"What exactly do you think you are doing, Logan?" Sienna demanded loudly.

She stomped across the thick rubber training mats, completely ignoring the gym etiquette rules. Her face was flushed red with absolute anger.

Logan let out a cold, mocking laugh in his own mind.

Just yesterday, Sienna had willingly crawled into his brother's bed for a taste of luxury. She openly carried on a sordid affair with Mason right under his nose.

Now, she had the absolute nerve to act like a betrayed partner simply because Logan was working out with an attractive professional.

Nothing inappropriate had even happened. Maya was simply spotting his heavy squat routine to ensure his form was perfect.

Logan racked the heavy steel barbell with a loud clank. He wiped the sweat from his forehead and put on a perfectly fabricated expression of deep regret.

"It cannot be helped, Sienna," Logan sighed heavily. "This is just another part of the difficult arrangement."

"What arrangement?" Sienna snapped. She crossed her arms defensively, eyeing Maya with pure venom.

"My biological parents are incredibly strict," Logan lied smoothly. "They need to ensure the future heir to their massive empire will never be swayed by a pretty face."

He gestured casually toward Maya. "They hired a team of elite, beautiful trainers to surround me all week. They want me to build up a total resistance to temptation."

Sienna gritted her teeth. She rapidly calculated the millions of dollars at stake in her greedy mind.

She decided instantly that she would put up with any level of humiliation just to get her hands on that aristocratic wealth.

"I just cannot bear seeing you with someone else," Sienna lied. She forced large, pathetic tears into her eyes to play the victim. "I love you too much, Logan. It hurts my heart to watch this."

Maya crossed her incredibly toned arms. She looked Sienna up and down with intense, clinical judgment.

"Who exactly is this girl?" Maya asked Logan. Her voice was entirely flat and thoroughly bored.

"She is my former girlfriend," Logan replied casually. "She dumped me of her own free will yesterday. Now she is desperately trying to get back together."

Maya let out a short, contemptuous laugh..

"Vanguard is a private club for elite members only," Maya told Sienna coldly. "Take your cheap perfume and your fake tears out to the street. You are interrupting my paying client."

Sienna flushed a violent shade of purple. She opened her mouth to snap a vicious insult right back at the trainer.

Logan stepped forward and lowered his voice to a dangerous whisper.

"Do not make a scene, Sienna," Logan warned her quietly. "My family has invisible observers watching my every single move. Any public scandal during this trial period will catch their immediate attention."

He looked her dead in the eyes. "They will drop you from the supply chain without a second thought."

Sienna swallowed her immense pride and bitter humiliation. The threat of losing her golden ticket into the billionaire dynasty was far too terrifying.

She grabbed her thick binder tightly and practically sprinted toward the exit. She did not look back once.

Logan turned back to the squat rack. He nodded to Maya, and the grueling training session immediately resumed without another word.

Over the next ten days, Logan completely transformed his entire existence.

He spent twelve grueling hours a day at the Vanguard facility. Under Maya's ruthless and expert instruction, he rebuilt his shattered physical strength.

His muscles grew incredibly dense and powerful. His cardiovascular endurance reached absolute peak levels. He was forging his own body into a lethal weapon capable of surviving a frozen hell.

The rest of his precious time was dedicated strictly to overseeing his massive logistics operation.

Sienna worked herself to the absolute bone. She ruined her expensive manicures securing dozens of heavy transport trucks and filling them with wholesale goods.

She delivered massive shipments of bulk rice, canned proteins, and industrial medical kits directly to the Hawthorne estate. She brought thousands of subzero sleeping bags, heavy thermal parkas, and portable heaters.

At the corporate level, Harper finalized the massive industrial orders.

Through Greenfield Industrial Energy, she procured five thousand tons of premium anthracite coal. She also delivered the requested tactical armaments and heavy steel thermal plating.

Logan received a highly amusing intelligence report from his private security contractors during the final week of preparations.

The report detailed the sheer, unchecked greed of the Bennett family. Madison and Mason were absolutely desperate to squeeze more profit from Logan's thirty million dollar order.

To maximize their commission margin, the Bennetts actually sold off the heavy backup diesel generators from their own mansion. They even liquidated their own household emergency supplies and priceless antique furniture to buy cheaper coal stock to resell to Logan.

When the ice age hit tomorrow, the Bennetts would have absolutely no backup power and no fuel to burn. They were digging their own frozen graves .

Logan simply smiled at the detailed report. It did not matter to him. Let them happily burn their own house down.

Finally, the day before the apocalypse arrived.

Logan stood alone in the paved courtyard of the Hawthorne estate. The deafening construction noise of the past two weeks had completely stopped.

He surveyed his completed fortress with quiet, immense satisfaction.

The original luxury mansion was entirely gone. In its place stood an impenetrable, brutalist bunker.

Massive steel plates reinforced every single perimeter wall. The windows were sealed with thick polycarbonate glass designed to withstand hurricane force blizzards.

Deep beneath his feet, a state of the art geothermal heating system hummed quietly in the solid bedrock. His underground vaults were packed to the ceiling with decades of food, pure water, and combustible fuel.

The armory was fully stocked with the heavy weapons Harper had procured. Every single camera and motion sensor was active and recording a live feed.

