Nobody regarded him, he was dragged like a ragdoll and thrown out the gate like a mad man.

Dexter's will to live came crumbling down the ground. All his life he had been used, humiliated, insulted, and defrauded. Perhaps if he dies, it will all come to an end.

Meanwhile, Mr. Bill stormed into the ward and Vivian immediately lowered her head, “Sir… you should be resting.”

“Where is the young man who donated his blood for me?!” Mr. Bill demanded immediately, his tone firm.

“Uh…” Vivian swallowed hard, sensing the old man must have heard of her scheme.

“Please forgive me, sir… I'll refund it all to him if you want… I haven't touched it yet.” She fell to her knees in tears.

She knew how powerful the Wilson family is, and one would have a death wish lying and going against them.

“What are you talking about? Where is my grandson!” Bill barked, his aura dark.

Dexter, who was about to take a cab to the biggest ocean in Greenville was stopped by several bodyguards and security officers.

He was brought to the old man's ward, and when their gaze met, Dexter was the first to mutter, “Grandfather?”

“Grandson!” Bill's eyes were teary as he tried to hug him but Dexter moved back, not willing to have a hug.

“You monster, I hope you're happy you've ruined my life!” Dexter shouted, and Bill gestured for his bodyguards to leave immediately.

“You have to forgive me, grandson. All I did, I did for your own good!” Bill says apologetically.

“My good? Did you say ‘my good? I hope you're happy now, because I lost my mother in the process!” Dexter barked, his eyes bloodshot red.

“I'm sorry.” Bill uttered apologetically.

Dexter frowned. “Sorry? Why? You knew? Don't tell me your enemies killed her…”

“I don't know, Okay… I don't know. Just… just come back home son… the family misses you. We had been in search of you years after you left. You can finally claim the wealth that was set aside for you.”

Bill couldn't tell him that his life was in danger and had to take him out of the family house. Far away from the north. Even if his life will be in danger right now that he has been found as the grandson of the Wilson family, he was at least of age and will be able to defend himself now.

The threat on Dexter’s life was so dangerous, he wouldn’t forgive himself if they got to take his life. He pleaded with Elena to take him far and take care of him when he was just 17. A minor’s strength could never be compared to those demons.

After a brief silence, Dexter asked. “How did you find me?”

“Our blood matched.” He explained then Dexter understood it was the blood he donated.

“You’re the richest man alive, with over 1 trillion and more in net worth. Come home son…The Empire has been waiting for you to claim it since you were a boy.” He explained calmly, causing Dexter's harsh demeanor to change.

Later that night, Dexter dressed in a black tailored suit as he walked into the Smiths residence.

“Look who we have here… if it's not Ashanti's beloved husband.” Vector scoffed the moment his eyes fell on Dexter.

“Haha! I heard he's a poor loser. Look at his shoes!”

“Is he even dressed for the occasion? His suit looks nothing like Vector's suit!”

“Our dear Ashanti is married to a pauper! Hahaha! She's going to be the city's laughing stock!”

Beatrice, Ashanti's mother lowered her head in shame as she couldn't stand the embarrassment.

“As if taking my daughter's virginity wasn't enough. Have you no shame, coming here!” She gritted her teeth, keeping her voice low. “This marriage is only for the meantime. You're getting a divorce in a few weeks! Get that into your head!” She hissed.

“Mum, stop it.” Ashanti got in between them.

“Stop? Don't tell me you're already in love with this poor loser! Are you this cheap?” Beatrice could almost not believe her eyes.

“He's still my husband and he should be treated like any other guest.” Ashanti uttered.

“Haha! Don't be surprised aunty. Ashanti has always been like this.” Vector laughed.

Dexter was speechless for a second. He already isn't welcomed here. Ah, what could he have expected from the rich? They hated poor people. The difference between Ashanti and him, is that she was a billionaire’s granddaughter and him? Oh that's right, a trillion in several currencies.

He never wanted to be part of any of this as well, but he was determined to take full responsibility for his actions.

Of all people, his wife seemed to be the kindest, defending him and even calling him her husband.

“Alright, alright, let's have dinner.” Mr. Fred, the patriarch of the Smiths family announced.

As they had their meal, Mr. Fred introduced Dexter as the newest member of the family, and most family members couldn't help but laugh inwardly.

Of course they didn't dare laugh out loud in front of the old man.

Dexter was asked a few questions, and when he didn't give a positive answer, he was mocked.

“So you mean, you have no degrees?” Sara, one of Ashanti's cousins asked.

“Masters? No, but a university degree? I do.” Dexter said proudly, but their response made him feel like that was the barest minimum.

“Who employed you with that garbage?”

“First global bank. That's where I work.” Dexter explained, leaving them in shock.

First Global bank is one of the most prominent banks in the country, how is a poor person like this be employed there? Perhaps he was just lucky.

“I heard Wilson Group just got a new president. And you know what that means for Smith corporate!” Mr. Fred announced with a smile.

For the longest time, it has been his dream to partner with that company, but their representative never passed the first stage. And now, there was another chance for them to strike.

Dexter smiled slightly, as he knew who the new president was.

“The profit is over 100 million euros. We can't afford to lose this project. I don't care which other company stands a chance, I need one of you to give it a shot.”

“Grandpa, I'll go!”

“You know my business skills are the best, I'll bring that contract home.” Vector added.

“Trust me, I can give it a shot. Just pick me, grandpa.”

“Paxtom, my friend works in Wilson Group, I could stand a chance, if I go.” Ashanti said along with the rest of the family members. This could be a chance to redeem herself from the embarrassment she has caused her grandfather.

Mr. Fred carefully looked round, and then he paused at Vector's side of the table, “Okay, Vector. You will represent Smith cop. Remember, give it your best shot.”

“You heard that mom?” Vector giggled, raising a toast with so much joy. While Ashanti's hopeful demeanor changed.

Even if everyone volunteered, her grandfather was definitely going to pick his favourite grandchild.

“Are you okay?” Dexter asked Ashanti.

“I don't know. Excuse me.” She said and walked away, leaving Dexter feeling sad for her. It seemed like she really wanted that project more than Vector.

The next day was Monday, and Dexter went to work as usual. About half an hour later, he found a pink purse the moment he walked out of the restroom. Picking it up, he realized it was a lady's purse and the owner might have dropped it.

For a second, he thought it might belong to Clara since she had a similar purse and her favourite colour was pink. Plus, he saw her walking into the restroom minutes ago.

“Oh, there it is! You fucker, are you trying to steal from me?!” Sarah, the daughter of the CEO’s friend yelled out loud, causing ladies around to run to her.

“Is this yours?” Dexter asked, his face flushing with embarrassment.

“Of course it's mine! Give it back, you thief!” She walked up to him, yanking it from her, “Oh, I can't believe this robber is working in our bank! If he can try to steal my money, then he can try to steal from customers!” She shouted, causing a little commotion as everyone started whispering.

“Uh, I saw it on the floor. I thought it belonged to…”

“Shut up, you poor loser!” She barks at his face, “We all know you've been struggling to feed and only keep yourself alive with bananas from the tree next Street!”

Hahaha! Everyone erupted with laughter.

“He could pass for a monkey! Haha!”

Dexter sighed. I mean… she wasn't wrong. All his money went to his mum's bill, Fibonacci and taking care of Clara that he only survived on bananas. But at least things were a lot different now.

“Call the cops, it's high then he gets fired! Isn't he on probation? Who knows, he could have stolen all your cash before you even got to him.” Amber, one of the girls who clearly hates Dexter, pointed out.
