Logan sat down slowly, his palms slightly sweaty as he wrapped his fingers around the glass of wine in front of him.

He didn’t lift it to his lips. His throat was too tight for that. Instead, he kept his eyes on the elderly man across the table.

The old man’s presence was calm, almost soothing. But for Logan, nothing about this moment felt calm.

Everything happening was strange. It was like he was in a movie or dream.

The elderly man placed the wine bottle down carefully and leaned back, studying Logan with quiet, gentle eyes.

“You must have a lot of questions,” the man said, his voice deep and controlled.

Logan nodded immediately. “I do. So many questions.” His voice cracked slightly. “Why did the man in suit who brought me here call me Young Master?.”

The man from earlier had mentioned that he was taking Logan to Pa Lancaster and if he was correct then this man in front of him should be him.

And this meant that he was the one who sent the letter and the money.

“Why did you send me money? Why did your people bring me here? And—” Logan paused, swallowing hard. “who are you?”

A faint smile curved the old man’s lips, the kind that came with patience. “My name is Anthony Lancaster, but most people call me Pa Lancaster, maybe because of my age, you know”

Logan’s eyes widened, he had guessed right. It was him who did all that and this was the same name on the gold-stamped letter.

The same name tied to the mind‐blowing credit alert of 300 million dollars. The same name these well-dressed men mentioned with so much respect.

But the real question troubling Logan was what did any of that have to do with him?

Pa Lancaster gently pushed the glass of wine closer to Logan again. “Drink. It will help calm your nerves.”

Logan hesitated, then took a small sip. The wine was rich and smooth, unlike anything he had tasted in his entire life.

Just that one sip made him feel like he didn’t belong here. Like he was stepping into something far bigger than him.

Pa Lancaster folded his hands on the table, his expression becoming serious. “Logan, I have been waiting for this day for a long time.”

Logan frowned in confusion. “Waiting for me? Why? We have never met.”

“No,” Pa Lancaster answered softly. “But I knew your father.”

Logan felt the air shift. His chest tightened.

“My father?” he repeated, shocked. “Sir, with all due respect… I never knew my father. My mother told me he died before I was born.”

“That is not true,” Pa Lancaster shook his head. “You father died a few months ago but—”

“This is bullshit,” Logan argued. “Before my mother died, she told me my father died before I was born. Are you telling me that she lied to me?”

“Listen Logan,” Pa Lancaster sighed. “She must have said that to you because she didn't want you to go looking for your father. She did that to protect you at the time”

Logan couldn't believe his ears, he wondered if this man was being serious or maybe he was probably pulling his legs.

“I know this sounds unbelievable to you, it's difficult to digest, however, I will brief you on the details later.” Pa Lancaster continued. “But there is a reason you are here”

“Before your father died, he entrusted me with something. Something important, something that belongs to you.”

Logan blinked rapidly. “What belongs to me?”

Pa Lancaster nodded, then reached into the inner pocket of his white suit jacket and pulled out a small black box. He placed it gently on the table between them.

“I have waited twenty-eight years to give you this,” he said.

“Twenty eight years?” Logan repeated.

“That is right” Pa Lancaster nodded “Your father has been ill for twenty eight years and all those years we have been searching for you, it is just unfortunate that we found you just after he passed.”

Logan stared at the box, feeling his pulse throb in his neck. “Why… Why me? What does this have to do with me?”

“Everything,” Pa Lancaster replied quietly. “Because your father was Elias Lancaster.”

The world around Logan seemed to freeze.

He felt his breath get stuck in his chest as he replayed the words in his head.

Elias Lancaster? Lancaster.?

“Wait—” Logan leaned forward. “Are you saying… My father was a Lancaster? As in, one of the—?”

“Yes,” Pa Lancaster finished gently. “Your father was my son.”

Logan’s mind spun.

It felt wrong, impossible. His father? A Lancaster?

The name Lancaster was well known all over the city, it was one of the richest families in the entire city.

But when he saw the name earlier he didn't really think it was this same Lancaster family. But listening to all pa Lancaster was saying and putting two and two together, he could tell it was the same popular Lancaster family.

His father was a lancaster?. Logan couldn't believe his eyes. He had grown up in poverty. He had struggled all his life, nothing about this made sense.

Logan’s voice came out as a whisper. “But… but why would I grow up the way I did? Why didn’t anyone come for me?”

Pain flickered in Pa Lancaster’s eyes, a pain that seemed buried for years.

“Like I said earlier, we searched for you, we wanted to come get you.” He said softly. “When your father was very ill, we tried to come for you and your mother, but we couldn't find her, she vanished without a trace. We searched for years.”

Logan swallowed hard.

“My mother never mentioned any of this,” he said softly. “All she told me was that my father died.”

