Ethan's eyes locked onto Dr. Taylor's, his mind racing with questions. He didn't know if he could trust her, but he had to know more.

"What do you mean by controlling my mind?" Ethan asked.

Dr. Taylor's eyes seemed to gleam with a mix of sadness and determination.

"The facility has been experimenting with mind control technology," she said.

Ethan's eyes widened in horror. Mind control technology? That was a terrifying prospect.

"What kind of technology?" Ethan asked.

Dr. Taylor's eyes locked onto his.

"They're using a device that can manipulate your thoughts and actions," she said.

Ethan's mind was racing. A device that could manipulate his thoughts and actions? That was a nightmare scenario.

"How do I stop it?" Ethan asked.

Dr. Taylor's eyes seemed to bore into his soul.

"You have to trust me," she said.

Ethan's instincts told him that he shouldn't trust her. But there was something in her eyes that made him hesitate.

"What's in it for you?" Ethan asked.

Dr. Taylor's eyes clouded over, and she looked away. "I used to work at the facility," she said.

Ethan's eyes narrowed. She used to work at the facility? What did that mean?

"What happened?" Ethan asked.

Dr. Taylor's eyes seemed to gleam with a mix of sadness and anger. "I discovered what they were doing," she said.

Ethan's eyes locked onto hers. "What did you do?" Ethan asked.

Dr. Taylor's eyes seemed to bore into his soul. "I tried to stop them," she said.

Ethan's mind was racing. Dr. Taylor had tried to stop them? What had happened?

"Why should I trust you?" Ethan asked.

Dr. Taylor's eyes locked onto his. "Because I'm the only one who can help you," she said.

Ethan's instincts told him that he shouldn't trust her. But there was something in her eyes that made him hesitate.

Ethan's eyes locked onto Dr. Taylor's. He took a deep breath and made a decision.

"Okay, I'll trust you," Ethan said.

Dr. Taylor's eyes seemed to gleam with a mix of relief and determination.

"I can help you disable the mind control device," she said.

Ethan's eyes narrowed.

"How do we do it?" Ethan asked.

Dr. Taylor's eyes locked onto his. "We need to get to the central control room," she said.

Ethan's mind was racing. "What's in the central control room?" Ethan asked.

Dr. Taylor's eyes seemed to bore into his soul.

"The device that controls your mind is located there," she said.

Ethan's eyes widened in horror.

"We need to move fast," Dr. Taylor said, "

Ethan nodded, and together, they started to move through the forest.

*As they walked, Dr. Taylor explained her plan. She told Ethan that she had been working on a way to disable the mind control device, but it was going to be a difficult task.

"We need to be careful," Dr. Taylor said, "

Ethan nodded, his senses on high alert.

Suddenly, they heard footsteps. Ethan's heart skipped a beat.

"What is it?" Ethan asked.

Dr. Taylor's eyes locked onto his. "It's the guards," she said.

Ethan's instincts told him to run.

"We need to move," Dr. Taylor said.

Ethan nodded, and together, they started to run through the forest.

Ethan, Dr. Taylor and Maya ran as fast as they could. Their feet pounded the earth, and their breathing waslabouredd. Ethan's heart was racing, and his senses were on high alert.

"We need to find a place to hide," Dr. Taylor said.

Ethan's eyes scanned the surroundings, looking for a place to take cover. They were in a dense part of the forest, with tall trees and thick underbrush.

"There," Ethan said, pointing to a cluster of rocks.

Dr. Taylor nodded, and they all sprinted towards the rocks. They hid behind them, panting heavily.

"We can't stay here for long," Dr. Taylor said, "

Ethan nodded, his eyes scanning the surroundings. Maya looked worried, her eyes darting back and forth.

"I see a stream nearby," Ethan said.

Dr. Taylor's eyes locked onto his. "Let's go," she said

They all moved towards the stream, trying to lose the guards. The sound of rushing water grew louder, and they followed it to the stream.

"We need to get in the water," Dr. Taylor said, "

Ethan nodded, and they all waded into the stream. The cold water was a shock to Ethan's system, but he knew they had to keep moving.

"We need to move downstream," Dr. Taylor said, "

Ethan nodded, and they all started to move downstream, trying to lose the guards. As they walked, Ethan asked Dr. Taylor more questions: "

"What's the plan to disable the mind control device?" Ethan asked.

Dr. Taylor's eyes locked onto his.

"We need to get to the central control room and destroy the device," she said.

Ethan's mind was racing.

"How do we get past the guards?" Ethan asked.

Dr. Taylor's eyes seemed to gleam with determination.

"I have an idea," she said.

Ethan's eyes narrowed. "What is it?" Ethan asked.

Dr. Taylor's eyes locked onto his. "We'll use the ventilation system to get to the central control room," she said.

Maya's eyes widened in surprise. "Are you sure that will work?" Maya asked.

Dr. Taylor nodded. "It's our best chance," she said.

Ethan's instincts told him to trust her, but he was still unsure.

Ethan's eyes locked onto Dr. Taylor's, He took a deep breath and made a decision. "Okay, let's do it," Ethan said.

Dr. Taylor's eyes seemed to gleam with determination.

"We need to be careful," she said.

Maya nodded, her eyes still wide with worry.

"I'll lead the way," Dr. Taylor said.

Ethan nodded, and they all followed Dr. Taylor, as she led them towards the ventilation system.

As they moved through the forest, Ethan couldn't shake off the feeling that they were being watched. He glanced around but saw nothing out of the ordinary.

"Stay close," Dr. Taylor whispered. Ethan nodded, and they all moved closer together.

They reached the ventilation system, and Dr. Taylor began to work.

On the vent cover. Ethan watched as she expertly removed it, revealing a dark and narrow tunnel.

"This is it," Dr. Taylor said, "

Ethan's heart was racing as he looked into the tunnel.

"Let's go," Dr. Taylor said, "

Ethan nodded, and they all crawled into the tunnel.

As they moved through the tunnel, Ethan's senses were on high alert.

He could hear the sound of machinery humming in the distance.

"We're getting close," Dr. Taylor whispered, "

Ethan's heart was racing with excitement and fear.

Hannah led the way, scanning each corner with her rifle; Maya leaned against Ethan, her strength wavering from the surge that nearly tore her mind apart. Dr. Taylor carried a portable case filled with recovered data shards while Dr. Myles walked in silence, her mechanical eye flickering like a heartbeat trying to stabilize.“Power’s still unstable across sectors,” Taylor muttered, adjusting his wrist display. “Whatever we did to the Core, it’s bleeding through the grid.”“Good,” Hannah said. “Le

Hannah flanked the rear, weapon raised, while Dr. Taylor monitored a portable data rig. Maya stayed close to Ethan, her expression fragile yet determined. The hum of the underground network grew stronger the deeper they went — a low, throbbing frequency that resonated with the core of the earth itself.“Signal strength rising,” Taylor muttered. “We’re approaching the central conduit.”Myles nodded without looking up. “That’s where the Core

Ethan could still hear the thunder of the falling debris, still see the flash of her hand as the dust consumed her. Her last words burned in his mind like fire:“Find the Core before they do.”He clenched his jaw and kept walking. For minutes that felt like hours, the only sounds were their breaths and the distant drip of condensation from the walls. Then, from the static-filled comms channel, a faint voice broke through.“...Ethan... if you’re hearing this... follow the pulse.”Ethan froze. “Wait—did you hear that?”Maya’s eyes widened. “That was—Dr. Myles?”Hannah
