Chapter 1 The Incident

In a world where most people are superpowered, bad things often happen that go unnoticed. However, Kidnagan's bad childhood story was different. Everyone in the Land of Lenka Kingdom and Artshimmeri Kingdom knew about it.

It wasn't because Kidnagan came from a famous family, but everyone knew what Kidnagan had done after he lost his memories of life.

In a small village in the Land of Lenka Kingdom, Kidnagan was found sitting pensively in the pouring rain by an elderly couple.

Kidnagan thought that the two elderly people were his parents. But when standing in front of the door of a building, Kidnagan realized something was wrong.

When the door was opened by a man dressed as an orphanage officer, Kidnagan realized that the two elderly people were not his parents.

On that rainy evening, Kidnagan officially became one of the residents of the orphanage.

Kidnagan spent day after day feeling empty. Kidnagan didn't care anymore if he was abandoned by his parents.

Although a nobleman came to adopt, unfortunately, Kidnagan's body characteristics were a problem. White and smooth skin that looks fragile like a baby's; all kinds of hair that looks blonde; and eyes with yellow irises, making people who understand the history of the 'Paranungsa world' think that Kidnagan's parents were mages who performed forbidden rituals in order to obtain an Esper offspring.

Plus, Kidnagan did not deny that his hearing was very painful when he was in a crowd. This kept him away from being adopted by the nobleman.

Eventually, after two months of Kidnagan not being adopted for the same reason, the owner of the orphanage named Rooben revealed his true colors unknown to the public and the nobles.

Kidnagan was put in a warehouse behind the main building of the orphanage. It turned out that Kidnagan was not the first child to be locked up there. Kidnagan could see dozens of malnourished orphans.

In the soundproof, windowless, and foul-smelling warehouse, Kidnagan was put to work sewing like the other orphans.

While in the main building, Kidnagan only sewed for learning purposes. However, here Kidnagan was truly treated like a slave who had to sew twenty garments per day.

Now Kidnagan realized why the orphanage was run by men. The five men were evil people who used orphans to beg for the mercy of nobles to get a lot of gold coins that could be exchanged for an increase in his Mage level.

One day, Rooben was angry at a little girl who had just been brought into the warehouse because she couldn't sew and could only hurt her fingers.

"You! Are you stupid or an idiot?! Why do I have to keep healing you with magic, when you're completely useless?!" Rooben slapped her so hard.

Not only that, when the little girl cried, Rooben grabbed and hit her repeatedly until the little girl's face was covered in blood. "No matter if your eyes are myopic, the luxurious food that has become one with your flesh is a debt that you must repay with your life! You are now a slave who must obey me!"

The little girl spoke so softly because she was helpless. "Free... me."

"I said! You owe me!" Rooben grinned as he grasped the little girl's hand.

"It hurts... please, let go of my hand!"

"What did you say? Huh?" Rooben smiled while glancing at every child in the room.

The sound of a very loud scream could be heard echoing in the room as the little girl's fingers were grasped until they were crushed by Rooben.

Rooben grinned as he looked at the other orphans who looked terrified. For Rooben, this incident was a valuable lesson for them to work harder.

However, Kidnagan walked over to the tortured little girl. Kidnagan's yellow sliced eyes were seen staring angrily.

Rooben smiled because Kidnagan was a child who never complained or made mistakes and could be used to discipline other children.

"Kid, are you bothered by her screaming?"

"Yes, the screaming is killing me!"

Rooben laughed. "Come here... teach this little girl a lesson!"

The little girl cried and screamed while trying to escape Rooben's grasp out of fear of Kidnagan. "Please... I promise I won't make any more mistakes!"

The next thing Kidnagan did instantly made all the orphans scream hysterically. Kidnagan intended to grab the child to trick Rooben. However, Kidnagan's hand was inexplicably wrapped in the power of an esper.

And...

His small touch blew the little girl's head off until blood splattered the room.

"You!" Rooben was so shocked that he unconsciously jumped away from Kidnagan. He spat as his lips were splattered with blood. "You, Demon Boy!"

Kidnagan looked around and saw all his friends trembling in fear. Staring at his blood-splattered palms, Kidnagan instantly realized he had become the most sadistic of killers.

Kidnagan shouted while trying to attack Rooben using a grip. With the power of Esper still enveloping his hands, Kidnagan hoped to kill Rooben so he could escape.

Despite his small stature, Kidnagan attacked with great agility as if he had been trained. He pulled out various unique moves even though Rooben could dodge them.

Rooben clucked in annoyance. "Get rid of your demon hand, or I'll kill you!"

Rooben was a 3rd level mage. Of course with his combat experience, he could easily dodge Kidnagan's attacks.

Although Kidnagan had just unlocked his esper power, Rooben didn't necessarily underestimate. Rooben could feel Kidnagan's 'Soulbeat' was so different from other esper. Kidnagan's 'Soulbeat' could fluctuate and sometimes felt like it belonged to a 3rd level esper, which meant, Rooben was less powerful than Kidnagan.

Unexpectedly, Kidnagan felt cramps all over his body as his body had reached its limit. He whimpered in pain despite still trying to attack Rooben.

Not wasting a chance, Rooben instantly aimed a fist at Kidnagan's abdomen until Kidnagan half lost consciousness.

Rooben realized that Kidnagan was now weakened and no longer emitted strange vibrations that could kill ordinary humans. He also beat Kidnagan so ferociously. He threw punches and kicks until Kidnagan screamed in pain. At his peak, he slammed Kidnagan into a table until it shattered.

"You... I knew you were the son of a despicable witch! Now... it's time to join the little girl you murdered!"

Rooben strangled Kidnagan with great force. However, his hand seemed to be stung by something until his magic power simply disappeared.

'What happened?' Rooben winced in pain as the joints of his fingers ached.

Realizing that killing Kidnagan would likely lead to bad events, in the end, Rooben led Kidnagan to sneak out.

'I'd rather sell this Demon Boy than have something bad happen to me. How could a boy who just became an esper be able to dim the power of a 3rd level Mage like me? I don't know the origin of the tall man. I'm sure this boy has a different background from the nobility.'

Later that night, Rooben was already at the black market to sell Kidnagan as a slave.

Kidnagan, who seemed to have no remorse after killing a child, attracted the attention of three amateur bandits.

The bandit group, led by a mage named Saber, was happy to buy Kidnagan. Saber was very excited when he heard what Kidnagan had done. Regardless of the story, he seemed to sympathize with Kidnagan's abandonment.

"Kidnagan, your parents may not be dead yet. Prepare yourself before the day of the meeting... If you are truly banished, prepare your hands to kill them both!"

Saber and his two companions laughed out loud as Kidnagan nodded his head as if he did not have the slightest intention of rebelling. The three stout men around 30-40 years old were very satisfied with Kidnagan's attitude.

"Kid, if someone wants to kill you because of your differences, I will protect you." Saber smiled.

Then, Saber brought Kidnagan to the Artshimmeri Kingdom because Kidnagan's physical characteristics would not be well received in the Land Of Lenka Kingdom.
