reasons.

Ares shakes his head, "You can take it." He blurts, "All of this, you can take the position"

David laughed, "I understand how you feel Ares and you're bound to but as I said earlier, we don't have much time."

"Bu–"

David cuts him off, "Oops I almost forgot, you are to meet with the Kingsley, you have a proposal with their daughter, signed and accepted by your father"

"What!" He fires flabbergasted.

David's smile widens as he nods enthusiastically, "I know, it sounds crazy, right? But that's what makes it exciting! The Kingsleys may be at the top of the social ladder, but that's exactly why we need to approach them in a way they'd never suspect. It's all about playing the game, Ares."

He leans in closer, his voice filled with mischief, "Lucas Kingsley is a key player in the Vortex, and we need to find a way to get close to him. Marrying their daughter as an undercover persona is our best shot. It's risky, but if we play our cards right, we can infiltrate their world and expose the truth."

Ares raises an eyebrow skeptically, "But the Kingsleys? They're like the epitome of wealth and influence. You really think they'd fall for it?"

David chuckles, "I get it, it sounds like a long shot. But that's where our brilliance comes in. We'll create a persona so convincing, so compelling, that even the Kingsleys won't see through it. We'll weave a story so intricate, they'll have no choice but to let you into their inner circle which would be hard considering the fact that you're coming from a middle class family."

He leans back, a glint in his eyes, "Think about it, Ares. We have the skills, the intelligence. When we finally expose Lucas Kingsley and bring down the Vortex, it'll be a victory like no other."

Okay Ares is a minute from spewing off his annoyance.

"Your father had us threaten Kingsley into the proposal with you but not you"

Ares gave him an I don't know what you're talking about look.

"Meaning, your new identity is the man getting married to their daughter Elena. That way it won't raise any investigations about you. Kingsley won't have to go into further details about you"

"Who are the Cortex and who is the leader?"

"Marcus DuPont"

A sly smirk curved on Ares lips.

Oh he Is definitely in.

Russor was not stupid. The ring alone could not do so much. It was only a way to lure Elena into his lair, get hold of her, and of course, make Ares hopeless. She had suffered an external bleeding from the blow, making blood to trickle down the side of her face. She was tied up, and thrown beside her son, who laid helplessly on the floor.Russor was an epitome of a heartless demon. He could not even pity the 4-year-old boy!He asked the man to take a perfect picture of the mother and son in all angles, and sent it to Ares.He added a caption to it, which said: "How do you like this present? Any further delay, and you'll be gifted their dead bodies. I'm sure they are more important to you than that inheritance, be smart, Ares. Be smart."Allison came back from the black web. She had been there for a while, trying to track Russor's location, but it was all in vain. She needed to check up on the duo, and when she got the house, she found it strange as to how quiet it was.Could it be th

"Alright, then. Great choice you have made, Elena! You have less than a day," he said."What?" "I give you 12 hours. I believe that you are a smart woman, you can get it done in 6 hours, even. Once you get it, call me, and I will send you the location. Remember, no one. I mean, no one at all should know about this," he voiced sinisterly."Do not harm my son, please. I will bring the ring to you, just don't do anything to him," she begged, feeling a sense of guilt, for being so irresponsible."Get to it, already. Your time has already started. You now have 10 hours to go, if I were you, I would not say anything further. Good luck!" He said, and let out a wry laughter. The phone beeped. He had ended the call, leaving her to devise a plan to get the ring. She sat on the bed, and didn't feel comfortable, so she began to pace around the room, racking her head, trying to come up with something. How was she going to get the ring?
