Hunter hurriedly got to the hotel; he’s been using a cab, since the moment he decided to pursue Olivia, without his family’s help, neither name nor wealth, he even considering of using Olivia’s last name. When he reached the hotel entrance, an admin approached him, just looking at him, a typical scenario; Hunter can’t smile, due to the earlier incident, and he doesn’t have to pretend low, when Olivia’s wasn’t around, “I’m here under the reservation of Hunter Dimitri,” he used his mother’s maiden name.
He doubtfully looked at Hunter and scanned me again; oh right, “You must be?” that wasn’t a question.
Hunter handed him his ID, “I’m Hunter Dimitri; my fiancé is waiting for me. Could you please tell me where our table is?” he heard no reply; the admin just assisted him to the reserved table.
There, he saw his lovely fiancé looking at her phone; annoyance was surprisingly visible on her beautiful face, and she had a wine glass in her left hand, Hunter saw two empty champagne bottles on the left side.
“Oli,” Hunter greeted her as he sat at their reserved table, “Why didn’t you call me?” He asked, he want to hear her reason, for my raging feeling stop, can’t lose her, not now.
“I’m waiting here for six fucking hours, Hunter; I texted you this location; haven’t you checking your emails? They sent a confirmation, my god, Hunter!” Hunter had checked his emails from time to time, and he saw nothing.
“I’m sorry,” He said, “Do you want to order now?” He tried to change the mood; she must be famished with waiting.
“No, I’ll order for us,” she called the waiter and mentioned some dish Hunter was well aware of, your choice of food are worst, he want to add up, since this restaurant were just famous because of their wines, and not their dishes.
“Do you know have a date for our wedding? I mean, were you giving it a thought,” Hunter opened a topic; he is careful with his words.
She put down her wine glass and looked at him, “About that, can you tell grandpa to postpone the wedding?”
Hunter’s forehead creased, “Why? Do we have a problem?” goddamn it. He thought.
“No, I mean, is it not too fast for you? We barely knew each other; then, we got married. What if we have things we hate, then that will happen to us? That will be a ground for divorce. That’s a bad image,”
“Oli,” Hunter intertwined his hands and rested his arm on the table, “We have been engaged for two years; we’ve been together since you were a starting employee; what kind of reason is that? Are you embarrassed with me?”
Her brow shoots up, “You’re asking me that? You don’t even have your own car, to pick me up, or simply go here using your own vehicle, you use my money to come here, or wherever you like, you eat on the food I worked my ass off, you basically leach off to me, how can I live if you’re with me,”
He leaned back to the chair and looked at her, he felt a pang of pain, hearing those words coming for Olivia’s mouth; he was aware that Olivia didn’t want this. She is the daughter of the company’s president; she is a natural beauty, charming, charismatic, and witty; Olivia was out of his league; he is below is league, there are tons of women, lined up for him, but he chose to stay incognito for Olivia.
He wants to prove to his father that he can do better without his name, and can live without all the fancy clothes, and material things. This is not the Olivia he loved, way back years ago, he misses those times, that their relationship was filled with love, until tonight, where he realized, it was measured with monetary contribution.
Hunter’s father once saved Olivia’s grandfather on the verge of death, and in return, he arranged marriage his granddaughter to Hunter; Olivia’s father didn’t have any comment; Only Master Pritt knew who the true Hunter was.
So, basically. Olivia didn’t grow feelings on her own; it was forced; she was forced to do so. However, Hunter did everything he can to prove his love to Olivia, he stays at home, to take care of her, cooks her food every day, take cares of her when she’s sick.
“I think you’re drunk, let’s just celebrate on the other time,” Hunter hold his tongue, trying to understand his drunk fiancé, he was holding a black box, he planned to tell her a part of him, even just a glimpse, he was tired of lying to her.
“Drunk? Huh, yeah, do you know why I got drunk? Because it’s our anniversary, it hits me, that it’s been two years, since I had a man who feed and live out of my well-earned money, sometimes, I have to go to work because of you, because I’m feeding two mouths, you don’t have anything to make me proud, you know what my friends said earlier? I should get a man who can provide for me, who can pamper me with luxurious things, and someone I can be proud if, and you’re neither of that,”
Her words keep stabbing Hunter’s heart, the man is utterly hurt, he left everything he have and start a new life with her, even there are uncertainty.
“You disgust me, Hunter, I hope your father didn’t the one who saved my grandpa,”
Their order arrived, they ate in silence; the classical music in the background saved Hunter from lashing out his anger. “Via?” they both stopped eating and turned their gaze to the man in front of them. Wearing a three-piece black suit, holding a suitcase, with a smile plastered on his lips, while looking at his fiancé, “What a coincidence, it’s been a while! How are you?”
Olivia stood up, shocked, and hugged the man, “Oh my god, William, how are you? It’s been what, three? Four years? OMG! You look dashing with that suit, by the way,” Olivia enthusiastically said.
“Yeah, it’s been a while; I’m doing good; I’m on my way to running my second empire; how about you? What are you doing right now?”
They were talking like Hunter was not there; he felt like an outcast; they were talking about things he can’t recall Olivia have ever said to him.
“Who must be your company?” the guy looked at Hunter, “Oh, Via, you haven’t changed; you’re still the softhearted Via we all knew,” Hunter can see so much adoration in his eyes while looking at Olivia.
“I uh,” that, that is the only thing Olivia can say while looking at Hunter; she’s been weighing if she should introduce who he is to this man in front of her.
“Anyway, I already saw you earlier, and I planned to make this as an excuse to talk to you, but I didn’t knew you were feeding your driver, I should have ordered more, so he can eat a lot of new foods,” Arrogance was undeniably visible on the man’s voice, “By the way, I paid your bill, it’s my treat tonight, consider this as my reunion gift,” William looked at Hunter, “Everything must be new to you, since this was the first time you’re eating here? Eat and enjoy my treat,” William smirked, and look at Olivia.
Olivia seemed ecstatic with William’s gesture, “My god, Will, that’s too kind of you, you didn’t have to do that,”
William chuckled, “I need to go, Via. I’ll hit on your email; let’s catch up, okay? I’ll see you around,”
“Take care, Will, I’ll see you around,” Hunter heard, Olivia’s fascinated voice. With such humiliation, Hunter want to stand up and buy the whole restaurant, but he manage to contain his rage.
“That, Hunter. That is what I’m talking about,” Olivia’s cocky voice echo to Hunter’s head.
I can fucking buy this fucking restaurant, I can buy you anything you will ever think and dreamed of, Hunter thought, but in the end, he sigh.

