Chapter One

Outside The Elite Hotel stood a tall and handsome man, looking at his phone that kept ringing.

"Hello, is that Alexander Albert?"

"Yes, this is. What can I do for you, sir?"

"Congratulations, Mr. Albert! There is a huge inheritance of more than one trillion dollars for you to inherit."

"What? Really? One trillion dollars?"

Alex broke out of his shock and said excitedly.

But soon, Alex calmed down and realized it must be a fraud.

How ridiculous!

Someone’s scamming a poor guy like him, who even had to support his living and college education by delivering part-time.

"Okay, listen, whoever you are, I want to advise you to refrain from ever playing this kind of trick on me again. Do you understand? Have a nice day," Alex said and furiously ended the call.

As soon as he did, his eyes flashed at the time and he realized that he was almost running late for his delivery. He quickly blacklisted the number and then rushed into the hotel.

Outside room 105, Alex took in a deep breath and knocked on the door.

Few seconds later, the door flew open.

A short and chubby man with brown hair laced with gray hair stripes stood in front of him.

"Hello," Alex greeted but the man just looked at him with disdain.

Alex was well built, tall and very handsome. The man became very jealous of his looks and hated him at the spot.

"You're late," the man said out of spite.

"Yeah, I'm sorry…"

"Your tip is gone and I am going to ensure that your company hears about this," the man went on to rant but Alex did not care about that anymore. He was more concerned with the person he saw coming out of the bathroom. The woman was dressed in sexy lingerie, and she looked like she had been thoroughly satisfied.

"Susan!" He roared in anger.

His girlfriend stood before him but in the hotel room of another man, dressed in sexy lingerie.

Susan froze on the spot, unable to move or say a word.

The takeaway immediately fell from Alex's hand, irritating the man that stood before him.

"Are you out of your mind?!" The man bellowed. His voice startled Susan, jolting her back to reality. Immediately, she looked at the door.

A gasp fell off her lips when she saw her boyfriend, Alexander, standing at the door.

She could hear her heart pounding from her chest and then suddenly, she felt the shame of her actions wash over her. It caused her head to hang low.

"A-A-Alex," she stuttered, taking slow steps toward him. "W-what are you doing here?"

"What am I doing here?! I should be the one asking you that question? What in the world are you doing coming out from the bathroom of a man's hotel room dressed like that?" He asked in disdain.

"Babe, do you know this guy?" The man, who was old enough to be Alex's father, asked when Susan didn't answer.

"He-he-he is my boy-boy-boyfriend," she answered, lowering her gaze.

The man turned to look at Alex. He was well built for a man his age. His muscular structure showed that he works out. Alex was medium height, but with handsome features that would make the girls swoon over him. Her ebony black hair was well combed, his symmetrical face had brown eyes like the colour of warm coffee, a pair of white teeths that was covered by pink lips.

His soft features were complimented by his bronzed skin which only helped to increase his charm.

In the face of it all, the man did not fret. From Alex cheap perfume, he knew the boy was nothing more than a poor college student.

He laughed, "this is your boyfriend? You were right. He really is a good for nothing," the man said.

Alex heard his words and moved his gaze to Susan. His eyes brimming with anger.

"You told this man that I am good for nothing?" He asked, enraged.

"Alex," Susan tried to beg.

"Don't even start with me. For two good years I stayed your boyfriend, for two good years I worked like a slave with no ambition just to take care of you and your family. For two good years, you did not even allow me to touch you, you did not even let me hug you! You told me you were saving yourself for your wedding night! How could you be cheating on me? And with a man that is old enough to be your father?" Alex said painfully.

"Okay, you watch your tongue with me Alex," Susan argued back. "I am not cheating on you with anyone. Robert here is my father's friend who just happened to get into town today."

"Oh, I'm sorry but when did we start entertaining our father's friend by walking around half naked in front of them?" He asked sarcastically.

"Oh will you grow up?!" Susan retorted. "Robert here is twice the man you will ever be. He doesn't have to work like a slave and still not meet up to my demands. He owns two very successful transportation business. Earns over 1 million dollars every month and he is ready to buy anything I want just to make me happy."

As soon as the man heard himself being complimented, he turned his attention fully to Susan.

"Oh baby," he said as he took her in his arms and kissed her deeply.

Alex stood firmly. Gritting his teeths, he clenched his hand into a fist trying to contain his anger.

Finally, Robert let go of Susan and addressed Alex.

"Young man, apologize. You have ruined my meal and because of that, I will have to report you to your company. But because of how nice I am, I won't. If only you apologize," he said with a smirk on his face.

"Alex, go on. Apologize to him so that you won't lose your only source of income."

Angered at Susan's words, Alex lunched at the man who took to his heels and ran to the back of Susan as he saw the anger in his eyes.

"Alex," Susan stood between the both of them. "I think you should leave," she said but Alex did not move a muscle.

"Alex, if you don't leave now, I will call security on you."

Alex looked down at her, his pain was evident in his eyes.

"This is not the end. You will regret this, I promise you," he said and stormed off.

Depressed and angry, Alex went home without stopping at his workplace. He owned a small room in the rural part of town.

As soon as he got home, he collapsed on his bed. His mind kept reminding him of all the moments he spent with Susan.

The more he remembered, the more his heart hurt. His pain did not come from her actions or from a place of love, his pain came from the amount of money he had wasted on her. He spent everything he ever made on her.

As his heart pounded, his phone buzzed indicating that he had a text message.

Grumpily, he picked up the phone and saw a credit alert of five million dollars

Alex immediately jacked up from his bed, cleaned his eyes twice and stared at the phone again. The money was still there.

He suddenly started laughing. "Someone must be playing a cruel joke on me today," he commented and before he could say another word, he heard a strong banging on his door.