He was completely ready for the end of the world.

Logan turned the final preparations over in his sharp mind. He double checked his mental list, wondering if absolutely anything had been left out of the grand design.

Just then, a sharp voice called his name from beyond the reinforced wrought iron gates.

"Logan!”

"We march to reclaim our stolen harvest."Makhal addressed his gathered horde in the frozen ruins. His deep voice carried over the howling wind."The northern parasites hide behind their metal doors," Makhal told his army. "They feast on the beast that belongs to the ice. We will break their walls and drag them into the snow."The two hundred cannibals roared their approval. They slammed their scavenged weapons against the frozen asphalt. The rhythmic pounding signaled their march to war.Makhal turned toward the northern border. He led the army out of the dense southern ruins. They did not carry their raw hide shields today. They marched in two long columns flanking a weapon engineered for total annihilation.A severed bridge girder spanned the frozen distance between the columns. The Hogul Dah had ripped the structural support from a collapsed overpass. Thick iron chains looped around the oxidized steel beam. Fifty pale giants hoisted the brutal battering ram upon their broad should

"Evade the target right now!"Eric screamed the frantic command over the secure radio frequency. The digital audio hissed violently against the howling mountain wind."The seismic sensors are peaking off the scale," the engineer continued from the bunker control room. "You have a massive biological entity rising directly beneath your boots. Jump off the glacial shelf before it breaches.""I am not moving," Logan replied. The colossal Glacial Serpent reared its head above the shattered ice. Pale translucent scales reflected the blinding blizzard. The monolithic beast blotted out the gray storm clouds above the frozen peak. It opened a jaw wide enough to swallow a commercial vehicle and bared its crystalline fangs."The telemetry shows a surface temperature of absolute zero on those scales," Eric begged over the comms. "If that creature touches you, your cells will flash freeze on impact. You cannot survive that level of thermal drain.""I must test the internal furnace," Logan stated.

  • The Subzero Crucible

"Your core temperature just plummeted past negative one hundred and fifty degrees!"Eric screamed the warning through the earpiece. The radio static hissed violently against the howling wind."You are approaching the threshold of total organ failure," Eric continued. "The biometrics are flashing red across my console."Logan dragged his exhausted torso over the final icy ledge of the towering mountain. The wind shear at the apex of the glacier threatened to peel the flesh from his bones. The temperature defied all natural physics."I am holding the summit," Logan gasped into his chest rig. His breath materialized as thick white crystals in the freezing air."The telemetry indicates your lungs are crystallizing," Eric warned. "You cannot survive this exposure. The human body is not built for this atmospheric layer. Come back down to the city grid. We need you here.""The Alpha cannibal resides in the city," Logan grunted. He pulled his heavy boots onto the flat glacial shelf and forced

  • The Fireworks Protocol

"Get the reserve militia to the roof access hatch right now."Eric barked the command over the secure radio channel as he sprinted from the main control room. He pushed his legs hard up the concrete stairwell, taking the cold steps two at a time. His lungs burned from the exertion, yet he ignored the fatigue to reach the top landing. He found Marcus and Ashton waiting near the door."We need the sealed cardboard crates from the secondary storage locker," Eric told the commanders between ragged gasps for air. "Bring them out onto the ice."Ashton grabbed the handle of the metal storage unit and ripped the lock off with his bare hands. He dragged a crate onto the freezing concrete roof. The teenage commander tore the top open to reveal thick cylindrical tubes packed with commercial grade paper."These are standard fireworks," Ashton said. He looked at the colorful explosives in pure confusion. "You want to fight an army of monsters with bottle rockets?"A sharp laugh escaped Eric's thro

  • The Flesh Phalanx

"Slide your barrels through the carved gaps!"Doran shouted the command over the howling blizzard. He crouched behind the thick perimeter wall of the Hawthorne courtyard. The incomplete barricade consisted of dense ice oak timber stacked high and packed with frozen slush. Ten elite Vanguard soldiers dropped to their knees behind the fortified wood. They shoved the steel barrels of their rifles through the murder holes Doran had engineered into the barricade."Target the front line," Doran ordered. He peered through his own scope.Fifty Hogul Dah cannibals charged across the neutral asphalt. The pale giants shrieked, their voices blending into a terrifying chorus of bloodlust. They bounded across the black ice on all fours to maintain their unnatural speed."Distance is one hundred yards," Doran called out the metric. • The Engineer's War

"Leave the logs."Ashton issued the command in a ragged whisper. He crouched behind the pulverized brick wall and stared across the neutral asphalt. The Hogul Dah siege camp crawled with hundreds of pale giants preparing for an imminent assault."We need the timber to build the barricade," Mill argued. He hoisted his heavy iron axe. "We cannot stop working.""We are out of time," Ashton replied. He turned away from the terrifying sight. He pointed at five members of the Vanguard squad. "You five hold this position. Guard the timber we already cut. Hide in the ruins and do not engage the enemy under any circumstance."He turned to Mill, Sarah, and the remaining three soldiers. "Drop your tools. Take only your weapons. We are sprinting back to the bunker.""Logan ordered us to harvest," Sarah reminded him."I am giving you a new order," Ashton commanded with absolute authority.