Pa Lancaster nodded. “She must have been afraid. The Lancaster family name is powerful. It attracts both fortune and danger. She probably thought it was safer to raise you far from it.”

Logan didn’t know what to say.

He had lived all his life thinking he was alone in the world. No parents. No relatives, no family, nothing.

But now… now, this man was sitting in front of him claiming to be his grandfather.

And right now, the money, the letter, the men in fancy black suits, everything suddenly made sense.

Logan leaned back in his seat, overwhelmed.

Pa Lancaster opened the black box slowly. Inside was a silver ring with an intricate crest carved into it. The Lancaster crest.

“This ring belonged to your father,” Pa Lancaster said. “It is the symbol of the Lancaster bloodline. The heir always receives this ring.”

“Heir?” Logan whispered, feeling the word burn into his skin.

“Yes. Heir.” Pa Lancaster nodded. “Logan, whether you know it or not, you are the only living descendant of Elias Lancaster. Which means the Lancaster empire, everything your father built with me belongs to you.”

Logan felt like his heart stopped all of a sudden. He stared at the ring for a while then his gaze shifted to Pa Lancaster.and then back to his trembling hands.

“I… I don’t understand,” he whispered. “This is too much.”

“I know. I know it is overwhelming. But your life has changed forever.” Pa Lancaster’s voice softened. “You are no longer the poor boy begging for love from someone who never valued you. You are a Lancaster.”

Logan’s eyes stung. How did this man know about Vanessa? They must have been watching him for a while now before the approach.

His mind suddenly drifted to his ex wife. The betrayal from her, The insults, the humiliation, his job loss, everyone he had suffered and now this?.

It felt like all of this was too much for him to handle.

Pa Lancaster continued, “I had my men watching over you for months. I knew you were struggling, I knew you were about to lose everything.”

“That is why I sent the 300 million dollars, to secure your future before revealing your identity. You deserve comfort, son. You deserve stability.”

Logan covered his face with both hands. Everything still felt unreal to him.

His entire life, every hardship, every heartbreak, suddenly felt like a cruel joke from fate.

All along, he had belonged to one of the richest bloodlines in the country.

When he finally looked up, his voice was small. “What… What do you want from me?” he stuttered.

Pa Lancaster shook his head. “Nothing. You are family. I only want you to come home.”

“Home?” Logan echoed.

“Yes. To live with us. To learn what it means to be a Lancaster. To take your place in the family business and to understand your inheritance.”

Logan stared at the ring again. He has a billionaire inheritance, a family he never knew existed.

And then, Vanessa’s voice echoed in his mind:

“You are worthless, you are a leech, you are a loser and you have nothing to offer”

His chest tightened with a mix of anger and pain.

Pa Lancaster noticed the change in his expression. “Whoever hurt you, whoever made you feel less than you are, they will regret it one day.”

Logan swallowed. Hard.

He took a shaky breath. “This is unbelievable.”

Pa Lancaster nodded with understanding. “You don’t have to decide anything tonight. But please open the letter I sent you. Everything is explained there.”

Logan slowly reached into his pocket and pulled out the gold-stamped envelope. His fingers trembled as he looked at it.

Pa Lancaster stood up slowly and walked around the table. He placed a gentle hand on Logan’s shoulder.

“Come home, my boy.”

Logan took a deep breath.

For the first time since Vanessa shattered him, he felt a spark inside him. A spark he thought he had lost forever, it was a spark of hope.

He nodded slowly. “I’ll come.”

A warm smile spread across Pa Lancaster’s face. “Good. We have a lot to prepare. Your new life begins today.”

Logan stood up too, still overwhelmed but determined.

As they walked out of the bar together, the men in black suits bowed respectfully.

“Young master,” they greeted.

This time, Logan didn’t flinch, he didn’t feel confused, he didn’t feel small. For the first time ever, he felt like someone important.

As the car doors opened and Logan stepped inside, he looked out the window one last time at the street he had walked all his life.

He whispered under his breath, “This is just the beginning.”

There were also couples around, most of them walking along the shoreline while orders were seated just like Logan and Arielle. That wasn't all, there were children too, children running around, chasing each other and laughing Between Logan and Arielle was a small cooler with bottles of juice and a plate of roasted meat wrapped in foil that they had picked up on their way here. The cinema was nearly empty when Logan and Arielle arrived. It was a Tuesday afternoon, and most people were at work or school. The theater was a luxury one. They sat in the back row with a large bucket of popcorn between them.Arielle reached for a handful of popcorn and glanced at Logan. "You know, I can't remember the last time I went to the movies during the day like this.""Me neither," Logan admitted with a small smile. The last time he had gone to a cinema, it wasn't one as luxurious as this and he had squeezed from his last penny to take Vanessa on that date. It's sad honestly, really sad. So many people are going to lose their jobs."Hearing all of these, Vanessa felt like the floor had dropped out from under her.
