"Thank you very much. I really appreciate it.” Logan whispered, almost tearing up. Then he remembered the conversation he had with Leslie and Stacy at the cafeteria. He didn't want to do it, but for Ava, he instructed Alfred. "I need you to give feedback to Smile Corporation on the proposal that the deputy sales director has been trying to get you onboard with. You can instruct them on how to update their proposal and the amount you want to pour into the business, I'll leave it to your capable hands."
"Very well sir but if I may ask, the deputy sales director is your mother-in-law, isn't it?"
Logan sighed as he shook his head. "If you already know this, then why ask again, Alfred? I already know you ran a background check on me."
Alfred chuckled softly. "You seem to know me very well, sire. If that is all, I'll get to work now."
The elevator dinged and he stepped out with the phone still in his ears. "Thank you very much, butler Alfred." He said discreetly, not wanting the people around to hear what he was saying.
"No need to thank me sir. I'm simply just doing my work. That's all…" The conversation seemed to have wanted to end but Alfred's voice came through. "Young master, do you think you'll have spare time to come home and visit your father?"
Logan halted in his steps as his demeanor changed from warmth to anger. "Alfred, are you trying to make me angry? Why would you bring up my father knowing what I feel for that man?" Alfred could feel the change of his tone. His Master's mood was now ruined.
"My apologies, Young Master Logan. You must know that it’s not my intention to make you angry." Alfred tried to explain himself before he could continue further. "I...I just wanted you to know how lonely your father has been since you left. He has been living in regret ever since then and to think that the only family he had left also left him… That shattered him more."
Logan hated to admit it but his heart hurt when he heard what his father was going through. He wondered how lonely his father was and what type of suffering he was going through but when he remembered that his older sister died because of his father, the hatred and anger he had for his father grew and his heart hardened again.
"I don't want to talk about this anymore, especially my father." Logan's voice was cold. "I don't care what happens to him and I will never go back to that house nor do I ever want to see his face again."
"Okay but do you know that ever since you left, your father has seemed to lose interest in life? He's just like a lifeless corpse." Alfred said with a sense of urgency. "Did you know that he locks himself in his room? He doesn't even taste food or water and when he's not in his room, he's lying in your sister's grave. He's become an empty shell…"
"What…?" This seemed to finally make Logan care. He had always thought that his father was too proud and didn't love anyone except himself. He was really shocked about hearing all this.
"I am telling you the truth, Sir. And that's not all." Alfred said. This time, he didn't care about the consequences since he was going against the Mitchell patriarch, he would go all the way and let Logan know that his father had been doing terribly. "Do you know that all these years you were away, your father actually found you but he decided to let you be so that you could live your life as you see fit and chose not to disturb you?"
Logan's breath caught in his throat. So that means, his father had chosen his son's happiness over his own and chose to live a lonely life. If his father wanted, he could have dragged Logan back but he wanted his son to be happy and made Logan see his father in a new light. His father was really a considerate man, after all.
At this point, his heart had already melted as he remembered all the good memories they shared together, he sucked in a breath. "Alright Alfred, you win.” He said begrudgingly. "When I have time, I'll go see him. You always want to get the last word." Logan said those last words softly. It wasn't meant for the butler to hear but he did anyway… then he laughed.
"I'll take that as a compliment, Sir.” He said quietly.
Logan rolled his eyes. "Whatever."
"And Young Master, thank you. Your father will really be happy if he sees you."

Meanwhile, Logan began to lead Mia through the aisles of beautiful clothes and he was deeply happy when he saw the cheerful smile on her face as she began picking some clothes. “Dada, I like this one!” She said, jumping happily. “Dada, I want that dress! Can I have it?” With a warm look on his face, Logan lifted his daughter so he could look her in the eyes. “Of course, my princess, you can have anything you want.” Mia gave Logan a toothy smile before turning her gaze until she spotted a beautiful blue dress. “Dada, I want that Cinderella dress,” “Right away.” Logan carried his little girl to the aisle in the store and gently put her down. Mia had just picked up the dress when another little girl suddenly snatched it from her hand. "This is mine." The girl glared at Mia before pushing her to the ground. The middle-aged couple behind her simply stood there, watching their daughter bully another girl. Logan's eyes widened as he quickly rushed forward to help her up, che

I can't stand seeing your face right now.” She pointed at the bedroom door. “I want you to get out! You're sleeping in the living room tonight until you stop trying to feed me all this nonsense, you're not sleeping anywhere near me!” Logan was speechless. He would have persisted but he could tell that Ava was too tired for this conversation, so he got up and left. Mia finally woke up the next day and cried when she saw her parents. Logan and Ava couldn't hold in their emotions when they hugged their daughter. It took two weeks of proper monitoring before the doctors officially discharged M

Logan was beyond amused that he almost burst out laughing, Adriana was taking the glory for what he did. However, instead of exposing her lies, he decided to watch and see how well she faked it "You're too kind Adriana, unlike some people who tried to lie and deceive us about having a familial relationship with the CEO." Stacy said, giving Logan a hateful glare. "Just ignore that clown." Leslie said, sneering at Logan. "A lowlife like you who tried to claim Astral Corp's CEO is your butler. How pathetic." Ava walked over to Adriana with a warm smile. "You helped my family and I would like to repay that. How about I buy you dinner? Please, don't refuse me." "Okay, I won't refuse you but if you don't mind, I'll be bringing my older brother. He has always wanted to meet you. If that's okay with you…" Adriana requested and glanced at Logan. Ava agreed immediately. Logan watched how his wife made plans to have dinner with this ridiculous woman and her stupid brother the coming day.

I'll make sure to rewrite it before sending it to your company. Thank you." Stacy walked into the living room to see her getting out of a phone call and screaming in joy. "Oh my God, Mom. What was that for?" She asked, covering her ears with her hands. "You won't believe who I was talking to just now." Leslie rushed over to her daughter and held her hand. " Astral Corp’s headquarters just called me and they expressed their interest in accepting my proposal." "Oh my, that's good news. How did it happen?" Leslie thought for a minute and then looked at her daughter with a smile. "It was none other than Adriana Lima. I'm sure she did all this. Guess her father does have connections after all." Then Stacy saw her picking up her bag and car keys. "But where are you going, mom?" "To the hospital, dea

Chapter 16: The Truth Dismissed as a Lie
Logan turned back to them and said to Leslie in a low voice, "I think it's quite… Good, but your proposal will need a lot of polishing in it if you really want a company like Astral Corp to invest their money into your business." "I don't need your opinion on my proposal." She said with a displeased look. "What do you even know about business?" She quickly held her tongue before she said any more insulting words. She really needed his help so for now, she needed to behave. Logan sucked in a breath, "That can be arranged." He decided that it was no use hiding the truth from them since it would be revealed in the future anyways. "The CEO is my family's trusted steward, so getting you to meet him is nothing." The smile on Leslie's face morphed into a look of anger. "What the heck are you saying?" Logan was shocked about her sudden change in reaction. Did he say something wrong? Stacy suddenly began to laugh. "I told you not to come to this fool for help, mom. Now, look at him
