Chapter 1

Moore strolled into the company, wearing a black, faded suit that clung to him like a second skin. A wide grin adorned his face, indicating his confidence. However, as he neared his office, an unexpected encounter occurred—he collided with his manager, Lucas.

"Apologies, Mr. Lucas," Moore quickly offered.

"Have you lost your vision? How dare you bump into me? I wish I could cleanse myself of the filth you've brought upon me with a scorching bath," Nick spat, his anger flaring. Moore felt a surge of fury, ready to retaliate, but he restrained himself and responded calmly.

"I've already apologised for my mistake. We're all prone to errors as humans. I apologise once again," Moore said in a composed tone.

Lucas, however, refused to accept his apology. He glanced at the cup of tea in his hand, raised it, and intentionally poured it onto Moore's suit. Shocked, Moore's mouth gaped open, unprepared for such a behavior from his manager. Anger coursed through his veins.

"What the hell is wrong with you? I humbled myself, apologized, and intended to part ways peacefully, but you're only interested in causing trouble. You're nothing but a despicable devil!" Moore yelled, his voice reverberating with fury.

"Shut the hell up! How dare you speak to me like that, you useless fool!" Lucas snapped back, leaving Moore at a loss for words. Lucas nonchalantly leaned against the wall, propping his left leg against it.

"You know what would truly make my night wonderful? If your wife, Fiona, became mine. Honestly, Moore, she doesn't deserve the treatment you give her. You have a stunning wife, yet you fail to provide her with what she truly needs because you're nothing but a pathetic loser," Lucas stated, punctuating his words with mocking laughter.

Colleagues began to gather around, forming a circle, their giggles and laughter directed at Moore, their disdain for him palpable.

Moore seethed with anger at Lucas's hurtful words. While he acknowledged that his job might not be high-paying, he always strived to ensure his wife's comfort.

"You're wrong! Just stop it!" Moore shouted with newfound confidence.

"You don't know what you're talking about. The way you speak, it's as if you're rolling in money, when in reality, you barely scrape by each month, you useless, impoverished loser," Lucas jeered.

Infuriated, Moore lunged forward, clutching Lucas's shirt in a vice grip.

"I was telling the truth, sir. Please, believe me," Moore pleaded desperately.

"You've been causing trouble in this company every single day. What is wrong with you? It's as if you made it your mission to disturb the entire workplace before you were even hired!" the boss scolded in a fit of rage, while Moore's colleagues reveled in their amusement, sneering and scoffing at his predicament.

"I'm truly sorry, boss," Moore apologized, his voice filled with remorse.

"You don't have to be sorry, because I've had enough of that word from you. You talk a big game. I'm tired of it. You're fired. Collect your belongings and leave this place," the boss announced, leaving Moore in a state of shock. He had never anticipated that the consequences of his actions would result in losing his job. Moore dropped to his knees, desperately clinging to his boss's leg.

"Please, don't fire me, sir. This job is all I have. I beg for your forgiveness and a second chance," he pleaded. The boss remained silent for a few agonizing moments.

"If you wish to stay, there will be a condition," he revealed, prompting Moore to rise with a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

"What is the condition?" Moore inquired.

"The condition is that you must offer up your wife for the night, for her to spend it with me," he declared, a twisted smile stretching across his face. Moore's irritation and anger surged within him, and without thinking, he raised his hand and slapped his boss across the cheek. Moore couldn't believe he had done it—he was still in shock. Nevertheless, he forced a confident expression to mask his internal turmoil.

Both the boss and Moore's colleagues wore expressions of shock, their faces frozen in disbelief.

"You slapped me," the boss exclaimed, still processing the audacity of Moore's action.

"Yes, I did, and I'll continue to do so," Moore boldly retorted.

"Throw him out of this place now!" the boss screamed in fury. The people standing nearby swiftly rushed towards Moore, forcibly carrying him and ushering him out of the building, before unceremoniously throwing him to the ground outside.
