Logan stood on the spot looking shocked and astonished, his eyes still glued to the phone. He then robbed his eyes with his left hand, wondering if he was seeing clearly or maybe his eyes were just deceiving him.

The credit alert was still bold on his screen. “What is this?” He muttered, unsure if this was real or probably a prank.

In the past, people had complained of getting these kinds of messages, only to find out that it was all just a mere prank.

Logan went on to cross-check the bank name, and it was indeed from his bank.

“This can't be real, This is probably a prank or something”.

With this thought in mind, Logan walked into the house, his mind was still occupied.

300million dollars was no small money, it wasn't the kind of money that can be transferred into one's account by mistake.

How would anyone make such a mistake? All Logan could think of was the fact that this was a prank and he wasn't the type who fell for pranks like this.

He had other pressing issues on his mind. A prank like this was something he would never take seriously.

Inside the house, Logan walked straight to the mini fridge, which was just by the corner, one of the many items he had worked hard to buy, sacrificing his stomach in the process.

He pulled out a bottle of water and began to gulp down the content. His mouth was dry.

He wasn't sure if this thirst was due to fatigue or if it was because of the too much thinking he had indulged in these past two days.

Logan rested a little bit on the bed, he could still see the divorce paper right there. It was clear Vanessa was not yet back, he cared less anyway.

After the little rest, Logan stormed out of the house, angry at himself and his predicament. He wasn't the type to drink. But in this situation, all he wanted was to clear his mind.

There was a mini bar just on the other side of the street. Logan would have preferred to take a cab, but the last penny in his pocket was one he was saving so he could get something to eat for dinner.

So he decided to walk, his eyes holding a mix of sadness and anger.

Just then, Logan saw a fleet of cars surrounding him in a majestic way.

He frowned, his eyes wide as different thoughts skimmed through his mind. Was he about to be kidnapped?

He paused and took a step backwards as the cars came to a halt, with Logan at the centre.

A young man dressed in a fancy suit came down from the car and lowered his head in a slight bow “Young master”

Logan was beyond confused. He wondered if this man had mistook him for someone else, as if that wasn't the case. Why then would he call him young master?.

“Excuse me, sir, I think there is a mistake somewhere” Logan voiced out his thoughts. Maybe this would clear the air.

The young man smiled and took a step closer to Logan “No young master, there is no mistake. You are the right person”

Logan wasn't buying this at all. He raised his brow. “If this isn't a mistake, then why do you refer to me as, Young master.

By this time. Two other men had stepped out of the other cars, they were all putting on fancy black suits, one which, by just looking at it, reeked of money.

The man smiled and then clapped his hands. Another man, this one putting on black glasses pulled the door to the backseat open.

“Please come with us. Everything will be explained to you” the man smiled.

Logan was still confused. His earlier thought of being kidnapped was still at the back of his mind. However, he had never heard of someone getting kidnapped this way. It was too professional.

“Alright” Logan finally said. Though his eyes held confusion and discomfort “Where are we heading?”

“To see Pa Lancaster” the man smiled.

The name ‘Lancaster’ suddenly rang a bell in Logan's head, and he began to wonder where he had heard or seen that name. It was at that moment he recalled the letter he had found in his post box.

He had pushed it into his pocket without going through its content. Now Logan knew all of this was connected, so he was curious and decided to go with this young man.

Probably, he would get the answers that he seeks.

Logan got into the car, and the door was gently shut. The sound of vehicles could be heard as the fleet of cars drove into the distance.

After a while of driving, the car finally came to a halt in front of a fancy bar. The door was opened by the same man in a suit, the one with the dark glasses.

Logan stepped out. He had intended to go cool off at a local bar, which was not too far away from his house, and now he was taken to the direct opposite.

The atmosphere here was different. It was clear that this bar was only for high-class people. Drinks in this place would definitely be one which an average man would not be able to afford.

Logan couldn't help but wonder why this man had brought him here. Was he brought here to come have a drink with the man named Lancaster?.

Scanning the bar in front of him. Logan could see the well planned landscape coupled with the fancy designs on the body of the building.

Streetlights were properly arranged almost to the doorstep of the bar. This was no ordinary bar. He wondered how beautiful this place would be at night.

Logan noticed that everyone coming in and out of the bar wore fancy suits, and he hated the fact that he was the only odd one among the lot.

Leading the way was the man in a fancy suit, the one who had called him young master. The door to the bar slid open, and they stepped in with Logan following behind.

As they stepped into the bar, Logan saw that it was more than just a bar, it was more of a mini restaurant, one where rich folks came to cool off, probably when they were having a break at their various places of work.

They walked over to a fancy table at the far end. Two seats were neatly arranged with one of them already occupied.

On the occupied seat was a man who should be in his mid 60s, dressed in a white suit, his hair was fully grey, Logan wasn't sure if this was natural, due to old age or if they were dyed.

The man had a smile on his face, and he gave off a peaceful energy. He watched as the man began to pour wine into two glass cups on the table.

At once, Logan thought this should be the man he was meeting.

He needed answers, the reason he was called young master, the gold letter which he did not check. And as he thought about this, the credit alert he got earlier clicked in his head.

That wasn't a prank? Was that also a part of this, too?

Now Logan was eager to speak to this man. Was his life really about to change?

“Welcome Logan, Have a seat” the man smiled, pointing at the empty seat across from him.

After a little hesitation, Logan nodded and took his seat as the glass of wine was pushed to him. He couldn't wait to get an answer to the questions that were clawing at his mind.

The cinema was nearly empty when Logan and Arielle arrived. It was a Tuesday afternoon, and most people were at work or school. The theater was a luxury one. Logan had chosen an action movie, something light and entertaining and Arielle had agreed to it. They sat in the back row with a large bucket of popcorn between them.Arielle reached for a handful of popcorn and glanced at Logan. "You know, I can't remember the last time I went to the movies during the day like this.""Me neither," Logan admitted with a small smile. The last time he had gone to a cinema, it wasn't one as luxurious as this and he had squeezed from his last penny to take Vanessa on that date. "But I figured we both needed a break. No work, just a couple of hours to relax." He added. "I like that," Arielle said softly. She settled back into her seat as the lights dimmed and the previews began. The movie was exactly what they needed. Explosions, car chases, etc, it was just pure entertainment. When the movie end

"And now there are all these rumors flying around that they might have to shut down completely.""That's what happens when you don't know how to run a business," the older stylist said with a mocking laughter in-between. "My husband works in finance and he said CGT has been making terrible decisions for over a year now. Bad investments and bad management." She added. "Didn't they used to be a big deal?" the younger stylist asked."Of course, they were," the older stylist replied. "But not anymore. Now they're just another company going under. It's sad honestly, really sad. So many people are going to lose their jobs."Hearing all of these, Vanessa felt like the floor had dropped out from under her.