Epilogue
The early autumn air was crisp and fresh, with the leaves of the trees around the village beginning to show the first signs of turning golden. The days were getting shorter, and the nights cool and still. Lorelei and Hunter had settled into a rhythm, their days filled with work on the community projects, quiet evenings together, and the deep connection that had only grown stronger since their wedding. The village was thriving under Lorelei’s leadership, and Hunter was proud of everything they had accomplished together, but there was something else stirring within her that neither of them had expected—something they didn’t fully understand yet.It began one quiet evening, a few weeks after their wedding, when Lorelei had been feeling unusually tired. She had chalked it up to the long hours spent organizing projects, coordinating with builders for the school, and overseeing the development of the medical clinic. She’d been working relentlessly, pouring every ounce of her energy into the

The morning of the wedding arrived, bathed in golden light, as if the universe itself was eager to celebrate the union of two souls destined to build a future together. The village, though small, was bustling with excitement.Every corner was adorned with vibrant flowers, and colorful ribbons hung from the trees, swaying gently in the early breeze. A long wooden arch, draped in ivy and blooms, stood proudly at the edge of the riverbank near Lorelei’s grandmother’s house, the place where so much of their love had blossomed. Today, the village would witness the beginning of a new chapter for two of its own—the woman who had long been the heart of the community and the man who had, against all odds, found his place among them. The Brotherhood had arrived earlier in the week, their presence a stark reminder of Hunter’s past, but it was a past he had long made peace with. Casper, Ezekiel, Alejandro, and Alamid were all in attendance, the familiar faces of his old comrades offering Hunter a

The village had become a sanctuary, a place where peace and purpose intertwined. The rolling hills that surrounded the small community seemed to cradle it in their embrace, a world away from the complexities of Hunter’s former life.It was here that he had found the stability he had long craved, and in Lorelei, he had found a partner whose heart matched the warmth of the village itself. Together, they had started something new—a future they both wanted to build from the ground up.Lorelei, ever the visionary, had begun taking charge of organizing community projects. The first priority was to address the village’s need for more accessible education and healthcare. The old schoolhouse was small and outdated, and the nearest clinic was miles away, an inconvenient distance for many of the elderly and young children. Lorelei, with her innate sense of purpose, immediately set her sights on transforming these challenges into opportunities for the village to thrive.Hunter supported her whole

The sun was setting over the village, casting a soft golden light that reflected off the surface of the river. The water flowed gently, a calming rhythm that seemed to match the peace Hunter had found in the small town. It was a stark contrast to the chaos and adrenaline of his previous life. Here, he was simply Hunter. Not the former soldier, not the Brotherhood leader—just a man who had found solace in the quiet beauty of this place, and in the woman standing beside him.Lorelei was standing by the riverbank, her silhouette outlined by the fading light. The breeze played with her hair, sending strands of it dancing around her face. She had always been beautiful to him, but it was in moments like this, in the stillness of the world around them, that he found her more breathtaking than ever. Her strength, her quiet determination, her kindness—they were all there, in the way she moved, in the way she looked at him.Hunter took a deep breath, feeling a rush of emotion swell in his chest

The morning sun gleamed through the large windows of Alamid’s sleek, modern office building. He stood in front of a crowd, a mix of reporters, philanthropists, and high-ranking officials, all gathered to witness what would be another milestone in his rapidly growing empire. His success as a businessman had always been a topic of admiration, but his transformation into a philanthropist was what truly set him apart. As the media cameras flashed, Alamid spoke with the same smooth confidence that had propelled him to the top of the corporate world, but his words today were focused on something more meaningful.“I am deeply honored to announce that, through the generosity of my company and its partners, we are launching a new initiative to support the recovery of survivors of human trafficking. This program will provide housing, education, and therapy for those affected, helping them rebuild their lives with the dignity and opportunity they deserve.”The room filled with applause, and Alam

Casper and Alamid stood in front of a high-rise building that loomed over the city, the glass windows reflecting the waning sunlight. It was a symbol of power, wealth, and corruption—a fitting location for the confrontation they were about to have. The corrupt politician, Eduardo Vasquez, had long been suspected of ties to international trafficking rings, but evidence had been scarce, and his influence was immense.Alamid adjusted his cufflinks, his eyes sharp as they scanned the surroundings. “This is it,” he muttered, more to himself than to Casper.“Yeah,” Casper replied, cracking his knuckles. “And I’ve waited a long time for this.”The two of them had gathered intelligence over the past few weeks, digging through Vasquez’s finances, connections, and business dealings. They knew they were walking into a storm. But they had no choice—Vasquez’s influence had kept the trafficking rings running smoothly, unchallenged, for too long. The time to strike was now. They walked into the buil
