Hunter was staring blankly ahead, holding his temper, and continued eating, “I am no one, I think that’s what you wanted to say, right?” Olivia looked at Hunter, Shock strike Olivia’s eyes, this was the first time Hunter spoke with threatening voice, “I’m just a no one, who leech off to your well-earn-money,” Olivia immediately recover from being shocked, she grabbed her wine glass and poured it straight to Hunter’s face.

“How dare you threaten me? Huh, do you have the balls to put me on my place? I beg to disagree,” Olivia looked at the food in front of them, “Other man paid for this, instead of you? What a shame,”

Hunter’s eyes widen upon realizing what happen, his mind didn’t have the chance to control his body, he grip the wine bottle and threw it to wall behind Olivia. Olivia froze on her spot. Her face became pale, “I said that’s enough, didn’t I?” he angrily said, however, upon seeing Olivia’s expression, Hunter gritted his teeth, “I’m sorry,”

“You jerk! Fuck you! I’m breaking up! There will be no wedding between us, fuckard!” with that, Olivia stands up, stop in front of him, and slap him, before exiting the restaurant. Hunter sighed, he put the napkin on the table before standing up, that’s when he realized that most eyes, were on their spot.

Hunter didn’t bother to meet their gaze, and just exited the establishment, he heard the aggressive tire scritch of Olivia’s car. He took the rectangular box on jacket’s pocket, and open it, a stunning full diamond ring, Hunter laugh at himself, a single drop of tear escape from his eye, “Stupid me, why did I even spent a couple of millions for this?”

The following day, Hunter cooked breakfast, like the usual, fried rice, eggs, bacon, ham, and coffee with no milk; she’s maintaining her figure; he was preparing the plate when he heard her footsteps when Hunter saw her, she was already on her working clothes.

“Come and eat before you go,” He said; she just nodded and put down her white handbag, which she got at their engagement party from her dad, “Just leave that there; I’m off,” He said while removing my apron.

“Where are you going?” she asked, “Wasting money again?”

Hunter laced up his boots, “No, your dad’s company, take care at work,” He said, he didn’t bother to reply on her snide remark.

“I still want the wedding off, Hunter. I can’t stand you anymore, let’s just end this, it’s not beneficial for us,” Olivia nonchalantly said, while eating her toast, “Tell my grandfather that you don’t want this,”

Hunter sigh, “You’re just mad from yesterday, we will talk about that when you’re feeling calm, I’ll be back before sunset,” he said, before storming out of the house.

The guard and some employees he recognized him, did greet Hunter; he went straight to Mr. Johnson’s office, Hunter saw him, with a pile of paper in front of him, while he was busy signing, “Mr. Johnson,” Hunter called his attention, and he immediately turns his gaze on Hunter.

He even rolled his eyes, “What the fuck? I told you, it’s dad, my god, Hunter, we’ve been doing this for two years now,”

Hunter chuckled and sat on the sofa; he took off the glass he was wearing and joined Hunter; Mr. Johnson poured some tea into both of their tea cups, “What’s the matter? Why did you call me here? Is there anything that I could help you with?”

“I told you to have business units, but you keep insisting you don’t need them,” Hunter can’t help but to chuckle, Mr. Johnson, wasn’t aware that Hunter graduated from a prestigious school, of course. He’s been in the business industry for how many years, he knew how to strike and defend, but, he wanted to be as low profile as possible,

“What might be the problem?” Hunter heard him sigh before drinking his tea; he was looking at Mr. Johnson, waiting for his following words.

“The company is near bankruptcy,” he tried not to laugh with that, Hunter knew it was coming, “I’ve been trying to save it since last year, but the investors keep on pulling their shares; I did all the possible ways to save, but nothing is coming right,”

“What will happen now?” Hunter asked, trying to assess if Mr. Johnson did everything,

“This company will put into bidding; I’ll sell it as high as possible; that’s the only thing I could think as of the moment,”

“But, don’t you have emergency funds? Savings?” Hunter felt weird, asking these questions, since, he hasn’t been able to hold any business papers for years.

