Albert’s lips curled into a bloody sneer as he stared daggers at Damon.

“Santiago will be here soon,” he rasped, voice low but laced with venom. “And when he arrives, that smug smile of yours will vanish—replaced with fear and pain. Just like you made me suffer, he’ll make you scream. I’ll enjoy every second of it.”

Damon didn’t react. He stood motionless, arms crossed, his expression unreadable. He stared at Albert as if he were nothing more than an insignificant bug beneath his boot, waiting patiently for Santiago.

Serena, however, was a different story.

She scrambled toward Albert, her designer dress dragging on the floor, her once-perfectly styled hair now a tangled mess. “Albert, please,” she begged, her voice shrill with panic. “You have to understand—I didn’t know Damon would do this! I swear, I had no idea he was this crazy, apart from being poor and worthless! ”

Albert's eyes, dark with fury, shot toward her. "You bastard!" he spat. "No matter what happens, I’m not forgiving

“Wait! You can’t do this to us!” Serena’s voice cracked, her anger colliding with a wave of sadness. “We’re not the ones who deserve to leave... It’s them!”Her eyes locked onto Vivienne, wide with disbelief. “Why… why did you change your mind? Please, don’t do this to us. You promised! You said you’d be on our side, that you’d help us expose those shameless idiots.” Her chest rose and fell with sharp, uneven breaths. “So why now? Why are you betraying us like this?”Michael struggled against the grip of the guards, his words spilling out in desperation. “Please, Miss Vivienne... Just one more minute, that’s all we’re asking! If you’re doubting us, if you think we’re lying, then let us prove the truth to you!”His voice grew hoarse as they dragged him further away. “Damon can’t just walk free after everything he’s done! He can’t! Please… please listen to us!”But Vivienne only curved her lips into a knowing smirk. They thought they could use her against Damon... the man she secretly h

Damon scoffed as Serena and Michael made a scene, sure it would end badly for them. “Clowns,” he muttered, watching them pull the same dumb stunts they were always known for.Richard, Margaret, and Thomas exchanged bewildered glances. Richard leaned toward Margaret and whispered, "But Anthony Williams just called them VIP guests."“I heard that too,” Margaret whispered back. “I guess these people don’t know either and just wanted to cause trouble.”Serena heard them whispering without knowing what they were talking about. She grew more desperate, thinking their words were starting to sway others. "Don't let them fool you! I was married to this worthless man. I know exactly what kind of monster he is.""She's telling the truth," Michael declared, his voice echoing across the ballroom. "These two have been scamming their way through high society, pretending to be important when they're actually criminals."Serena smiled to herself, certain that Damon and Celia were finally going down. "Stop."The voice that cut through the tension belonged to Anthony Williams. He stood at the edge of their circle, his expression cold and professional as his sharp eyes took in the scene."Mr. Williams!" Richard gasped, his phone still in his hand.Anthony's gaze swept over the three wealthy guests before landing on the security guards. "What exactly is happening here?""These two people refuse to identify themselves properly," Margaret said quickly. "We were just trying to protect the other guests.""Protect them from what?" Anthony asked, his voice dangerously quiet."From likely criminals," Thomas explained. "They won't tell us who they are or how they got in here."Anthony's expression grew even colder. "And you took it upon yourselves to interrogate my personal guests?"The color drained from Richard's face. "Your... your personal guests?""Mr. Damon and Miss Greene are VIP guests of Vespera Corporation," Anthony said clearly. "They are here at my personal invitation."Margaret'

Damon didn’t move. His jaw tightened, every line of his face carved with restraint. He knew exactly why he couldn’t give them his last name. The second the word Sterling left his mouth, the air in this room would change. They would all know who he was. They would know he was part of one of the most powerful families in the city. But he wasn't ready for that revelation. Not now. Not like this. When the right time came, he would reveal his true identity. But that time wasn't tonight, and it certainly wasn't because these arrogant people demanded it.Celia looked at Damon desperately, her mind racing with confusion and fear.“Damon, please,” she whispered, her voice trembling with urgency. “Why won’t you just tell them your last name? If you do, they’ll leave us alone.”But as the words slipped out, a sudden realization struck her. In all the time she had known Damon, he had never once spoken his last name. Not a single time. She sifted through her memories, replaying every conversation,

"I don't need connections," Damon said firmly. "Only a few people know who I really am, and it doesn't include the people here. You don't need to know who we are or if we're well-known in the city."Celia felt a ripple of confusion at Damon’s words. Only a few people knew who he really was? But she knew he wasn't wealthy like anyone here. Was he just saying that to save them from embarrassment? That must be it, she thought. He's trying to protect us.The three wealthy guests stepped back slightly, but they didn't give up."Okay," Richard said slowly. "But surely you can tell us your names? That's not asking too much.""I'm Celia Greene," Celia replied quickly, hoping that would satisfy them.Margaret frowned. "Greene? I've never heard that name in our circles.""Wait," Thomas said, his eyes narrowing. "Greene... wasn't there a Greene family that used to be wealthy? Years ago?"Celia's face went pale. Her heart started beating faster."Yes, I remember now," Richard said. "The Greene fa

Damon and Celia moved through the elegant crowd. He kept his eyes sharp, scanning for any sign of trouble from Serena and Michael, all the while staying close to Celia. He knew they were here tonight, and he was certain they would try to cause trouble again. Those fools never learned."This champagne is wonderful," Celia said softly, taking a small sip from her glass."I'm glad you're enjoying yourself," Damon replied, his voice gentle but his gaze scanning the room.A distinguished older man in an expensive tuxedo approached them with a curious smile. "Good evening. I don't believe we've been introduced. I'm Richard Blackwood, from Blackwood Industries.""Good evening, Mr. Blackwood," Damon said politely."I have to say, I'm quite curious," Richard continued, looking between Damon and Celia. "I know most of the prominent families in this city, but I don't recall seeing your faces before. What industry are you in?"Celia felt her stomach tighten with nervousness. She hadn't expected
