The Cost of Winning
It was already 4 p.m.A black Rolls Royce pulled up and stopped right in the middle of the road, exactly where the wreck had happened. The engine went quiet. Then the driver’s door opened.Jane stepped out.She slammed the door shut behind her and ran straight toward the side of the road—toward Butcher. He was sitting there, legs folded, silently staring at Richard’s dead body lying a few feet away.Jane froze when she saw the scene. She stopped beside him, eyes wide.“It’s over…” she whispered.Butcher didn’t look up. Slowly, he turned his head toward her and gave a small nod.“Yes,” he said. “It’s ended.”There was silence.“Please… can you give me some space?” he added softly. “I want to stay here. Just for a while.”Jane’s eyes dropped to his shoulder. Her breath caught. His entire left side was soaked in blood. The pocket knife was still lodged in his shoulder.“No… no, no—Butcher, you’re injured,” she said quickly, panicking. “Do you realize that? You’re bleeding—badly!”Butcher
To End the Pain
“I know,” Butcher said quietly. “And I promise you this—I know what Leo did. I know everything. And I’m going to teach him a lesson he’ll never forget.”He took a step closer.“Just tell me your final wish. Is there anything—anything at all—you want me to do for you? Just say it.”Richard glared up at him, trembling with fury. “Hell nah! No way in hell. No way I’m going to die. It’s you who’s going to die. You were the one meant to die.”His voice cracked with hate.“From the day I found out you were my brother… I hated you even more. It made me angry. Stronger. When we were in the slave mafia—you were more respected. They paid you more. Gave you more jobs. You had the wealth. The power.”He spat on the ground.“And what, you think I should’ve been happy for you? My brother, the one I thought was living in the damn slum, turns out to be superior to me the whole time.”Richard’s hand trembled as blood dripped from his fingers.“Every time they sent us on jobs… assassinations… you were
Brother’s Bullet
As Butcher chased after the truck on the bike, he raised his gun and fired at the back of the vehicle—but the bullets bounced off. It was bulletproof. He gritted his teeth and pushed the throttle harder. The bike roared forward.“Ha! There’s no way I’m gonna die here. I will never die here. It’s him who’s meant to die. I hate him,” Butcher growled, eyes locked on the target. He raised his gun again and fired at one of the truck’s tires. Nothing. Still moving. He fired at another—this time, the truck began to slow down slightly, swerving.Butcher reached under his jacket, pulled out a grenade, and hurled it under the truck just as it rolled forward. The explosion rocked the street—the truck lifted off the ground, flames erupting underneath, then crashed down hard, rolling onto its side with a screech of metal.“Is he dead?” Butcher muttered, speeding up toward the wreck. As he neared it, he swerved, turned off the bike, and jumped down. From the wreckage, coughing echoed. The twisted t
The Chase Begins
Butcher slowly raised his hand and slipped it into his pocket, gripping his gun. At the same time, he looked at Carlos, while Richard glanced at his own men. Then, without warning, Butcher ran and jumped into a nearby bus. Carlos did the same, sprinting to his Toyota. That was when the shooting broke out. They started firing at each other. Butcher pulled out his gun—it was ready. He scanned the chaos, watching how the fight was unfolding. Then he ran out. There were too many men. If I try to go through that line, I’ll be caught, he thought. But still, Butcher had the numbers. Richard had about 55 men, while Butcher had around 100. Carlos, too, was fighting on the front line. The gunfight raged on in the open road—bullets flying, no cover in sight.Oh no… I didn’t even realize this. I didn’t. Richard thought. My men were watching him, but I didn’t know he was going to send this many. No, I didn’t bring enough men. I’m going to lose.Just then, he saw one of Butcher’s men aiming at him.
Bloodline
Thirty minutes into the drive.Carlos noticed it first.Jane spotted it a second later.Motorcycles—twenty-five of them—weaving through the empty street, heading straight toward the convoy. The riders all wore dark glasses, dressed in black. Mafia. No question. And behind them… a bulletproof black Toyota, flanked by two armored cars. No doubt about it—Richard was in that vehicle. The road ahead was narrowing. Both convoys had spotted each other.Carlos signaled. The buses halted first, lining the road like a barricade. At the same time, the bikes skidded to a stop. From the buses, ten men per vehicle spilled out—one hundred thugs total, armed and alert. The bikers dismounted, drawing their weapons. In the silence, the two sides stared each other down, guns aimed, fingers twitching. One wrong move—one flinch—and it would all go up in smoke. From behind the tinted window of the bulletproof Toyota, the door clicked open. The first thing to appear was a black leather shoe. Then the man hi
Two Kings, One Road
As the car rolled out, Butcher sat in the back seat of the Rolls-Royce, Carlos following close behind with his fleet of thugs. Everything was in motion.Suddenly, Butcher’s phone vibrated. He checked the screen—one of his spies. The one tailing Richard. He answered.“Sir,” the spy said, urgency in his voice, “something’s happening. Richard… he’s not at the mansion. He’s already on the move. It looks like he’s preparing to attack you.”“What?” Butcher said, eyes narrowing. “What are you talking about? Slow down. Speak clearly.”“Sorry, sir,” the spy said. “We thought we were going to catch him off guard. But now it looks like he’s trying to end this too. He’s headed toward the port. Toward the ship.”There was a pause.“You might run into each other on the road.”Butcher hung up.This isn’t good.Jane glanced at him through the rearview mirror. “What’s going on?”“Nothing,” Butcher said calmly. “Just keep driving.”He turned and looked out the back window, then raised his eyes to the s
