Chapter 4

I took his words into consideration.a nearby farm. How far is your farm from here, please?

"Nearby Canutt.Possibly more than a mile.

I’ve had a terrible night and a rough start to the day.I would be willing to visit your farm.Additionally, worgs typically travel in groups.Saving you from one worg only to have you eaten by another would hurt my conscience.I'll accompany you back and join you.If there are any sheep that need to be gathered, we might also want to take your sheep.

"Canutt, that would be greatly appreciated!I'm not one to fight.

"I comprehend.Hold on a minute.

I took a walk to Lisa.I spoke gently as I got closer. Can you hear me, Lisa?”

Lisa cooed a little at me as it looked up from its grizzly meal.Yes, she comprehends my words. That is positive.

"Lisa, I'm going to bring the boy there," I said. There, farm. You come to me after you're finished.Understand?”

Lisa cooed at me before returning to the grizzly meal in front of her.I couldn't blame her, though.Did she not deliver the fatal blow?I returned to Steve by walking.Okay, let's go.Set the example.

Steve gave his nod and began his departure toward the southwest.I followed the young man and thought about what he had to say.A young person was watching sheep when he saw a worg and went after it.The fact that he cast a magical spell is what piques my interest.A young person flings magic around. He stated, "I'm not a fighter."There is, in my opinion, more than one way to fight.

I could hear sheep bleating a short while later. This indicates that Steve will not leave without anything.Small miracles should be celebrated with gratitude.Steve was pleased after taking a few minutes to gather the sheep. This was due to the fact that he advised me that all of the sheep are present.I thought it was odd that I smiled at him.To begin, a worg does not travel by itself.Typically, they travel in groups of three to six.Second, a worg would quietly stalk its prey before stealing it.I found it odd that the worg just jumped out and didn't take any sheep with it.Regardless, I helped the boy gather his father's sheep while I kept my thoughts to myself. We slowly returned to the southwest, probably to his father's farm.

We made it to the farm.Furthermore, it was a sizeable farm. There were a number of calves and a dozen cows, pigs in a fenced-off area, and chickens in a coop. The farmhouse is a decent two-story stone and wood structure with glass windows.I could tell that this farm was not struggling either, even though it was not a wealthy area.It was in many ways refreshing.I might have been able to get some well-deserved rest here.It has only been a short while since I awoke.Steve was leading the sheep into a pen as we approached the farmhouse.A human senior man walks out of the house and toward us.This is probably Steve's father, at this point.

"Steve, you're returning early.Also, you're a mess.Did anything occur?”

"Yes, dad.A worgon attacked me.I was saved by this dwarf. He is called Canutt.

“A worg!?!Are you fine?”

"I'm fine, dad.The sheep are also.Greetings to Canutt!

I was judged by the older man.I also followed suit. This man has been in combat.Due to a previous injury, the man has a slight limp in his left leg.Additionally, I observed a wicked slash that ran down his forearm.Yes, this man has fought in the past.He came up to me and gave me a handshake.Canutt, my name is Calvin, and I'm Alex Randoss.Thank you so much for saving my son's life.Is there anything I can say to express my appreciation for your assistance?

I reciprocated the warrior's embrace;Again, it's reassuring to know that some normalcy exists.True, Calvin.A chance to unwind and care for my wounds would be greatly appreciated.

"Friend Canutt, consider it finished, consider it finished.Dana, we are honored to have you here!

A charming older woman looks around after emerging from the doorway. She hugs her son when she sees him.I can tell that Steve is hurt as Dana looks over him.Steve is swiftly turned around and then back by Dana.care and examination of the mother, or perhaps she was a former field medic. The future will tell. She looked at me, satisfied, and then gave me a worried look. When Dana got to me, she started looking at my wounds right away.Yes, a former field physician.Thank you, Ma'am. I'm fine. You let me judge that.I heard that you're called Canutt.Dana is my name. So, now that the introductions are over, they can enter our home.I must properly treat those injuries.

I initially considered resisting. However, she might be able to provide a few clues as to what took place to me yesterday.I followed her suggestion and entered their farmhouse.A side room was my destination. The walls of this room were covered in various liquids, salves, towels, and other items, giving the impression of an infirmary.I was fortunate to find myself in this situation.Dana placed me in a chair and began examining my wounds. The hoof print on my forehead was the first location.

