Chapter 1

“Aiden, I want you to always remember everything which I have told you earlier. Remember to hide or protect this card from every other members of our family and outsiders. I have saved fifty thousand dollars in this card for your upkeeps and feedings. Please don't forget the code and do not allow anybody to take it from you.”

“Alright, honey. Don't worry yourself. Have a candy!”

“Aiden, this is not time for me to lick some candy. I am very sorry that I am about to leave you and get remarried to Mr Jackson Foleys and will no longer be available to protect you or provide for your needs. I really do not have another option than to marry into the Foleys in order to complete the project, and save my family from this impeding doom. Please, forgive me, Aiden.”

“Don't be sorry, honey. Have a candy!”

“Aiden, I really do wish that you weren't foolish and mentally sick right now. I really wish that you were capable of saving both myself and my family from all these troubles so that I wouldn't have to divorce you and get remarried to Jackson. I would have been happier and more fulfilled to honor my late grandpa’s dieing request by remaining your wife but I need to complete that project and end all these troubles. Please, don't be angry at me.”

“Stop crying honey. Don't be sorry again. Have some candy!”

These were discussions between Miss Jade Smith, the most beautiful granddaughter of the Smith family and Aiden Stein, the useless, foolish and mentally sicked live-in son-in-law of the Smith family.

They were both husband and wife and have been married for the past five years, now.

Five years ago, Mr Jasper Smith Senior requested Jade who was his favorite granddaughter to marry Aiden Stein after she accidentally brought him into their house, even when Aiden was practically crazy.

Back then, Mr Jasper Smith Senior praised Miss Jade for her kind and thoughtfulness in bringing Aiden into their family after she nearly rammed her car on him. He further stated that Aiden was going to make the Smith's rise to power, wealth and fame in the future and, that Jade was destined to marry him and through the marriage bring fortune into their household.

Jade’s grandfather was a metaphysist and wizard in palmistry who could read people's future just by looking at them. So, none of the members of the Smith's family countered him when he told Jade to marry the crazy Aiden even when they were practically uncomfortable with his statement and ideas. After all, he was the patriarch of their family.

Jade was equally not excited about it when Mr Jasper Smith Senior asked her to marry Aiden. However, after recalling how her grandfather loved and cherished her right from her childhood, she ended up marrying Aiden. She believed that her grandfather cannot deliberately ask her to do what will harm her or her future. She believed that Aiden was going to make her future very great and bright.

Meanwhile, Mr Jasper Smith died just a night after Jade married Aiden and severed both Aiden and Jade's status in their house.

For the past five years, Jade has been the one protecting and providing for Aiden’s need because every other members of the Smith’s family despised and wanted to get rid of him. The Smith family was in a deep financial crisis and their family business group was at the verge of declaring bankruptcy unless someone steps up to save them.

The members of the Smith's family were tired of keeping a worthless and crazy person as son-in-law simply because of some useless mythical assumption and beliefs of their late patriarch who said that Aiden would one day bring wealth, glory and fame into their family.

Amidst all the pressure to divorce, trash or get rid of Aiden Stein, Miss Jade had always remained undaunted and unyielding to her family’s pressure, protecting and providing for Aiden notwithstanding the tantrums and ridiculous words thrown to her by family members.

Because Aiden Stein was just a mentally insane person, he was not concerned about what the members of the Smith family were saying or acting towards him. Instead, he only goes about carrying packets of candy whilst playing games with a rubber-motor toy which was bought for him by his wife, Jade Smith.

Although Jade had always remained undaunted and unyielding to her family pressure in trashing Aiden because of the respect and love she had for her late grandfather who requested that she married Aiden, things were no longer funny for her because her family was nearing a doom and there was no one to save them except for Mr Jackson Foleys who insisted that Jade must divorce Aiden and get married to him before he could help save the Smiths from ruins.

The Smith’s family business group which was being managed by Jade was about to declare bankruptcy and Jade had invested all her efforts, time and resources into the business for the past fifteen years now.

Because she didn't want to let go of all her past efforts and resources, she made up her mind to marry Jackson Foleys so that she can save her family and business group from ruins and bankruptcy.

After reminding Aiden to safeguard the bank cards and remember its secret code, she entered into her car and then headed straight to welfare department where she would dissolved her marriage to Aiden Stein and thereafter get remarried to Jackson Foleys.

Moment later, Jade arrived welfare department alongside Aiden Stein who was carrying packets of candies and rubber-motor toy in his hand.

“Grandma, why is Jade here with her crazy husband? Does she want to provoke Mr Foleys and make him change his mind from saving our family?”

A short and skinny lady frustratedly asked an older looking woman the moment she set her eyes on both Aiden and jade who had just arrived at the welfare department.
