“What?!” The driver exclaimed “What do you mean the transfer was successful?! No way that’s real! You know what? Let me get a good look at that?”
The driver swiftly grabbed Alexander’s phone from his hand and peered at the message.“Your transfer of three hundred and seventy thousand dollars was successful?” He read, looking and sounding extremely shocked. After staring at the evidence for some seconds and having no way to refute it, the driver became angry. He didn’t want to believe what was in front of his eyes.“No! This can’t be real! This punk must have faked this and I can prove it! This is definitely not the real bank app and this message is fake, so all I have to do is go off of this page and—huh?” The driver said, swiping up on Alexander’s phone screen and going to the minimized page where all the apps that had been opened were lined up.He saw the icon, hovering above the top left of the page he had just minimized and, indeed, it was the Martel Green Bank app that was open.“No! I won’t believe this! I can’t! How did a punk like this get three hundred and seventy thousand dollars to spend on a—?“ the driver asked himself, but suddenly, at the top of Alexander’s phone screen, a message notification appeared. The driver quickly flicked his eyes to the message and saw that the sender was Martel Green Bank. Looking even closer, he saw that the message was a debit alert and Alexander’s new bank balance. He quickly went through the message, seeing the amount that was deducted from Alexander’s bank account, and it was indeed three hundred and seventy thousand dollars and some extra as a transaction fee.His eyes fidgeted. That was more than enough evidence he needed to know that Alexander did actually do the transfer because a fake transfer wouldn’t have come with a debit notification from the bank.Enthralled by what he was reading, the driver continued, seeing the description of who received the money, and it was Gustav’s Emporium, but then, something else suddenly caught his eyes. The driver’s attention was stolen by the bottom of the message which showed what Alexander’s new bank balance was and, without thinking, he started to read it.The first thing he noticed was seeing two commas on the figure and the beginning numbers being 27… but before he could see the entire number, the notification vanished. He wasn’t fast enough to finish reading the message within the short window that notifications usually appear at the top of the phone’s screen, and so he was confused. The driver couldn’t believe that he had actually seen more than two million dollars in the account balance portion of the message.Wanting to confirm, the driver attempted to go to Alexander’s messages. However, before he could tap the app on the home screen, the rightful owner of the phone, who was angry at the audacity of the man to not only swipe his phone from him but also wanting to go through his messages, swiped the phone back.“What the—?” The driver said, surprised by how fast Alexander took back his phone. He looked at the young secret multimillionaire and saw that Alexander was glaring at him, angrily.Ever since possessing the strength of the two hospital security, Bob and Josh, Alexander’s body was slowly changing to contain it.His muscles had gradually gotten bigger. His height was also increasing centimeter after centimeter and his face was slowly becoming more chiseled and manly. So, when the driver looked at the angry face Alexander was making, it scared the living hell out of him.“Don’t you ever dare try to take what belongs to me ever again. Do it again, and I swear that I’ll make you regret ever meeting me!” Alexander threatened, and the driver went silent. The man gulped. He didn’t know someone so much younger than himself could intimidate him the way Alexander just did.Just then, Laura, who had excused herself momentarily to call the bank and ask if they had received three hundred and seventy thousand dollars, came back with a smile on her face.“I just confirmed with our bank, and I’m glad to say that the money was transferred successfully. On behalf of Gustav Emporium and Mr. Gustav himself, please accept my appreciation, sir” Laura said, bowing her head in respect, and unintentionally, her calm voice was able to make Alexander calm down too.Alexander looked at her with a charming smile and said “It’s no problem. Please, help me pack this up so I can take my leave”“As you wish, sir, but before I do that, I just wanted to know if you’d like to get a wristwatch as well? Something you can wear with this suit that’ll compliment it perfectly. I mean, you can’t wear just any watch with an outfit this special,” Laura said.Alexander furrowed his eyebrows.“A wristwatch?”Laura nodded and said “That’s right, sir. You said you wanted to look like you fit in with the high-class. Well, they all wear wristwatches, especially when going to someone like a casino”Alexander placed his hand on his chin, reflecting on the suggestion Laura had just given and also remembering always seeing Mr. Dove wearing a nice wristwatch whenever he goes out.“You’re right. I do need a watch”, Alexander said, then dropped his hand from his chin.“Do you have any place in mind where I can get one?” He asked, and Laura smiled from ear to ear.“Of course I do, sir, or else I wouldn’t have brought up the idea. Well, Mr. Gustav has a particular company he works with when requesting diamonds for certain outfits he makes, and it so happens that that same company has a branch in this city”, Laura said, and Alexander, who was happy to hear that, smiled.“If you’re willing to go there, I can give you the address right now. I promise that it’s not that far”, Laura said, and Alexander nodded.Without wasting time, she told him the name and the location of the jewelry shop.“Thank you” Alexander said.“No, thank you, sir. I’m sure that Mr. Gustav would be happy to hear that the outfit he made has been bought by someone worth. Now, if you’d excuse me, I’ll start packing what you’ve purchased”She was about to turn around and start arranging everything to pack and give to Alexander, but then, the young multimillionaire who was curious and had a very important question interrupted her.“Excuse me, but I just want to know. Why didn’t you guys show this suit to any of the other customers you’ve had before me? From what you said earlier, it sounds like you’ve had it locked up for a while, and I’m sure you’ve had customers who more than likely had the money to pay for it. I mean, I can think of a few people off the top of my head that can pay the full price without a sweat, but why me? Why now?” Alexander asked.Laura looked at Alexander from head to toe, then she said “Honestly, I only decided to allow you to be the first person to see this special outfit since we locked it in this wardrobe because of how you looked.”

