The beast flapped its wings furiously to regain control of its spiraling body as it plummeted downward. Whoooooshhhh! I shot forward, matching its decent trajectory. Both of us collided violently in midair, grippling like titans in the clouds. Skrrrrr!!! Its dreadful claws scratched and scratched at my armor. I reciprocated the gesture by landing a direct punch to its jaw. Then, I blasted another Incinerate shot at point blank range. "Incinerate!..." Boom! The impact separated the both of us, sending us flying in opposite directions. I flipped in the air s couple times before I recalibrated my balance and launched myself again. The fog wasn't still going anywhere, still swirling violently. Lightning flashing in the distance of the sea. It was still hard to see with my naked eyes but I still had my Spacial Awareness Skill active so I could literally do this while my eyes were closed, as long as the Calamity Creature was still within the effective range of the skill. My abili

The rain slammed down harder than before, slapping against my face as I tore through the sky on route to Sector C. The storm around me cracked faintly with thunder scattered all over at different distances and at different intervals. A large gush of wind blew past my ears as I broke the sound barrier, I narrowed my eyes, focusing on the shimmering lights that began to show face far ahead. There it was, Sector C. The outlines of the skyscrapers stood tall and unwavering in the distance, like a row of sleeping giants untouched by the chaotic rain. I lowered my altitude till I was slightly above the sea , letting the ocean breeze hit my soaked suit. My gaze scanned every shadow and every inch of the sky above me. Still, nothing. "Where the hell is it?" I muttered to myself. I quickly accessed a ton of news outlets and websites in search of anything concerning the appearance of an airborne Calamity Creature rampaging through the Sector C. But still, there were no Calamity Creature

I stared into the eyes of every survivor. Old men. Mothers cradling children. A young boy, no older than ten, gripping a shattered tablet with a blank screen, hugging it close to his chest for defense. Their eyes begged for safety—but safety was bleeding out fast."I have a plan..." I repeated myself. "You're leaving? We have to do something bout these people and also defeat the airborne Calamity Creature!" Lady Phoenix blared at me with an angry expression written all over her face. "I have a plan... " I repeated again. "But, you'll have to stay here with the survivors and monitor the ships integrity incase it looses its ability to stay afloat!" I called back. Lady Phoenix gritted her teeth and walked steadily closer to me before making eye contact. "Tch!... I don't take orders from you... Need I remind you your class?" I smirked cunningly, did she think she was going to intimidate me with that? "What? Ma'am, this is no time for hero politics... So I suggest you do as your told.

Step! Step! Step! Both our footsteps contrasted with eachother as we walked through the corridors of the cruiser. The corridors of the Whistling Derrick were a metallic labyrinth. It was void of bright lights, cold and splattered with blood and scorched debris. Water dripped steadily from busted pipes overhead, and ship's occasional groan reminded us that it was still barely afloat. Lady Phoenix and I moved through it like golden and black phantoms, pausing at every motionless body. Each time we stopped checked the body, we were met with burned hope to find out the person was dead beyond recovery. "Dead too," I muttered, scanning the latest body. She nodded grimly and moved on without saying a word. The air was still thick with the scent of smoke and burnt fuel. The deeper we went, the darker the rooms became. Until finished found it.A large reinforced steel door, dented but still very much intact.Lady Phoenix placed a firm hand on the door, "This... Might be it." I steppe

I knelt down on the scared metal surface of the deck, cradling Lady Phoenix gently in my arms. Rain still fell relentlessly causing steam to rise from both our bodies like mist rising from dying embers. She blinked once then twice, trying to prevent the rain water from entering her eyes. "You alright?" I asked, easing her as she slowly worked her way back to her feet. "Nrggghhhh!!!" She let steady grunts as she rose, her movements were shaky but she still powered through with determination. "I'm fine... Hell, I've been through worse," she muttered, brushing a strand of her wet brunette hair from her face. "Took a Calamity Creature solo in the dark... But damn, I wasn't expecting two... Abd the second one, was definitely at least A-Class worthy ""You did your best... You already weakened both of them, I just had to finish them off." I said wrly. Her head rise slowly to face. She began scanning me with her sharp and scrutinizing eyes. "Who... Who are you by the way?" She asked.

The sharp, digital chime of my system alert cut through the chaos like a knife. Tti-ring.[Three remaining.]The words flashed across my HUD, stark and urgent. My jaw clenched, teeth grinding together as I fought to steady my breathing. The storm raged around me, a tempest of wind and rain, lightning splitting the heavens with jagged streaks of white-hot fury. The air smelled of ozone and burning metal, the aftermath of countless explosions still lingering in the atmosphere. I couldn’t slow down. I wouldn’t.Beneath me, the ocean churned violently, waves crashing against the hull of the Whistling Derrick, the massive cruiser now barely holding together under the relentless assault. The ship was a graveyard of shattered steel and smoldering wreckage, its crew fighting for their lives belowdecks. And above it all—me—streaking through the sky like a comet, the last line of defense between annihilation and survival. The rain came down in sheets, stinging against my exposed skin wh
