“Let’s keep moving. We need to keep going,” Dane said as they rushed along the side of the church, trying to make their way to the front—toward his bike.

As he moved, Dane suddenly collapsed. Ella and Gina quickly rushed to him, lifting him up and placing his arms over their shoulders.

“Sorry… I’m sorry I’m stressing you,” Dane muttered weakly.

“Don’t worry. You’re bleeding,” Gina said, her voice full of concern.

Dane’s face was bruised, and his hand torn open. He had lost a lot of blood.

“Oh no… this isn’t good. Feels like I’m about to pass out,” he said, swaying.

He slowly removed his hand from the bottle he’d been clutching.

“That’s right… don’t worry. I’ll be fine,” he said, forcing himself to keep going.

Finally, they reached his bike. Dane climbed on and started the engine.

“Grab on. Get on—both of you,” he said.

Gina climbed on behind him, then Ella. The three of them squeezed onto the same bike.

Despite the pain, Dane revved the engine and took off.

His body was screaming, vis

Gina moved to the other side of the bed and sat down. Dane was now in the middle—both of them beside him. The energy in the room shifted. It was quiet, but charged.Ella gently placed her hand on top of Dane’s.“I don’t know the kind of life you or Butcher have lived,” she said, “but I can tell he means something to you. You wouldn’t be asking about him otherwise.”Then Gina placed her hand on his other hand.“She’s right,” Gina said softly. “We can feel it. You’re not just some outsider. You care.”Without another word, the two of them stood up. Ella lowered herself onto his lap, facing him. Gina followed, sitting on his left leg. Dane looked between them, his heart thudding in his chest.“What… what’s going on?” he asked. “Why does it feel like everything in the room just shifted?”His heart was pounding.Ella leaned in, eyes closed, and kissed him.His first kiss. When it broke, he turned to Gina—and she kissed him too. His mind was spinning.I can’t hold back anymore, he thought.

  • Smiles in Pain

“This man you see here,” Jota began, “he’s a psychopath. A killer. He’s committed more crimes than I can count. But that’s not even the worst of it.” Dane narrowed his eyes. “He tried to sell out Jimmy—my boss—to the cops,” Jota continued. “That’s why he was kicked out of the Mafia. Honestly, some people just don’t deserve to live.” They both looked at the man. He lowered his head at first, wearing a sorrowful expression. Then, suddenly, he grinned. Slowly, he lifted his hand and pointed a finger at Dane. “You. Nobody. You bastard,” the man spat. “I was trying to be nice to you. Begging you to release me. And you didn’t.” His smile grew wider, more twisted. “I’m going to come for you. Don’t forget that. Put it in your head.” Dane didn’t flinch. He stared coldly. Then, without a word, he stepped forward and kicked the man square in the face. The force of the blow knocked the chair over, sending the man crashing to the ground, still tied up. Jota calmly walked over and set th

  • You Should’ve Told Me

It was Jugana. That’s when it all happened. The fight. The adrenaline. The heat of the moment. Dane had removed the suit mid-fight—his hand busted open trying to block one of Jugana’s brutal attacks. In the middle of the chaos, caught up in the rush, he took it off and threw it aside without a second thought. Now, standing in the hallway, he regretted it. Why the hell did I do that? That was one of my best suits. Just as sharp as the Butcher suit. And I threw it away like garbage. He rubbed the bridge of his nose. I was caught up in the moment—fighting, bleeding, riding the high like it was a party. But still… He muttered under his breath, “Damn. I only have two suits. And I wasted one on Jugana.” He shook his head, pulled out his phone, and dialed Butcher. The call connected almost instantly. “So… you’re awake,” Butcher said. “Yes, sir. I’m back,” Dane replied. “How’d you know I was out?” “Jimmy told me. I trusted you with that mission—and you delivered. Good work.” “Tha

  • The Rookie He Chose

“I don’t have a problem with you,” Dane said. “But ever since I joined the Mafia, people in the same crew act jealous. I don’t get it. Is there something special about me I don’t know?”He leaned back slightly.“Not that it’s a bad thing. I mean, look—just talking to you right now? That’s a privilege. You probably don’t even realize it. Do you know how rare it is for someone to have a conversation with Butcher? He only talks to me. Not the others. Does he ever speak to any other Mafia members on this ship?”Jimmy blinked. “You’re right… Could that be it?” He paused, thinking. “Yeah. He really doesn’t talk to other people. I never put that together before.”“I’ve always wondered why they envy me,” Dane continued. “But that’s not the only thing. Some of these guys have worked for Butcher for over 15 years—and he’s never even noticed them. Meanwhile, I show up, still a rookie… and he sees me. Talks to me. You think that wouldn’t get under their skin?”Jimmy gave a small nod. “Yeah… that

He was walking. They were both following him. He turned.“Why are you guys still following me?”He wasn’t wearing a suit—his shirt had been removed during treatment. He was topless. The medical team had taken it off while tending to his wounds. The two girls looked down at first, then slowly raised their heads and met his gaze.“You see… we don’t actually have money to go home,” Gina said. “And we don’t know anyone here. You’re the only person we know. That’s it.”“Oh! Sorry—my bad,” Dane replied. “I don’t have any money on me right now. But let me go to my room. Let me take a shit. You can follow me if you want.”They kept following him. When they reached his room, the two girls sat on the bed. Dane walked over to his closet. He paused, then turned and looked at them. Why am I getting excited? he thought. No… I didn’t think this through. I shouldn’t have let them in here. I need to focus. Let me just put a shirt on first. He pulled out a shirt. As he glanced at them again, another th