“So, do you think you can remember what happened—what exactly caused you to fall into a coma?” Miss Anderson asked gently, her voice laced with curiosity and concern.Sebastian groaned quietly and grimaced, the effort of remembering seeming almost physically painful.“I assumed by now you would’ve reviewed the footage from Stars Garden Incorporated,” he replied with mild surprise, “to piece together what happened that day.”Miss Anderson nodded solemnly. “We did. I went there myself. Retrieved all the security footage they had. I sat down and watched it frame by frame to uncover the truth behind your collapse. But… there was a problem.”Sebastian raised his eyebrows slowly. “A problem? What kind of problem?”“There were gaps in the footage,” she said, her voice growing tighter.“Gaps? Missing footage?” Sebastian nearly jolted upright, his surprise overriding his fatigue for a brief moment.“Apparently, Stars Garden Incorporated has had terrible security protocols for some time now—or
Before We Begin
A few seconds later, the last of the family members had reluctantly exited the room, leaving behind the quiet stillness that comes with privacy. The grand door shut gently, creating a momentary hush as Alexander, Miss Anderson, and Sebastian Foster were finally alone—just as Miss Anderson had requested.Sebastian shifted slightly in his bed and cast his gaze toward Alexander, who stood a short distance away. From the patriarch’s perspective, Alexander seemed like the odd one out, a stranger in what was undeniably a deeply personal family moment. His brow furrowed, and he let out a groan of dissatisfaction.“I appreciate everything you did to save my life, young man,” Sebastian said, his voice firm but not unkind. “But if I recall correctly, I asked everyone to leave so I could speak with Anderson in private. That request included you.”Alexander’s expression stiffened slightly. He cast a quick, uneasy glance toward Miss Anderson, silently seeking her help to explain the situation.Mis

Alexander, Miss Anderson, and Nurse Rebecca stood in solemn silence before the large bed, directly facing Sebastian Foster and the gathered members of the Foster family who stood or sat by his side. The atmosphere in the room was charged with tension, relief, and anticipation—each person processing the patriarch's recovery in their own way.Sebastian’s weary eyes scanned the faces before him. When they landed on Miss Anderson, his expression softened with a trace of sorrow and gratitude.“I was told I’m only alive because you donated a significant amount of your blood for my treatment,” he said quietly, his voice weak but full of sincerity. “I’m extremely grateful to you, Anderson. I truly am.”Despite being too fatigued to move with any vigor, he tried to bow his head in acknowledgment, the effort itself speaking volumes about his appreciation.“It’s no problem, Dad,” Miss Anderson replied with a gentle, almost tearful smile. “After all, what’s family for, if not for this?”The word

“Huh?” Nurse Rebecca quickly stood upright from checking the IV needle in Miss Anderson’s arm and turned to face Alexander with a puzzled expression.“If she can’t move on her own because she’s too weak, then we can just put her in a wheelchair and roll her over to the patriarch’s room,” Alexander suggested, speaking with calm practicality. “That’s assuming there’s a wheelchair around here somewhere. But considering this building has been operating almost like a private hospital for one person over the past three years, I’m almost certain there has to be one nearby.”Miss Anderson’s lips curved into a playful smirk. She tilted her head slightly toward Nurse Rebecca and said with a knowing glint in her eyes, “There is a wheelchair somewhere around here, isn’t there?”She wasn’t just guessing—she knew. She had visited the estate multiple times over the past three years and was confident that she had seen a wheelchair at least once before during her rounds.“Yes,” Nurse Rebecca admitted,

"Master Sebastian has woken up and has specifically requested to see you, Miss Anderson, as well as Sir Alexander, the man who cured him of his life-threatening illness," Sonia announced with a calm but proud tone. Her words seemed to echo through the room like a divine proclamation.Miss Anderson’s eyes widened in sheer disbelief and emotional shock."What... what did you just say?" she asked, her voice trembling with excitement and uncertainty. The hope surging through her veins made her wonder if she had actually heard the words correctly or if her mind had conjured up a hallucination driven by desperation and longing.“I said that the patriarch is awake,” Sonia repeated patiently, her warm voice carrying a hint of relief, “and he would very much like to see the two of you—both you, Miss Anderson, and Sir Alexander. Though he remains somewhat fatigued and is currently resting, he made it quite clear that your presence is deeply important to him. So, if you could find it within your

Because Sarah had passed away and the financial support she once relied on had come to an abrupt end, Sebastian Foster took it upon himself to secure a future for the two daughters she left behind. He created a trust fund in their names, using his immense wealth to ensure that they would be provided for—without ever knowing the true source of the money. To preserve the illusion and protect the fragile truth, he had the bank—which he discreetly owned—pretend that it was Sarah who had established the trust before her death. The fund was sizable—large enough to sustain both Miss Anderson and her younger sister from adolescence into adulthood. It covered their educational expenses, living costs, and any additional support they might need. It was designed to give them access to the finest schools, tutors, and opportunities that money could buy. As a result, the sisters enrolled in the most prestigious high school in the city. When Miss Anderson graduated with top honors, she chose to atten