Mr. Johnson chuckled, “Yes, we do have, but I don’t think it will be enough to save this company; we will just waste this money,”

“But you said this company is the first company you have ever put. Will you let this gone, just like that?”

“Come on, young man, it’s not an easy thing to do, but I still have a daughter; I can put up another business again; it’s not the end of the world, just chill out,” Hunter remembered about the wedding, well, he knew, that Olivia and Mr. Johnson believed that Hunter has nothing to offer, “Stop thinking, Hunter. Your marriage with Via won’t be affected; what do you think of me?” His forehead crease, of course, why should it be? He thought.

“Anyway, here,” he handed Hunter a brochure, “Go there after your wedding, study, man,” Hunter shot his brows up, Valencia Institute, an institution built for aspiring businessman and business students, it was build twelve years ago, but it was widely known for it offers a prestigious amount of ideas, and learnings.

After catching up, Hunter went to the cemetery near their old house, where his mother was buried; He bought a piece of flower on his way to the cemetery.

“Mom, I’m fuck up right now,” Hunter started his sentiments; his mother was long gone; it was seven years ago, when her mother was on her way to do a volunteering work on an isolated village, the police said it was an accident death.

They had once had a perfect family, his strict dad, his loving mom, his eldest sister, and his younger brother, however, when his mom died, everything became chaotic, and he left home, two years ago, and decided to live a life with Olivia, his dad remind him that not all people were as good as he think they are.

He wants to prove his father, that he make right decision, however, Olivia was the first person he put his full trust, and this is how she returns the favor. Hunter bid goodbye to his mother, just before he received a call from Master Pritt, Olivia’s grandfather, asking about his presence in the mansion.

When Hunter arrived, the server assisted him to Mr. Pritt’s office, where he saw them sitting— Olivia, Mr. Johnson—Olivia’s father.

“Hunter, come, have a seat,” Hunter nodded and sat beside Olivia. who was also confused about the purpose of this meeting.

“I know Hunter is aware of the current state of our company,” Master. Pritt spoke.

“Huh? What’s happening, dad?” Olivia turned to her dad, who was smiling and just motioning her to listen first.

“Sweetheart, our company is near bankruptcy; your dad has been trying to save it for a while now. However, it lost its stability, and investors kept on pulling out their shares,”

“What?! Why didn’t you tell me, dad!” Olivia hissed, “Hunter, why didn’t you tell me about this, huh? We’re living under the same roof, yet you kept this a secret?! How dare you?!”

“Enough with that, Olivia, don’t blame your fiancé for that; I just mentioned it to him earlier this morning,” Olivia didn’t talk back and just leaned back, still looking mad; She felt betrayed.

“Will the wedding be postponed?” instead, she asked.

Mr. Johnson looked at her, “No, your wedding and my company have nothing to do with each other, so that it won’t be affected,” he answered carefully.

“About the wedding—I can’t wait for you, Olivia; I will step in and decide the wedding date for the two of you,”

“Grandpa! Don’t do that! I have the right to decide! It’s my wedding!” she hissed and crossed her arms, “Hunter, do something about it; we talked about this, right?”

“Olivia Pritt, we have been waiting for you for the past two years; Hunter has been waiting for you—patiently and faithful,”

“Fine! Whatever, you’re always deciding for me, anyway. I didn’t have the voice in here,” her voice sounded so mad and frustrated, “When is the wedding? It’s better not this year,”

It’s February, Olivia. Hunter wanted to say, but he chose to keep his mouth shut, a part of heart wants to continued the wedding after what she did to him.

“Fifth of march—two weeks from now,”

“What?!”