"You kill a worg, but a mule kicks you in the face?"

"No, ma'am,"What were you doing with a hippoLisa? That was the left haunch of a hippoLisa."

I was extracting it from the tree.I saw the hippoLisa in the tree and heard a crash on my way here. She kicked me after I got her down.

"She's a hippoLisa.Well, I won't tell anyone that you got kicked in the ass by a woman. However, I can't do much about the black eyes.

I shared her laughter. It was a very funny point of humor.Dexterous hands and keen eyes, humor, and no nonsenseShe makes me think of a dwarf woman.Thanks.”

Goblin sword. Also deep.beginning to contract infection as well.A filthy lot.

Dana began scrubbing the wound with a clear liquid. The substance, whatever it was, was potent. It appeared as though a healthy burn had reached my core.I grunted lightly and groaned a little.Damn, this felt like fire from the Greeks, but it was inside you.

"Two cuts with serrations. Most likely hobgoblins.Another unclean group.Additionally, infection is beginning to set in.

Wonderful, more internal fire.Is this where the human proverb "killing with kindness" applies?I think I'd have preferred a second punch to the face.

That ought to stop any further body rot.Despite the deep and fatal wounds, you are resilient and still here.Additionally, the purifier would have caused others to pass out right now due to the severity of the wounds.

I wouldn't object to passing out right now.Purifier?Appropriately named antiseptic

Her expression softened when she turned to look at me.Those wounds, Canutt, are more than just physical. They are ensnared by a dark magic.Dark magic is purified by the liquid purifier. It hasn't been used by me in a while.

That clarifies a lot. That explains how my fellows were defeated by a mass of goblins and hobgoblins.Veteran warriors lost their lives.Additionally, a further point that bothered me.At the very least, goblins lack organization. The leader would be impressive if goblins and hobgoblins were organized and had enough power to defeat eighty dwarves.Powerful enough to prevent the horde from disorganizing, smart enough to keep the horde together, and disciplined enough to teach those without strategy.Strength is valued by goblins and hobgoblins.Fear and intimidation are used as leadership tools.Despite my disagreement, I cannot deny its potency.

"What is it?"Dana felt a welt the size of a fist on the back of my head.In fact, I groaned even more and let out a small sigh of agony.

I apologize, Canutt.I really don't mean to hurt you.You have experienced enough. However, I must ensure that you do not have any fractures or infections.

I nodded. She said everything in a logical way.I therefore tolerated her examinations by bending my head forward. My head began to explode even more despite her efforts to be gentle.I had no idea how bad that lump on my head could get.The pain subsides when I hear whispered chant.Dana was a priestess and a healer!I let out a second, more contented sigh.Additionally, I noticed a slight easing in tension in my shoulders.I hadn't realized how rigid and tense I was.

"This one lacks magic. There were also no penetrations or fractures. However, it will take several days for that to pass.It might even create a knot that lasts forever.

"It would be a small price to pay, ma'am, considering what I have been through,"

She turned around and gave a nod.You should drink.Additionally, I believe I have the solution for you.Unlocking a faraway cabinet, Dana went there. She pours a bluish liquid from another bottle out of a large glass. My attention was immediately drawn to this's scent.I received the glass from her.I couldn't believe it when I looked at the liquid.

"Dwarf beings?Dana, you're a lovely woman who always has surprises!

She chuckled.Canutt, I'll be right back.I must assure Steve and Alex that you will be alright.

"Oh, there is going to be another before you leave."

"Again, a dwarf Canutt?"

Lisa, no.Lisa, the hippo.I told her to come here,” Dana looked puzzled at me.

She will not harm you or your loved ones.I'm certain of it.In point of fact, Lisa dealt the worg the fatal blow. While she moved into position, I just kept it occupied.

Dana gave a second nod.Canutt, be right back,” and left me alone.I felt the first real relief from all of my wounds, especially the throbbing in my head, thanks to the dwarf spirits and her spell.I moved to one of the two beds from the chair. It was straightforward, sturdy, and at this very moment, the best feeling I have ever had.Given that I can only recall yesterday, I suppose that says little.I didn't care right now, though.I could already tell that this human family has a hisCanutty and a set of rules. That gave me solace, the primary genuine feeling of solace since yesterday.
