Celia looked straight at her mother, her voice steady despite the chaos around her.

"You think that if I marry him, his family will help us out of debt. You want me to sacrifice my happiness just so you can save the business. You never cared about me."

Mrs. Greene's face went red. "How can you say that? Everything I do is for you!"

"No, Mom. Everything you do is for you," Celia said firmly.

Mrs. Greene's anger exploded. "You ungrateful little brat! Do you have any idea what we've done for you? What we've sacrificed?"

"Martha!" Mr. Greene tried to step in, but his wife was too far gone.

"No, Robert! She’s completely lost it—she needs to snap out of it!" Mrs. Greene turned back to Celia, her voice shaking with rage. "You're being disrespectful and selfish! And for what? For him?" She pointed at Damon with disgust. "He's worthless! A complete deadbeat with no job and no future!"

Celia stepped forward, her eyes blazing. "Don't talk about Damon like that!"

Mrs. Greene laughed bitterly. "L

Vivienne had just finished giving her speech as the guest of honor. Everyone clapped, and her smile never faltered, but inside her mind was far away from the stage. What she really wanted tonight wasn’t applause. It was an answer. She wanted to know if Damon and Celia were truly dating. Each time they smiled at each other, every glance between them—Vivienne studied it all. Yet no matter how much she thought about it, she hadn’t found a single way to test them, not one thing to force a reaction that would reveal the truth. Her eyes locked on them again. Damon leaned closer to Celia, whispering something that made her laugh softly. Vivienne’s nails dug into her palm. She needed to do something. Anything.Just as she was about to step toward their table, her assistant, Eliza, appeared in front of her with urgency written all over her face.“Ma’am, there’s something you need to take care of right now. It’s important,” Eliza said, her tone sharp.Vivienne frowned. “What? What could be so i

"Did they really just kick us out like we're nobody? All because of Damon and Celia?" Serena's voice shook with anger. "Michael, you said your father's assistant has important friends. He's the one who got us into this gala. How could they throw us out like we don't matter?"Her face burned red. "They should treat us with respect. We deserve it because of your father's assistant."They had been walking back and forth outside ever since security dragged them from the fancy ballroom. Both were so angry they could barely think straight. If Damon and Celia appeared now, they wanted nothing more than to tear them to pieces."I'm confused too," Michael said with a bitter laugh that wasn't funny at all. He was filled with rage. "They acted like my father's assistant didn't matter. Like Damon is more important than him. What a sick joke."Serena's mind raced. "Maybe they don't know your father's assistant is the one who invited us. That's why they treated us so badly."She started pacing fast

"What are you doing here?" Lucas asked, walking closer with that smug look on his face."Do we need your permission to go anywhere? We're here because we were invited," Damon said with a scoff. Lucas laughed, sliding his hands into his pockets as he stopped right in front of Damon and Celia."Yes, you need permission because I'm a Sterling. Get that through your thick skull! Stop acting cocky. Who would dare invite trash like you here?" Lucas's voice rose, though he flashed Damon a mocking smile. Deep down, rage burned in his chest."Here we go again with this stupid drama. It keeps repeating and I'm already tired of it. I have better things to do than waste time on brainless people like you," Damon said, looking bored before letting out a dry laugh."Lucas Sterling, don't you have anything better to do than cause trouble? Just go have fun instead of wasting my time," Damon added, making Lucas even angrier."Did you just call me brainless?" Lucas started to raise his voice but stopped

Vivienne stood frozen in place, her heart racing as Damon’s words echoed in her mind. He had thanked her. After everything that had happened between them, after the misunderstanding, he had actually thanked her.She hadn’t expected this moment. Not now, not when he still hadn’t forgiven her. Not when she knew he was still angry. Her breath came in quick, uneven gasps as she watched him walk away with Celia. “He doesn’t hate me completely,” she whispered, her voice trembling with hope, her eyes never leaving his figure. “There’s still a chance. He hasn’t shut me out forever. He can still forgive me.”She had braced herself for him to ignore her completely tonight. She had expected him to turn away again, just like at the airport. But instead, he had acknowledged her help.Maybe he understood that she hadn’t defended him just to deceive him into forgiving her. Maybe he realized she was truly trying to make things right.Vivienne pressed her hand to her chest, feeling her heart slam aga

“Wait! You can’t do this to us!” Serena’s voice cracked, her anger colliding with a wave of sadness. “We’re not the ones who deserve to leave... It’s them!”Her eyes locked onto Vivienne, wide with disbelief. “Why… why did you change your mind? Please, don’t do this to us. You promised! You said you’d be on our side, that you’d help us expose those shameless idiots.” Her chest rose and fell with sharp, uneven breaths. “So why now? Why are you betraying us like this?”Michael struggled against the grip of the guards, his words spilling out in desperation. “Please, Miss Vivienne... Just one more minute, that’s all we’re asking! If you’re doubting us, if you think we’re lying, then let us prove the truth to you!”His voice grew hoarse as they dragged him further away. “Damon can’t just walk free after everything he’s done! He can’t! Please… please listen to us!”But Vivienne only curved her lips into a knowing smirk. They thought they could use her against Damon... the man she secretly h

Damon scoffed as Serena and Michael made a scene, sure it would end badly for them. “Clowns,” he muttered, watching them pull the same dumb stunts they were always known for.Richard, Margaret, and Thomas exchanged bewildered glances. Richard leaned toward Margaret and whispered, "But Anthony Williams just called them VIP guests."“I heard that too,” Margaret whispered back. “I guess these people don’t know either and just wanted to cause trouble.”Serena heard them whispering without knowing what they were talking about. She grew more desperate, thinking their words were starting to sway others. "Don't let them fool you! I was married to this worthless man. I know exactly what kind of monster he is.""She's telling the truth," Michael declared, his voice echoing across the ballroom. "These two have been scamming their way through high society, pretending to be important when they're actually criminals."Serena smiled to herself, certain that Damon and Celia were finally going down.