The early autumn air was crisp and fresh, with the leaves of the trees around the village beginning to show the first signs of turning golden. The days were getting shorter, and the nights cool and still. Lorelei and Hunter had settled into a rhythm, their days filled with work on the community projects, quiet evenings together, and the deep connection that had only grown stronger since their wedding. The village was thriving under Lorelei’s leadership, and Hunter was proud of everything they had accomplished together, but there was something else stirring within her that neither of them had expected—something they didn’t fully understand yet.It began one quiet evening, a few weeks after their wedding, when Lorelei had been feeling unusually tired. She had chalked it up to the long hours spent organizing projects, coordinating with builders for the school, and overseeing the development of the medical clinic. She’d been working relentlessly, pouring every ounce of her energy into the

The morning of the wedding arrived, bathed in golden light, as if the universe itself was eager to celebrate the union of two souls destined to build a future together. The village, though small, was bustling with excitement.Every corner was adorned with vibrant flowers, and colorful ribbons hung from the trees, swaying gently in the early breeze. A long wooden arch, draped in ivy and blooms, stood proudly at the edge of the riverbank near Lorelei’s grandmother’s house, the place where so much of their love had blossomed. Today, the village would witness the beginning of a new chapter for two of its own—the woman who had long been the heart of the community and the man who had, against all odds, found his place among them. The Brotherhood had arrived earlier in the week, their presence a stark reminder of Hunter’s past, but it was a past he had long made peace with. Casper, Ezekiel, Alejandro, and Alamid were all in attendance, the familiar faces of his old comrades offering Hunter a

The village had become a sanctuary, a place where peace and purpose intertwined. The rolling hills that surrounded the small community seemed to cradle it in their embrace, a world away from the complexities of Hunter’s former life.It was here that he had found the stability he had long craved, and in Lorelei, he had found a partner whose heart matched the warmth of the village itself. Together, they had started something new—a future they both wanted to build from the ground up.Lorelei, ever the visionary, had begun taking charge of organizing community projects. The first priority was to address the village’s need for more accessible education and healthcare. The old schoolhouse was small and outdated, and the nearest clinic was miles away, an inconvenient distance for many of the elderly and young children. Lorelei, with her innate sense of purpose, immediately set her sights on transforming these challenges into opportunities for the village to thrive.Hunter supported her whole

The sun was setting over the village, casting a soft golden light that reflected off the surface of the river. The water flowed gently, a calming rhythm that seemed to match the peace Hunter had found in the small town. It was a stark contrast to the chaos and adrenaline of his previous life. Here, he was simply Hunter. Not the former soldier, not the Brotherhood leader—just a man who had found solace in the quiet beauty of this place, and in the woman standing beside him.Lorelei was standing by the riverbank, her silhouette outlined by the fading light. The breeze played with her hair, sending strands of it dancing around her face. She had always been beautiful to him, but it was in moments like this, in the stillness of the world around them, that he found her more breathtaking than ever. Her strength, her quiet determination, her kindness—they were all there, in the way she moved, in the way she looked at him.Hunter took a deep breath, feeling a rush of emotion swell in his chest

The morning sun gleamed through the large windows of Alamid’s sleek, modern office building. He stood in front of a crowd, a mix of reporters, philanthropists, and high-ranking officials, all gathered to witness what would be another milestone in his rapidly growing empire. His success as a businessman had always been a topic of admiration, but his transformation into a philanthropist was what truly set him apart. As the media cameras flashed, Alamid spoke with the same smooth confidence that had propelled him to the top of the corporate world, but his words today were focused on something more meaningful.“I am deeply honored to announce that, through the generosity of my company and its partners, we are launching a new initiative to support the recovery of survivors of human trafficking. This program will provide housing, education, and therapy for those affected, helping them rebuild their lives with the dignity and opportunity they deserve.”The room filled with applause, and Alam

Casper and Alamid stood in front of a high-rise building that loomed over the city, the glass windows reflecting the waning sunlight. It was a symbol of power, wealth, and corruption—a fitting location for the confrontation they were about to have. The corrupt politician, Eduardo Vasquez, had long been suspected of ties to international trafficking rings, but evidence had been scarce, and his influence was immense.Alamid adjusted his cufflinks, his eyes sharp as they scanned the surroundings. “This is it,” he muttered, more to himself than to Casper.“Yeah,” Casper replied, cracking his knuckles. “And I’ve waited a long time for this.”The two of them had gathered intelligence over the past few weeks, digging through Vasquez’s finances, connections, and business dealings. They knew they were walking into a storm. But they had no choice—Vasquez’s influence had kept the trafficking rings running smoothly, unchallenged, for too long. The time to strike was now. They walked into the buil
